February 10, 2008, 7PM: Played 3 hours, Made $412.00 at Logans Ferry Firehall
$1/2 Texas Hold'em

I had an interesting drive there, the firehall I usually attend to every other sunday moved to a new place and of course I got lost trying to find it but eventually found my way.

Two tables were going on when I walked in, average chip stack looked below $150, just bought in for that.

My stack was quickly down to a $100 again after losing with A/K, Javks, and A/10. I picked up Kings in 2nd position I make it $13 to go. Two people call flop comes q/j/6 rainbow. I bet out $25(and planning onto jamming the turn) they both call! Turn comes a 8 I Jam all in for $64 the guy after me beats me in the pot other guy folds. I flip over kings and he shows k/q.. hand holds on the river we both had similiair stack sizes.

After my double up win a couple pots here and there my stack is like 300 and change. I'm on the button theres about 5 limpers, I have pocket 8's I just call small pocket pairs I'd prefer just to call and not get in big trouble with these hands.  Flop comes k/10/8 rainbow. Guy UTG bets out $5 it goes call, call, call, on me I make it $15 to go i made it that cause I want everybody to call and the board really isn't that scary some straight possibilities. Turn is a 5 of spades now with a flush draw out there, guy UTG checks the guy after him comes out with $40 which really made no sense to me folds to me. I think about the hand now I know the guy and how he plays, hes a tight player but can get really stupid with me. A set of kings or tens are out of a question here he would've raised pre flop or re raised the flop. I'm thinking he picked a flush draw up on the turn and got crazy with it or hit 2 pair. So I came to the conclusion I'm making it 200 total here I don't want the flush draw hit here and if he does have 2 pair I'm taking all of his chips as long as the river is safe if he calls, he thinks about it for awhile hes talking hard to fold the nut draw here but I have to.

Won a couple other small pot really not worth talking about. Game breaks a little after 10 and I get to go home and watch Pulp Fiction saweeet

February 11, 2008, 8AM: Played 45 minutes, Made $9.90 at FullTilt Poker
$1.25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 90 Players)

It was very easy. Low buy-in, a lot of fish. Quite a good hands. I was trying to play with monster hands only, a few all-ins with AA and QQ in the first 10 minutes of the tourney allowed me to build almost 5,000 in chips. Afterwards I was just pushing the rest of players with big bets, having pocket 6's, or KQs. And as a result within just about 45 minutes I had 13,000 and 13 players of 90. After that I checked "sitting out" button and left for a meal. When I get back I have discovered, that I finished 3rd. Not a bad result for my 1st tournament on FullTilt.

February 10, 2008, 9PM: Played 3 hours, Lost $160.00 at Bellagio
$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Played really well.  Considering some of the bad situations I was delt, I'm very happy with my result.  As I left I realized that I was actually playing my best becuase I wasn't so results oriented, which I need to be to play pro.  I had AA 3 times.  Lost $80+ twice and won $7 in blinds another time.  Had to muck my QQ, got rivered for big all in pots twice, just was getting hit from all sides.  And through it all I played reat, and kept a level head.  I had to rebuy after losing my initial $300 buy in on a good read and ugly river, then was up about $100 overall at one point.  Lost about $80 of that and the 3 action players left.  This was the time to leave, but I didn't realize that they were really THE life of the game.  They left, the table rocked up and I lost about $200 w/ bluff attempts and chasing mised draws.  Hit my 3 hr mark and bounced.  I might try to play like 4 hrs no matter what from now on.  3 to 5 seems to be the sweet spot.

February 10, 2008, 9PM:
Dealing and proping

I'm a dealer at a very slow casino and every day between five and seven the game takes a nose dive.  Well I get off shift at 6:30 and every night the night dealers push me into playing to help keep the game going.  I don't mind helping out the home team but I also need to prop almost every day to start the game.  Between playing to start the game and helping over the hump in the early evening I'm blowing the meek amount of tolks i make all day. It is starting to piss me off, I know that some of you are dealers and I was wondering if anyone had any good advice on how to hold onto my money a little better.

February 10, 2008, 1PM: Played 56 minutes, Lost $26.00 at Full Tilt
$26 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (129th out of 401 Players)

Another super sat into the $322 main event, I already have a seat for it but thought of trying to pick up some cash.

top 32 get seats...  I get destroyed my 1st hand I play.

