July 31, 2009, 2PM: Played 5 hours, 5 minutes, Lost $78.00 at Northern Quest
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

This sucked.  Almost doubled my hundred dollar buy in early, but like last time, it all got sucked away.  The second half of my session was dominated by some old timer, the absolute luckest run of cards I've ever seen someone get.  It was sick.

Pushed all-in on the button with 8/5c, got call by A/Jo.

July 28, 2009, 3PM: Played 5 hours, 50 minutes, Made $28.00 at Northern Quest
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Hell of a grind.  Flopped a full boat early then turned another one all within a half hour of sitting down.  Up almost one hundred dollars at that point, it was downhill thereafter.  Struggled all day, seemed like I folded hands for an hour straight at a few points.  Happy to leave with a profit.

July 25, 2009, 7PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $17.00 at Lilac Lanes
$17 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 20 Players)

Had some chips towards the end...
At five handed and blinds at 200/400, two UTG pushes all in for 2000 and the SB smooth calls.  I look at A/Ko in the BB and decide to shove for about 7000.  SB calls having me covered and shows wired 10's.  Other guy shows A/Jh.  Board comes out x/x/x/x/J.  Lame.

$22 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (11th out of 24 Players)

Never got it going.  Missed a couple of oppertunities at bluffs and never picked up a hand; went all-in UTG six handed after looking at one ace, got two calls and lost to wired jacks. (A/10d)

$22 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 20 Players)

Got some chips early but couldn't sustain.  Went out when I picked up K/Jo under the gun as the short stack, getting called by wired queens.
I actually didn't feel too bad, as the lady who knocked me out runs horrible against me, might have been the first hand out of about twenty she's beaten me at.  Needless to say, she was quite excited.
I'll also note the K/Jo is my least favorite hand in poker.  Period.  I've seen more people lose more chips in tournaments with K/J than any other hand, easy.  It might look a little better when short stacked, but it's garbage.

Business as usual...

$22 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (12th out of 22 Players)

Started off great.  Picked up A/Ko on the button, raise, get one caller with a flop of Ad/8/3d.  Other guy immediatly pushes all-in and has me slightly covered.  It makes little sence to me, and after some thought I call.  He shows me a queen high diamond draw and my A/K holds up.
After that, it was downhill.  Got my money in good twice against the same player preflop, calling his all-ins with wired 9's against his K/Q and A/Kd against his A/10.  Losing both of those crippled me and finding A/Jo under the gun looked quite appealing.  With the blinds at 300/600, I push for 2600 and get called by pocket kings which ended my tournament.

July 13, 2009, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Made $114.00 at Northern Quest
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Moved up to the very soft main table about ten minutes in with 91 dollars.  Hit the first hand I played past the flop, the nut diamond flush, which was damn near a 100 dollar pot.  I skipped work to play instead, so after I droped sixty back, then got back up to my cashout amount, I felt obligated to come home and not gamble what I could have made at work.  That and I wanted to smoke a bowl.

July 12, 2009, 11AM: Played 35 minutes, Lost $17.00 at Lilac Lanes
$17 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (24th out of 34 Players)

Limped in about four times with suited connectors early and missed all of the flops.  Down to 1525 with blinds at 50/100, everyone folds to me in the SB and I look at K/Qo.  Decent starting hand, so I make it 300 and BB instantally moves all-in for 650 more.  Lame.  The BB is a predictable ABC player, but she seems to own me in past tournaments.  So I put her on a good hand, either a big ace or a medium to large pair.  With the blinds and my bet, I'm getting about 2-1 on my money, so I announce I hope she has Jacks or worse and call.  She shows me A/Qd.  Yuck.  Board runs A/Q/x/J/x.  I'm left with 575.
After being colored up to 600 and the blinds at 100/200, I shove with K/9o two under the gun and the BB calls with Q/8c.  Running clubs end my tournament.
