Odds Calculator

OK, I realize it is just something that *I* wanted to do, and most people already have a way to do this already, but it is a major step in moving toward doing Hand History analysis the way I want to.

At any rate, if you click in the header on "Poker Resources", you will see a link to "Online Poker Log Poker Odds Calculator".  I'm pretty proud of the work done on this.  It is the first time I've ever used this much javascript on a page, but since everyone is doing it these days, I figure it's about time this old dog learned a new trick (note to self: this site still does not work with Firefox).

I hope you enjoy using the Odds Calculator so you can see just how bad your beat actually was.  Comments appreciated on this one, as I'm not sure I have the interface just the way I want it (yet).

Trying to find my niche

This last week I've been trying new methods and various game types. I'm pretty much trying to find something I like and a style of play that works. Right now, I think it's best I just stick with the 5 table SnG's, catch the occassional MTT and go on from there. While I do like the smaller time frames that single table SnG's provide, the payout is smaller. And while 5 table SnG's and MTT's have a higher variance, the payout is much larger and more profitable.

I think all this switching up has also caused me to lose some focus. I've noticed that I've been making some straight up donkish plays that I would never have typically made. Also, my patience needs a refill. I've noticed that in some tourneys, I have no patience at all and just push when I probably shouldn't.

split pot

I appreciate all responses very much.  My answer to this question was.  While I would like nothing more than to award half the pot to the original winner, who said nothing and the third party, I can't do this.  The third party has the best hand at showdown and wins the pot.  Hammerman and deiyuo basically quoted me with their answers, which is funny because I never asked them this question when I saw them.  So I must say that I actually giggled when I read those answers.  Thanks again for the insight all.  I will do my best to remain insightful and inciteful when it comes to poker.

Jesse funds please!

Jesse,

I need you to fund DeDobber's acct soon, I am getting dangerously close to catching him in the total loss column.  Just a couple hundred should keep him further in the red.

Much Appreciated,
hammerman

question was posed

O.K. kids
those who know me, know that I love to debate the rules.  This question was posed last night.

Scenario... Two people split are going to split a pot. The third party at showdown is going to muck his hand.  One of the pot winners asks to see the third party's hand.  The dealer obliges, and the hand is better than the others'.
I would like to know your call and why.  I will give my call in a couple days.

Party Poker's $150k Guaranteed Cadillac Main Event

Well, great news. Initially I thought I hadn't made the entry into the $150k Guaranteed Cadillac Main Event. Well I was wrong. I did make it. And I play it on Sunday.

I am taking off a few hours early at work to make the tournament. It should make for an exciting one. The top 51 people get paid. Making the money you'll at least win $700. Top prize of course is the 2007 Cadillac Escapade. 2nd place isn't too shabby either with a prize of $25000.

The highest I've ever placed in a MTT is 3rd. And while I'm no stranger to poker itself, I am newer to MTT's. It's going on my third week of playing nothing but them. I have what it takes. Little luck and my skill is all I'll need to take this baby down.

WSOP

How many people going to the WSOP?? Looking at the schedule, sure seems like they have made a lot of changes.  What's up with this 50K HORSE tourney? Who wants to stake me in that one?? LOL Looks like they are expecting around 8000 entries this year.  4 day 1's....amazing..1st should be around 9 MIL probably.  Hope to make it there for at least a few days.  If I do, I'll be the one sitting at the final table of each event I enter.  Happy gambling.

Privacy Feature

OK, many have asked and now it is done.  You can make your log "private".  All it does is not show anyone else your win/loss amounts (or performance graphs).  This seems to be what many people are concerned about.  Have fun you pussies.
