January 2, 2008, 8PM: at Absolute Poker
No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (70th out of 5000 Players)
Starting to get tired of Absolute Poker, will likely be switching to another poker site soon. I would say pokerstars but don't care for them much either. Might be empire poker but I wanna look around first.
I'm finding that my poker playing is better on weekends for some reason. Wonder why.
Ended up going out in 70th place tonight, will post some of the more pivotal hands tomorrow because I am beyond tired at the moment but I will say that if nothing else, I'm proud of myself because I took some serious hits but kept coming back until the very end with I called an All In with A9 and lost to QQ. I had just taken a couple of bad beats though so I think it was the right call.

December 31, 2008, 11AM: Played 2 hours, Lost $255.00 at Limelight
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Lost 220 on AA vs KK, and was actually thinking of laying the KK down preflop. I just knew the guy had AAs, but realized during the hand that I'd be foolish to EVER lay down KK preflop. I slow play, and he raises in small blind to $20, so I raise back to $60. He raises me another $75, so obviously he's ready to put it all in right there. He wasn't on tilt, as a matter of fact, he was playing pretty solid poker and had accumulated over $500. I put him on AA or QQ and said to myself that I'm never going to lay down KK preflop, so I just went all in and he called immediately. Oh well, those all even out in the long run.

January 1, 2008, 3AM: Played 3 hours, 48 minutes, Lost $13.90 at full tilt
$0.50 Pot-Limit Omaha
 kinda bummed about this session as I was up about 140 and lost it all in 3 hands...2 of which I got all in preflop WAY ahead and lost to runner runner straights on both, those didn't hurt too bad the pot that killed me, we had 3 way action for a preflop raise and a baby repop, I was splashing around a little I had KQ98. the flop comes down J T 3 giving me the total wrap, but with 2 clubs. I am first, I check, the next guy pots it for 15 or so then the next guy goes pot over the top for about 70. I had them both covered, but there was still about 30 more in play and judging from the first donkeys play I assumed he would call whatever happened so I made the move all in and as expected both came with. one shows J T A Q for top 2 the other had AAQT so my Q is dead and I don't want the K. unfortunately it comes T right on the run and I am drawing dead followed by the 9 I needed to win. neither had the club draw as it turns out, so it was a very loose call by the AA guy. anyway I win that hand I am up 400 instead I am around even.
kinda funny as I usually get stuck huge first then come back, this started very smooth and went downhill. at least I didn't tube off a ton so I was happy about that...this is the type of deal I can turn into a nightmare.

December 30, 2007, 10AM: Played 4 hours, Made $133.00 at Limelight
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Played at big table, more than half the people had more money than me and wasn't really condusive to winning session. Just one really bad player who overuses all ins, but for the most part not a good table.
Gary arrived after about an hour and I moved over to his table which consisted of mostly non experienced players (not Gary of course) with shorter stacks. I live for these types of environments. Players putting all $80 on draws and top pair. And sure enough, walked into JQ and hit two QQs on flop, slow played and got a good size win (~$90) on first hand. I played against a female who was push small bets on flop and turn. I put her on a Q, but weaker kicker. I should have put her all in on river, but just bet $30 after calling previously. I need to evaluate these situations a little better when I feel I'm 90% good and player cannot lay down hand.
Next hand is actually very very comical. My final hand before heading to the Kings/Suns game, after Gary busts when he hits two pairs against a nut straight. QJ suited in early position and I raise to $10, 3 callers. Flop comes J33, no spades. I bet out $25, and player on button talks out loud saying I must have overs and he can't believe I hit any part of the flop. He thinks about 30 seconds and calls, reluctantly. Turn comes blank, and I bet out $30. Player again talks out loud and says he doesn't think I have any piece of it, and says he has a pair and calls again. River comes A, and I'm thinking he's telling the truth, so I still think my J is good, so I bet another $40. He calls instantly and turns over pocket 66s. What could he have beaten? Any A J 9 is good, I guess he put me on a complete bluff. He proceeds to tell me not to criticize his play. The only comment I made was saying, 'I can't believe you called with 66s, what do you think I had?' as I turned my cards over. He then asks to play heads up and asks me how much money I had in my bankroll! I just mocked him by saying something like, "I should have criticized you more if I knew you that would lead to you playing 66s that way."
I didn't realize at the time, but apparently he didn't like the fact that a few hands previously I mentioned he shouldn't be pushing $60+ with AQ off suite. He pushed me out of a pot when I had AQ suited and I thought he totally overplayed his hand and let him know that. I need to find the sensitive poker players sooner as make for some really good action!

