April 2, 2006, 4AM: Played 45 minutes, Made $49.00 at Ringo's
Texas Hold'em

2-6 spread
Played 2 hands, 55 in cutoff floped a set for $10 and K high flush utg.  2-6 spread is easy when they let you see the flop for 2 each time.

April 1, 2006, 10PM: Played 2 hours, Lost $65.00 at Big Daddy's
$4/8 Texas Hold'em

Didn't hit a hand for 140 then grinded back to this point before a friend came and we bailed for different drunken adventures.

April 1, 2006, 5PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Lost $11.00 at FT
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (76th out of 320 Players)

Still playing, but just barely.  Just a little story about a term called "POT ODDS".  Here it is:

The hand is fairly inconsequential, a dipshit hits a flop with the worst hand preflop then contributes his call to POT ODDS and the following dialogue ensues.  For kicks here is the hand and "converstion".  I am interested in what all of you think, am I correct, is he? Is the answer somewhere in between? I think there is room for meaningful discussion here.

hammerman: bad flop for 99
Casinohit: pots odds said "hell yeah"
hammerman: there is no such thing as pot odds
preflop
Casinohit: sure is
hammerman: but you can tell yourself whatever you
want
Casinohit: risk another 800 to for a 4000 pot
famm: yes there is
hammerman: for how many outs?
Casinohit: of course there is
hammerman: what's the odds to hit your hand vs the
$ in the pot?
famm: every hand has a percentage value pre flop
hammerman: if so, then you must have a read on
everyone else and know how many outs the are to
hit your hand
famm: its not that precise
famm: for examplke AA is over 50% with 3 or less in
pot
hammerman: there is gambling with the worst hand
and getting lucky, then trying to cover bad play
with made up mathematics
hammerman: its poker you can put you chips in with
whatever you like, but don't cover it up by saying
the "odd" say it was the right play
Casinohit: pot odds
Casinohit: not odds
Casinohit: odds were i didn't have the best hand
Casinohit: but the odds of hitting the pot for what i
had to risk were GREAT
famm: pot odds mean you pay a smaller
percentage to call than your chances of winning
famm: for example you call 25% of pot when your
chances to win are over 25%
hammerman: with the action you didn't put any one
on AK or AQ, which gives you at best 3 outs
Casinohit: POT ODDS!
Casinohit: NOT ODDS!
Casinohit: jesus
hammerman: hey moron, I have a masters in math I
understand odds
hammerman: but based on your holdings you have
to put everyone else on a specific hand preflop to
have POT ODDS
Casinohit: with suited KQ, I figured calling the 800
reraise for a 4000 pot was worth it
Casinohit: period
Casinohit: nothing more
hammerman: that's fine and that is all you have to
say
Casinohit: all i ever did say
Casinohit: pot odds
hammerman: just don't say it is POT ODDS
famm: thats the definition of pot odds
Casinohit: that's what it is!
hammerman: OK, if you say so
Casinohit: pot odds
hammerman: just don't say it is POT ODDS
famm: thats the definition of pot odds
Casinohit: that's what it is!
Casinohit: you obviously don't play 2000 hand a
day like me

Moral of the story, big picture, I get wrapped up with this moron and don't notice that 4 hands later the sb flops top and bottom when I have top with good kick and lose most of my chips.  He got me off my game, and that is my fault, because I was sitting well and should have moneyed in this tourney.

Let me know what you think!
