$0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em

remember the suckouts i had yesterday?

well just came back and bit me on the ass... so now i'm owed again, damn it

worst one of all

i'm in BB with AK

button limps
sb min-raises
i pop it x3 the min raise

call-call

flop K-10-3

SB checks, I bet about 80% of the pot, which is about all the button has left, plus five cents

button goes... sb calls

next card is an 8

i only have 60% of the remaining pot, so i push and get called by Q-Q

BB had K-6

river Q

that was -5 right there, instead of + 7.90

thus, i'm down 6.55 instead of, what... up 6.50 something?

July 11, 2007, 3PM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $2.00 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 9 Players)

small-small stack doubled the blind (which was half of his stack)

we're five handed

i'm SB with 7-7

guy right after him raises it up to 800

i'm 4th in chips with a stack of 1900+. guy raising it has about 3100...

so, i think to myself that the only person i really need to win a race against is the guy who's raising, so i'm all for that

i push over the top at 1100 more... short stack calls... bigger stack thinks, calls

Short = K-5 suit
Big = A-J off

i'm not too uncomfortable with what i see... until A-J hits a set

imho, it was a good spot to make a move and try to become a big stack... didn't work out, but i'm honestly not too bothered by it

July 11, 2007, 3PM: Played 1 hour, Made $9.75 at Full Tilt
$0.10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I 3-tabled for 203 hands.  The second or third hand I played I found some nut that couldn't wait to get it all in with 77 and I had KK so when he flopped his 7 I was able to start the day in a $7 hole.  After that though things went pretty good; my continuation bets were picking up a lot of pots and I picked up a few big hands that were able to hold up.  Maybe should have kept playing I was controlling two of the tables pretty well but could feel myself getting a little sloppy so i left before it caught up to me.

$0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em

sat down with 5 bucks... highest i got was 13.25 or so... ended up with 12.75

it was an instance of picking your target and picking a spot... guy was sitting with 30 some bucks... i was pretty catty early on, just stealing blinds and shit... up to 6 something...

after he lost a couple hands, i noticed he wasn't really good... just tried to catch things a lot

i was the BB with A-8 suit... his pattern was pot bet - pot bet - pot bet whenever he lead out

at the cutoff, he raised it x2 or x3, i forget which, the BB... three callers, myself included

flop was A-J-3 rainbow

2nd to act, i lead out... first caller bails, he re-raises me slightly over x3 what i bet out, which was about half of the pot

sb folds, i call

turn 8

hit my two pair, i'm expecting a pot-bet... i got about 4.65 left and i'd like to get it all in, so i check... he bets pot about 3.60... i raise it up, and he calls with J-10 off suit

river holds

most notable hand other than me giving up A-J off when i felt i was good out of position in a hand that checked down after the flop and Q-High took

July 11, 2007, 12AM: Played 1 hour, Made $5.40 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 9 Players)

this game was a donk fest... 4 players busted in the first 8 hands... 5 in 13...

i was heads up and it went really long cause blinds were so low at the time... i had him all in twice pre-flop when i had an over ace to his pocket queens... which is fine... it's kinda like dutch boyd continuously putting joe hachem in last year... if you keep getting ahead, eventually odds say you'll finish it

couldnt do it tho

then, the VERY first hand he takes the lead on, i lead out... he goes all in over the top, i call

my AK
his 8-5

spikes an 8 on the river

ugh

added in 2 bucks i won heads up

it feels good to win a game against obvious colluders...

i was playing two at once so i hadnt quite noticed the fishy betting patterns til a player brought it up when we were five handed... so, i looked at hand histories and it was pretty obvious

two of them were left when we were four handed... i tripled up busting one of them, the other i nailed after he made me a big stack after an ultra-aggressive bet when i flopped nut straight... but, not a horrible bet

still, the guy went on this tirade calling me a donk, and a horrible player and htis and that and this and that because i bet pre-flop, and couldn't call a short stack's all in on the flop

i told him he wouldnt bust me unless he sucked out

he went all in at one point with Qd-9d and i called with Kc-Qc... but he hit a flush... then proceeded to berate again and again now that i was short stack

so... coming back and busting him felt swell

$0.05/0.10

i got sucked out of a limit omaha hi/lo tourney so i lost -5 there

...but... i got three ridiculous bad beats in my favor at a cash table while i was tilting...

my middle pair, a kicker turned two pair against my opps top pair
i forget the second one
my top pair rivered trips against someone's aces... that was like, 10 bucks

so... yeah, this doesn't make up for ALL of the bad beats i've suffered... but to have three big ones go in my favor in about a 10 minute span

i feel like dimitri nobles or something... all of this went on while i was criticizing some dude at the hi/lo table for calling on the flop hopping for runner-runner low cards to hit is low when i had a set of kings... and he hit is runner low, and a straight

maybe the poker gods were like... 'okay, our bad... that was filthy... here, we owe you'

i got the fuck out of dodge after the last suckout i reeled off

4-tabled 500 hands...i was coolered in the three biggest pots i played so i am pretty happy with my session being virtually even.  i feel like there were a few spots where i missed continuation bets.  one hand that i feel i should have played differently was: CO opens for .35 and i call in the SB with 10 10.  flop was 984 and i check called .6.  turn was a 6 and i check called a dollar...river was an A and i check folded.  i basically don't think i could have played this hand any worse (or any more like a pussy) First I feel like i should reraise preflop in that spot more often than not since i am out of position and would rather take the pot right there.  also if i do decide to call i think on that flop i should lead out for about 3/4 the pot and if he plays back at me just muck it.  if anyone out there reads this hand any input would be helpful.

i'm gonna quit playing cash games. what are you supposed to do when you raise utg with QQ, and the sb reraises bb cold calls and i call to see a flop with no king or ace. flop comes 566. sb checks, bb bets min, i raise, sb checkraises, i push in. he has 55. he reraised from out of position with 55 and hit his 2 outer. what the hell. i know that i called when i was ahead and raised when i was behind, but thats besides the point. never in a million years would i have put him on 55. if he had aces or kings, then i'm okay with going broke. but that didnt happen. i just got unlucky again. again.

i could have folded and watched to see what happened, but there was a fairly good chance i had the best hand, or just 2 overs. and if i had won that hand, i would have walked into first. not bad odds to knockout 2 players either. on the next hand, the other guy went out. one hand headsup, he put me in with K9h vs my A6d. rivered a 9. damn.