Raise with A9 and flop Q94 two hearts, me Ace of hearts, I bet out and 56 raises me, I call and turn the 7 hearts.  So I lead out AGAIN.  This time the agro fuck moves all in with... a straight draw, 6 outs since one can't be a heart.. it hits.

I'm left with about 100 or so in chips.. I grind it all the way back up to above average, things are looking good..

I pick up AKs and raise, agro donk moves in with ATs and beats me.. annoying, that is a fold hand in his spot!

February 10, 2008, 1AM: Played 4 hours, Made $130.00 at Vandergrift Firehall
$1/2 Texas Hold'em

Well theres not a whole lot to say about this nite.. walked in about 1:30 in the morning bought in for about $150 little below the average chip stack size.

My stack is about $120 called a couple hands didn't catch anything.. 5th positon I have Kd/Qc I make it $10 to go folds around to the SB he calls and the BB calls... flop comes Js/9s/6d.. both blinds check I should bet out here I think but I didn't.. turn is 10d.. so i made the nut straight.. SB bets $20, BB calls, it's on me I came to the conclusion really quick I was jamming all in here so I shoved.. SB calls, BB folds.. SB shows 8s/7s the bottom straight plus a spade draw, hand holds on the river.

Other then that just got blinded away basically.. pretty dull night not to much to say.

February 10, 2008, 2AM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $78.21 at Full Tilt Poker
$2.25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 237 Players)

SOUR TASTE IN MY MOUTH!!!! I played a great tournament and steadily chipped up after I lost the very first hand of the tournament with KK. I made what I think was the right laydown with 88 on a flop of 456 and just played very smart. The final table was full of maniacs so I trapped them with my big hands and then attacked all the weak tight players.

Going into heads-up play, maniac had 250,000 and I had 150,000. I steadily just played small-ball, letting him make mistakes and me capitalizing. After a bit of a grind I took the chiplead. Then came this hand which basically shattered my chances to win the tournament:

Full Tilt Poker Game #5195915303: $2 + $0.25 Tournament (39377280), Table 4 - 1200/2400 Ante 300 - No Limit Hold'em - 5:30:49 ET - 2008/02/10
Seat 1: NatePring (197,336)
Seat 2: InkyDink (158,164)
NatePring antes 300
InkyDink antes 300
NatePring posts the small blind of 1,200
InkyDink posts the big blind of 2,400
The button is in seat #1
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to NatePring [Ah Td]
NatePring calls 1,200
InkyDink raises to 157,864, and is all in
NatePring calls 155,464
InkyDink shows [9s Ts]
NatePring shows [Ah Td]
*** FLOP *** [8c Jh 3s]
*** TURN *** [8c Jh 3s] [Qh]
*** RIVER *** [8c Jh 3s Qh] [5d]
InkyDink shows a straight, Queen high
NatePring shows Ace Queen high
InkyDink wins the pot (316,328) with a straight, Queen high
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 316,328 | Rake 0
Board: [8c Jh 3s Qh 5d]
Seat 1: NatePring (small blind) showed [Ah Td] and lost with Ace Queen high
Seat 2: InkyDink (big blind) showed [9s Ts] and won (316,328) with a straight, Queen high

That turn card was just sick. It was also the difference between me making $70 more dollars or not....man I'm pissed...

February 9, 2008, 9PM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $8.52 at FT
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 956 Players)

KO, 1,2,3,4,5

6 of 339 at break.  First table was loose and fast.  Took some gambles and had to get lucky once.  Once moved picked up the blinds once, then doubled + flopping bottom set vs top 2 plus an all-in.

17 of 107 left at second break.  Now that I have a decent stack, I am being more careful.  Also, my big hands have come on the button or in the blinds.  I have taken the smaller pots and built slowly instead of risking seeing a flop.  I know that once the money hits the chips will fly for a bit and I can pick my spots. No big money until top 5, so will be patient and pick spots while others gamble up.

Third break 12 of 33. Had toget lucky to stay alive. Couldn't find a hand this hour and got myself short.  Played A7d in early mid and got raised by a big stack. Called and got 2 diamonds on the flop. I pushed the rest of my stack to see a set of kings. Caught the diamond on the river.  I have to stay aggressive and trust my instincts.

Picked up TT in the sb with only the button raising. I push to see AA. Good tourney for me though.
