March 14, 2007, 6PM: Played 5 hours, 6 minutes at Woodpeckers - Helena
$60 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 24 Players)

Played one of my best tourny sessions in a long time.  Still took 2 bad beats and didnt issue any and STILL WON.  One beat happened heads up and I have the guy crushed in chips so it didnt hurt too bad.

Keys-->

It was a very week field.  Was able to make good reads and was able to attack blinds frequently.  The cuttoff was where all my blind stealing took place.  I knew the button's action before he acted, cause of how he placed his cards after looking at them, and the two blinds were tight.  Did get called by the BB one time when I had AQ.  Flop came trash.  He checked, I checked (maybe bet, call).  Turn comes more trash, he bets, I call.  River comes pairs the board.  He bets, I replay the hand, and something didnt add up right in my head, cause I got caught one by him reraising pre, and I didnt place him on anything, but a stone cold steal.  I called.  I was right he had AJ.

Bad beat #1.  Blinds are 50-75.  Player in middle pos raised to 300.  Im on the button with KK, and I make it 750. He goes all in for 1400, I call.  He rolls over AJo FUCKING DONKEY!! Flop comes QJ9, and without further adue comes the good ole A.

I still have 3k in chips (2k starting, 4k with taking the single rebuy (which I did before tourny started)

Round later UTG and the BB I pick up AA back to back, get some preflop action, but nothing after that

Final Table play:

I end-up making a play on the turn with 5-7 (in the BB) with no draw.  I fired 1.4X bb on the flop and got one nervous caller....Pinned him on a draw maybe with middle or bottom pair.  Flop was QsTs9h (or similar) Turn, came a blue duece, I fire 6k, into a pot that is about 5K-8K, the nervous caller had 6400 in chips, I had about 8K.  He did the same nervous play with his chips, I knew he couldnt call unless I gave away my position.  He mucked.  I asked if he wanted to see, he said yes, by that time the dealer had my cards in the muck.  So I tell him I had 5-7 high no draw.  He looked at me and laughed, "I highly doubt that".  I was about to run him over the rest of his tourny life.

Heads up: ~75K total, I have 50K-60K

We played heads up for almost an hour, maybe more.

I dont think I ever went below 45K (40K for shure)

Bad Beat number 2:

I have 9-4o in the BB.  He called on the button, I checked.  Flop comes 9-5-4.  I check he bets kinda tiny but bigger than usuall.  I put him all in, he calls.  He rolls over 3-5o.  I think I have the tourny won here.  Turn comes a 3, fuck he has more outs now.  River comes a 5.

We play some more, I pick up 99 on the button trying to trap, no go, I pick up AKs on the button trying to trap, no go.

The win:

I have Q7o on the button.  Flop comes Q74.  He checks I check.  Turn comes a Q.  Now I have the nuts. He bets out about his normal bets.  I look like I make a crying call like I had paid him off with before.  River comes whatever.  He says, Im all in. I call I win

March 11, 2007, 11AM: Played 2 hours, 12 minutes at Lucky Lil's - Butte
$2 Pot-Limit

Was just killing time before work.  Played as solid as I could, was stuck a little most of the session and then picked up a big hand busting someone before I had to goto work.
