December 20, 2007, 1AM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $67.41 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 129 Players)

was short for almost the whole tourney and stole blinds to stay alive til i played a funky hand to double up with 22 left (18 paid).  then i called a raise OOP against a avg. stack with JJ and the flop came A high, I checked, he checked...turn was a J and i led into it hopin he was slowplaying an A (there were three diamonds on board also) and he folded but it was still a nice pot to get me into the top 10.  its the second break now though and blinds are about to be 250-500 and i have 11k and we are one from the money so hopefully the bubble bursts soon so i still have a stack left to push toward the final table.

Just made a great call with A high on the turn and he hit a 6 outter to make me short stack with 7 left.

3/3, my favorite place to be, i get 3rd in this damn tourney every night it feels like.

well i feel like i played very well all tourney except heads up, i didn't play terrible but i think i got impatient in a few spots.  i lost a coin flip to get down to 24k (vs his 160k) and doubled with J4 v his QQ (oops) then won with A8 v 96 to take a slight chip lead, next hand i had AK and he had A3, it got in and i held.  I was very very lucky but i will take it.

December 20, 2007, 1AM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $130.00 at UB
$1 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

This session was basically just one pot. I raised to 7 with Kings in a massive limp. 2 people called me, the flop was 37J all diamonds. I didn't have a diamond. the first guy checked, I bet 20, the other guy folded, the SB caller called 20. THe turn was an offsuit 2. He leads out mashing pot for like 60, I shoved for 81, he called with 55 with the 5d wth...misses on river so I win a huge pot. Beyond that, just played good small pot poker by taking down numerous pots with c-bets and bets in position after checks with medium pairs.

Poker Journal

I took my 1.75 and turned it into 2.39 which is a .64 cent profit playing.5-.10 limit on b-dog.  I played tight aggressive and it paid off.  I will build this stack by playing beginner sngs on b-dog til I can venture off into other areas of the poker world.  I followed that up by finishing 2nd in a 2.20 beginner sng on b-dog.  I should have won.  My opponent pushed and claimed he wanted a flipament.  I believed him and I was right.  He had 5-8 and I had a6.  He flopped an 8.  That crippled me and he went on to win.  I played perfect for the most part.  I will win more often than not.  roll up to 5.19 now.  MOVIN ON UP! I decided to invest 4.40 in 2 beginner sngs and finished out of the money in both.  Both times with AK once vs aces and once vs 99.  God I hate AK! Well down to .79 cents now.  micro donkament cash game I guess!

$11.70 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 47 Players)

I am an idiot.. got down to 3 players left.  Top 2 get seats, or $215.  I get 3rd which is 3rd and sucks.  3rd has about <2k in chips, I have 5k and 1st has 8k.  We get in a 3 handed pot, I have 26 in bb with flop of 236, I bet out and big stack call, on the turn is x and bet again and he calls, the river is a 2 and big stack moves all in.  Instead of folding and fighting off the 3rd player I call like a moron and loose to 33, a set on the flop.  What a waste.

Quick update, since I was in a rush I did not have time to digest what was really happening.. Which was, 1) I was in a rush to eat dinner as we were late and 2)I was on semi-tilt as the short stack sucked out twice, once on big stack and not too long ago on me, this all affected my play.

December 16, 2007, 5PM: Played 3 hours, Lost $220.00 at Lucky Derby
$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

This is a $300 max buy in game now.  Bought in for the max and doubled up early w/ a lucky flop on the blind, against a guy with over $1g the whole game.  He was playing a lot of hands, betting a lot, and winning most pots by showing down the winner.  I picked up 99 from the small blind and over riased($30), got lots of callers.  Flop was 345 and I overbet($120) the pot.  He was the only caller.  At this point I put him on a pocket pair under my 9's, meaning he had a set or a draw.  The turn was a 7, and I figured the pot was big enough, so I checked.  he bet $50 and I went into the tank.  I should have layed the hand down right here.  Any underpair he has either hit a set or a stright, other than 8's, and he was way under betting for the size of the pot, and the size of his normal bets, he really wanted me to call.  Even though I put him on an underpair i called anyways, a bad call because I didn't want to give up on a big pot for a small bet.  The river brought an A, a card that could have hit him if he was bluffing with air.  he bet $100 and I called again.  He showed 6 8 off suit for the nuts and took it down.  I could hardly believe he called me with that as the second caller preflop, but my read was in the right neighborhood, and I should have saved myself $150.

Against the same guy I made another bad call.  I had Q 4 on the button, limped in.  Flop was QJ9.  Check to me and I bet about the size of the pot, same guy is the only caller.  Turn brings my 4, and I bet again.  he moves in almst instantly, and I call almost instantly.  If I had thought about it I should have put him on a better 2 pair or the K 10 he turned over.  As it was I was just really excited that I hit a had pretty strong and I was getting a lot of action from this guy.  I put him on a naked 10 or K on the flop, and didn't re-asses my read before shoving my last $220 in.  I should have thought it through and layed it down.

After all that I rebought $100 and doubled through the same guy w/ QQ, then got up and left.

$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (17th out of 35 Players)

ran up against one of the luckiest bastards i've seen in a while. early on he won a big pot with a straight after calling a raise with 69suited. against me he called my 1200 raise. i had ak suited flop comes 973 i check he bets and i raise. he calls. we check the turn and i bet the river although i guess not high enough. he says there's too much in the pot so he calls with a 7. he puts me out when the blinds are 500 1000 and we're still at two tables. he calls the bb and i go in for 4000 with ace nine. he calls as do two others. flop comes a94. he goes all in forcing the others to fold. he turns over a4. he catches a four on the turn to knock me out.
