August 8, 2006, 4PM: Played 3 hours, 54 minutes, Lost $330.00 at Wynn Las Vegas
$330 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (24th out of 105 Players)

Not a bad tounry for the cost.  Start with 3k in chips and 45 min rounds.  Blinds start at 25-50.

For the 1st three rounds I pretty much sat on my chips and avoided going broke with hands like 77, 66 and TT.  If I had touched my chips with any of these three hands I would have walked into monsters and been gone.

I had three agro know-it-alls on my left so blind stealing was out of the question.  The one time I do make an attempt the SB "goes all in".

I grind my way down to 3 tables but short stacked with only 4K, when average is about 11K.  I'm UTG with 99, blinds are 200-400 25 ante.  I make it 1200 leaving me with about 2000 left.  Everyone folds to the cut-off who puts me all in with AT offsuit.  We roll the cards out and he spikes a ten.

I'm not sure how players like this can play this hand.  His stack was only 9K and peeling off 3K against a tight player UTG is not really a good idea.  I just put myself in his shoes and would most always fold.  The best situation he can be in is if I have Ace rag or KQ, KJ.

It is getting hard to fade these tournaments with so many bad aggressive players.  A perfect example of this is the world series main event.

I'll keep trying though..
