January 9, 2006, 2PM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $6.00 at Party Poker
$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (22nd out of 30 Players)

No cards, get JJ utg with 250 chips left and blinds at 25/50.  go all-in get called in middle position with K3s.  I flop a set and he rivers spades.
On the good side, I had multiple opportunities to exit earlier, but was actually able to lay down some hands.  Maybe I am improving, Maybe I am just kidding myself so I keep playing.  I'm not sure yet.

January 9, 2006, 1PM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $11.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (14th out of 20 Players)

got no cards until QsQd in bb at 15/30.  utg and sb call. I raise to 130.  utg calls flop Js9s7s.  I move all-in for my remaining 600 get an immediate call and it is obvious why as he turns over 10s8s.  Boy am I running well!

January 8, 2006, 4PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $33.00 at Party Poker
$30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (56th out of 99 Players)

Got kings cracked again early.  had 200 left and got them to 600 when I get 77 in early middle and play it horribly.  If I raise preflop, the bb folds.  Since I don't and I bet the flop and he calls, I should know I am beat right.  Nope I am an idiot and push on the turn.  A266X what does the bb have? 62

Like I said, I am a moron.

January 8, 2006, 4PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $11.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In Omaha Hi-Lo Tournament (4th out of 10 Players)

got chips early, couldn't catch a hand in the middle, got screwed at the end.  I have to play chips 4 handed.  I have 5 left on the button the bb has 270 with blinds of 100/200.  chip leader in between.  CL calls and bb goes all in then CL folds! fo 70 chips, he's got over 3000! Reaks of collusion.  I survive the blinds and the same thing happens again.
It is either the worst tourney play I have ever seen, or blatant collusion.

January 8, 2006, 2PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $25.00 at Party Poker
$0.50 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

So here I am, 1 day after saying I wouldn't be back to online play for awhile.  Trying probably my worst game.  It did lead me to a couple of conclusions.
1.  Part of my problem playing online, is the fact that it must be done on a computer.  By that I mean it is so easy to do at least 3 other things while playing.  My biggest weakness(not observing others well enough) is made easier to do. I just have to click my browser and pay some bills, check the news, etc.
2. I am still not aggressive enough.  I must take control of each hand I play.  I often start out in control, but become weak and passive on the turn and river.  Maybe this will be a good game for me to work on this.  $25 for a lesson isn't horrible, and if I get my shit together it could even be profitable.

On the good side, I didn't rebuy.  Cutting down on chasing will have a good effect on my bankroll.  I can look back through the log and find at least $250 pissed away ecause of chasing.

Making progress.

January 7, 2006, 5PM: Played 1 hour, Made $50.00 at Big Daddy's
$4/8 Texas Hold'em

Had to wait to get in the game, by the time I got in could only play for about 2 hours.  Hit a couple of junk hands that I played well and got there.  First Q6d in early middle position.  Only the second hand I played this session after about 1/2 hour.  I raise and get just what I want initially.  The guy next to me says "so you finally decide to play a hand." Four of the players at the table know me and think I play very tight, even though I haven't played much with any of them.  I think I am going to get the blinds when he says this, but instead 5 callers! WTF
short version, flop 478 bet the whole way and get a 4 on the river.  Everyone folds to me on the river, but I show anyway.  I think the advertisement will pay of nicely as I get AQc next hand and raise again.  I miss but it doesn't cost me much.
45d in the big 7 way action, 2d3X, 3d, 7d.  I it the whole way and get called down because of the Q6 show earlier.
Decided to take a small win and get home to finish working on the bathroom.  Still tryin to gain some confidence, and booking any win helps.
Although I am not playing a lot, I am thinking about the game.  I won't get back to online poker until I get some issues squared away in my head.  I have fixed some leaks in my live play, and am happier with my live play more than ever before.
I am determined not to go back until I am ready to win, and have the necessary tools to do so.

January 7, 2006, 5PM: Played 2 hours, Made $80.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 33 Players)

Once again chopped 5 handed, this time I was the chip leader.  Didn't feel like butting heads with blinds at 8/16.  I have about 50 chips, but nobody is crippled.  Take a little win, cut the dealers in on the deal, and tip the floor.
Got lucky 1 hand with AJ in the big for 400, I have 1500 left.  Everyone folds to the button who makes it 800.  I move all in and he calls and turns over KK.  QXX10, I call for the king and it hits on the river.  Have to get lucky at least once in this tourney to make the money.

January 5, 2006, 7PM: Played 2 hours, Made $50.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 35 Players)

got staked for the tourney.  Made KK hold up against pocket 10 (unlike last tourney) to get some chips early.  I showed the KK when he didn't call my last 800 on the turn.  A few hands later I raise w/ Q10o in middle position after 1 limper had entered, the limper is the only call.  He flops a pair of 3 with A3o, I try to bet him off his hand on the flop and turn but he goes all in.  I call and catch a 10 on the river.  So this is what it feels like to be on the good end of drawing out!
I ride my chips to the final table to get 87h in the big, utg goes all in for the big, I win to maintain chip position.  Talk the table into a 5 way chop with $100 for the dealers.  I had to go so couldn't play it out anyway.  Good in the end for everyone.