December 31, 2007, 3AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $11.70 at Poker Stars
$11.70 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (20th out of 46 Players)
 Annoyed, get heads up and have the chip lead.
Then I trap agro boy for his stack when he decides aquiring a flush draw on the turn is worthy of his tournament life... he hits.
Now I have 2k and him 5k, I grind on to even the stacks out at 3.5k each. As soon as I get a lead he goes bezerk on me, raising 10xs the BB pre, moving all in pre, shit, the blinds were only 25/50.
I finally trap him with 22 vs his A2, but he escapes.
I could have waited for a better spot but I was sick of his over the top raises and new I had him dominated. What more could I ask for?

$1 Pot-Limit Omaha
just killing an hour before work...was up early on, but I ran into a moron who was playing pretty bad...I flop middle set on a T 6 4 flop with 2 clubs, I pot it and he calls...the turn is a K bringing the flush. I call his all in bet which was like 15 into 60 buck pot..he shows no flush, but a wrap with 9 T J Q and hits the jack, so that 90 would've made the session.
I did have a dream hand but didn't get action...I have AAJT with nut hearts preflop, comes down AKQ with K of hearts and turn is 4 of hearts, but sadly they folded to a small turn bet....sigh.

December 29, 2007, 12AM: Played 7 hours, Lost $600.00 at Deuces Wild
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
I have no idea what's going on. well I have some idea. every time I try to read a book it screws with my game. I've been reading harrington's book on tournaments, and had that in the back of my mind, as well as Joe Nevarro's book on tells. So I've been concentrating on trying to do what I'm told according to those books. It just doesn't seem to fit my style.
I have a feeling I've been playing on scared money, so that's probably part of it, I haven't been nearly as agressive as I naturally should be, as aggressive as I used to be. I need to buck up and be fearless, shove my chips in the pot without worrying.
I also believe I have been running kinda bad lately, people sucking out on me, coolers, just long time before looking at playable hands.
Next time I play I'll make sure I'm ready to shove all my money in on a bluff and lose it in 20 minutes. If I'm OK with that I should play just fine.

December 22, 2007, 4PM: Played 2 hours, Lost $280.00 at Capitol Casino
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Lost majority on really bonehead play. I had $150 to start hand with KK, raised to $50 and had one caller. Flop comes A63, and I bet half my stack. He goes all in and of course I call. I wanted to bet an amount that would give me information, of course it was too much because with $250 in pot, I almost need to call anything after he goes all in. He shows A3 to win the pot, so lose $150 when there's an overcard. To my credit, he was a crazy loose player and had bluffed me out of a few pots, but I need to lay that down. Arhhgg!

December 28, 2007, 1AM: Played 4 hours, Made $10.67 at Full Tilt
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (14th out of 1357 Players)
 ajfdlkajdsf....pretty deep (50ish left) and i raise from the button with J8c to push around short stacks in the blinds, BB thinks for a min then calls, 567 flop and he insta shoves so basically its obv that he was running a stop n go and could have anything so i have to call getting great odds and he flips up the 94 lol. hits the 8 and i am down to 15k instead of 45 with 1-2k blinds...gotta try to get back in it now.
ahh, QQ in early position and i make it 18k (had 92k to start the hand)...Chip leader pushes me all in from the SB and i call. he has AK and i lose a race...i ran good most of the tourney so i can't complain but that woulda been guaranteed final table if i win that race.

December 27, 2007, 7PM: Played 4 hours, Made $333.00 at Horseshoe
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Basically was getting cold cards most of the session. Tried to bluff an old hag when I missed the flop with fours and failed. Also flopped trips with T5 in my BB and someone with AA rivered his 2 outer. Luckily I got away from it because there was a 3 flush on board. Doubled up on final hand of the session when I limped T6 suited in a multiway. SB raised to 13, got 3 callers including me. Flop was T87 with 2 spades. Checked to me and I bet 25, raiser called. I bet 35 after an offsuit 6 turned giving me 2 pair. He raised to 90. I thought for about 3 minutes then put him AI because I didn't think he could possibly have a 9 and he called with Kings and bricked the river.
