$3/6 Omaha Hi-Lo

Grinding night.  No money on the table til they broke the 2nd game and filled us at 3am.  I had a rack and that was the big stack for most of the night.  Ran it up 70 at one point.  Then the crazies sat down and i loosened up too much.  Pissed it all back.  Then made quad jacks and got back to 50 up.  Was almost 4 and there were two different married couples in the game.  Plus a good player and a "pro" grinder.  Decided to get some sleep and try again tonight.  Was crazy night though in one regard.  If i folded it...it was coming.  Threw away quads 4 times and hit quads once.  On a hand i shouldn't have played.  J-J-10-8.  Was late pos and no one had folded.  I need to remember and focus to avoid playing those 3 card good hands.  Over enamored of A-Q-10 w/ rag low card (6,5) etc...  Was costing me limping money.  Knew it was time when i called flop/turn w/ top/bottom pair and a straight against a flopped flush.  STUPID! Is when i almost got up.  Good news was it WOKE me up and tightened me back down.

$0.10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

couldn't get much going...one hand i made a bad mistake in i called a small bet on the turn where i knew my opponent had A high and planned to steal the pot on the river.  an A hit the river and i still bet which was just an aweful play, he called with the AJ.  another hand i bluffed on a river that filled my opponents' probable draw and lost there too.  the very next hand i had A2 clubs in the SB and limped and the flop was 9AA, i checked and the turn came another A...i checked and called a bet...the river was a 9 and i decided to just way overbet the pot for $3 (.55 pot) and see if i get a call to split and sure enough he called with Q7 and i got back to 8.65 and quit b/c i was playing so bad.

May 23, 2007, 12PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $8.00 at Merced Poker Room
$3/6 Omaha Hi-Lo

This had to be one of the friendliest casinos I have ever been too!!! The owner Jack, Tournament Director Jesse, and Dealer Eddie we cordial, speedy, and a pleasure to play cards with. It isn't located in the best location and was tough to find but isn't something that Yahoo Maps can't take care of. The card room was a small 3 table room offering Omaha and Hold'em games. To our surprise the Omaha was the favored game much like Montana was of the 1990s. Both Deiyuo and I enjoyed ourselves during our stay and will make every effort to make it back very soon. Hopefully I can bring home a green this time around?

May 24, 2007, 9PM: Played 15 minutes, Made $1.00 at Eagle Mountain Casino
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Having driven for 2 hours east of Hanford to get to this casino, Deiyuo and I were disappointed to find only 1 table operating (short handed at that). We both played a little Star Wars as was the custom to do so before we got into a game had the game break 20 minutes after we sat down. So word to the wise is to think twice before hitting the Eagle Mountain Casino! On a lighter note: Portville is a nice little community but we called Bakersfield and received word that 7 tables were going. Only being 45 miles away we hurried our way down their and sat in the $6/12 hold'em game.

May 23, 2007, 10AM: Played 15 minutes, Lost $12.00 at Turlock Poker Room
$12 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (42nd out of 50 Players)

Deiyuo and I made it to Turlock around 7AM with no game to be found. We did run across one of the employees whom informed us of a 10AM tournament with a $12 buy-in. Deiyuo and I, half asleep and in the sleeping zone made our way to Denny's where we grabbed some coffee and breakfast. After breakfast Jess sleept and twitched in the back seat for two hours while I watched my back thinking he'd stab me at any second. No but seriously, we made it all but 20 minutes in this tournament (NateDawg having placed higher) and decided to head south towards Visalia and Bakersfield.

$35 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 20 Players)

At our second card room for the day Deiyuo and I found this little gem some 100 miles north of San Francisco. We came across a small $15 buy-in no-limit tournament that offered unlimited $10 rebuys through the end of the fourth round and one $20 rebuy at the end of the fourth round. Now I won't say who was in $75 to take 12th but I managed to play like a rock and take a nice green. Deiyuo treated me to some French tea and some nice music to conclude the evening. Oh yes, and he did feed me once today as well!!! Fuckie!

$0.10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I was down a little bit and the table was only 4-handed but at the end i won one big hand with J10...i limped in the SB and the flop was 10 9 6, i led out the size of the pot and got a call...turn was K and i checked, the guy behind me bet about the size of the pot and i called.  the river was a 4 and he bet about 150% of the pot which was reallly fishy and i ruled out 87 b/c i thought he would have made a value bet...also don't think he would have played a K for that much money so i thought he had to be on air b/c of the weakness i showed on the turn and river.  so i called and he showed Q8 and i took down a nice pot to put me up a little before i quit.

May 25, 2007, 9AM: Played 2 hours, Lost $5.00 at Full Tilt
$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (31st out of 195 Players)

only top 18 paid... and i was in good shape and playing REALLY good big stack poker...

i guess i went semi-tilt after i had A-8 in the bb in 4th of 45 and i raised it up around x3.5 the BB when the lone limper pushed, and i called immediately

she showed K-J and hit her J... bugged me because i lost about half of my stack on it... but kept tight aggressive, trying to steal big blinds and antes

had Q-8 suit... bet pre-flop from 1 before the button, got one call

flop 4h-5d-6c

check, i bet, call

6h

check, i push to try and scare them out of, hopefully a draw while, if i'm behind, at least i have the flush draw to run back on

calls with pocket 5s

ugh...

1 hand after break i get K-J suit and push, called by A-10 and the board is blank

i'm a fucking tard

$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (51st out of 199 Players)

TURBO

was in the top 15 at one point... lost a bit when a shorter stack pushed with top pair and i was holding the same, but he outkicked me by two...

so played short stack for a bit, doubled up once... last hand before break guy in first position goes all in immediately... i look down at pocket 8s

i know it's a race... my stack is at 3,095 and blinds are at 400-800 after the break... so, i figure it's time to make a move and call for the race

a board of K-J-10-A-10 doesn't really help me much

May 25, 2007, 6AM: Played 12 minutes, Made $25.60 at Full Tilt
$1/2 Razz

saw chip jett sitting at his table by himself, so figured i'd sit down while playing a hold'em tourney and get some action in against a pro for the first time

we only got in about 12-13 hands in heads up... but i won one on the show down instead of our regular ante stealing... so i was up five bucks on a pro, which has kind of made my day... just a little thing, but it makes you feel cool

in the end, got a 7 high on 5th street one hand that 5 guys called my (2-7)-5 complete in... they got rubbish and one guy called me down with a minimum of 9 high... sweet pot... so nice, quick little sesson... but now i'm retreating back to my lower limits
