$25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (21st out of 27 Players)

Well,I caught cards and got beat. I shoved with the best of it and got beat. What more can I do. Got the news about my back surgery and thought lets play some poker. Did not work out. I played my cards well and got beat. *Poker is a fickle game with too many idiots to make sense. Play your best and it still is not good enough.*

November 9, 2009, 5AM: Played 8 hours, Made $170.00
$60 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 10 Players)

Decided one hour prior to join a buddy and go to this home game bonanza. The structure is this:6k in chips,12 minute blinds, with antes at 500/1000. Four of these mini turbos are played and points are awarded according to finish. I start final table witrh 14k,6th best stack. Leader has 20k. Saw some of the sickest river beats handed out by the worst player I have ever seen. He punished everyone with his sick ass shit. Anyway, head has not been in game of late,so considered a break until after New Years. My pal convinces me to go and it works out. I play really well and knock the final 5 out to win the tourney and the cash. *Winning...just feels so much better than losing* I had so much more to say here, but I could not get it to translate. I woke from sleep and had an "aha" moment, but thoughts just did not quite transfer to log. Oh well,it happens.

$90 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (32nd out of 33 Players)

Too much going on outside of poker to be fully invested in my game. I play tight and aggressive and here I played loose and stupid. I pushed in the early rounds(no need) ahead, and got drawn out on. Rebuy and same scenario. I strongly suggest one not play if their head is not in the game. I may as well just dumped $90 on the floor and walked out. I will not play again until I commit to my game.

October 20, 2009, 4PM: Played 3 hours, Lost $25.00
$25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 36 Players)

Playing well. Missed a bet and bet out into trip aces. Only mistakes in the tournament. They happened in the first hour. I had tripled my stack in hour 1. 4k-12.5k. Made final table with 7th stack of 9. The six stacks ahead were 30k+. I made two moves all in with K9 suited and AQ suited. Tabled folded. I came over UTG2's raise with an all in with AQ off,he calls with AK off. I rivered a flush and doubled up. 6 remain,I have 16k when the small blind raises to 4500. I see AA and shove. He insta calls with 88. Long story short,he rivers a gutter straight and I am out. I am getting more and more comfortable playing with knowns and unknowns at the table. My reading skills keep improving. Cards are still random and anything can happen.

$25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (15th out of 33 Players)

Not feeling well physically but decided to go and play. Card dead throughout. Made a play on the turn when I should have on the flop. Felted and rebuy. Still card dead and pushed last 1900 with ace nine suited. Called by KK. No catch and done for the day. I did not deserve to go as far as I did. I was limping and donking chips and basically not into the game.*When your heart and head are not totally committed to the game,do not get involved or change your attitude. Otherwise, you may as well open your wallet and go home.*

October 15, 2009, 5PM: Played 4 hours, Made $230.00
$25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 25 Players)

Coming off a long week of bad beats and some poor play. Fifth day in a row of play with non cashes previously. Final table play, playing tight and aggressive.Poker pro on my right, very good player on my left.I have 2nd stack. Pro trying to limp and catch me from small blind 3 hands in a row.  I caught on to his ploy and used against him. I cracked his all in from the button. I limped with ace jack,he pushed with queen ten. Insta call and see ya and good night, please drive safely. Overwhelming stack. Next hand, buddy pushes with 68 suited,I call with j8 off for 25% of stack. No one caught and my jack played. Win and $230 take. Good day after a tough week.
