June 12, 2008, 11AM: Lost $4,000.00
$4,000 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament

I will eventually break this all down to the respective casinos and tourneys but for now this is just a overall view.
I got crushed in Vegas. Same stuff that is happening here.

I had 2 tourneys that I went out with AA one was against Q8 off suit and the other was against a smaller pair that hit a set.

One I went out with my AQ vs. A10 and she caught a 10 (this was the Ladies WSOP tourney)

One tourney went out with A2 and the big blind woke up with AK suited, (I was very short stacked) can't complain in this one.

Cash games killed me too

One memorable hand was my QQ in the big blind where I raised 5xs the big blind got called in 5 spots, flop a set of Q(top set), check raise the guy who bet he then shoves on me all in I call and he makes his flush on the river.

Another hand KK pre, go all in get called my AJ off A right on the flop no waiting.

Anyway I could go on and on about the bad beats but that seems to be all you hear when you are walking around the rio or any other casino poker room for that matter so I wont bore anymore.

I still had fun in vegas and the Rio really had things running way better than in previous years so that was nice and I will be heading back down at the beginning of July for the casino employee's event so hopefully my bad run of sick suck outs will be over by then........ thanks for all the good thoughts guys, I appreciate it

June 10, 2008, 9PM: Played 3 hours, Made $9.55 at Full Tilt Poker
$12 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (80th out of 1026 Players)

244 of 574 at 1st break.  61 of 238 at 2nd break.  Get down to ~9x BB with blinds 600/1200.  LP pushes for about half my stack and I call with QK in the SB.  He shows 64s and hits a pair on flop, straight on turn, and better straight on river.  Next hand I have 22 on the button.  One before cut-off goes all-in for ~12k and I call my remaining stack of ~7k.  He has A6o and boards pairs twice so my three pair loses.  Sucks how everything can be looking so good with a potential deep run in each then I don't even make back what I put in to both tournaments.

June 10, 2008, 2AM: Played 1 hour, Made $41.00 at PokerStars
$1 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Weeeeeeee

I had $104 in my Stars account and had not been playing there at all lately.  I don't like the structures b/c the first levels of tourneys have very little play.  I don't like the interface.  Anyways, I just had not been playing and with enough money on FTP I decided to just cash out $100 of it.

I then decided to just play cash with my $4 and move up to the next limits the second I could.  I played .05-.10 for a little while and won with AK vs KQ to get to about $7.

I moved to .10-.25 and after falling to about $5, doubled with AK v QQ and had a little over $10.

I moved to .25-.50 and actually chipped up at this level instead of getting it all in.  I hit $21 and moved straight to .50-1.00.

On the second hand of .5-1 UTG raised to 3.  MP reraised to 12.  I shoved with AK for my last $21.  UTG folded but MP called.  Another reason I hate Stars is that they don't show the hands in an all in pot in cash games.  I had to assume that he had 99+ or AQ+.  The flop came a miserable QT7.  Q on the turn and a Q on the river.  I showed my AK and waited for the pot to be shipped to the other guy but he mucked (looked inthe HH it was KJ lol).

$45.  I decided that was enough to have another check sent to me in a few days to empty my Stars account.

February 10, 2008, 9PM: Played 6 hours, 4 minutes, Lost $200.00 at Forrests
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

doubled early when i flopped a set and got it allin vs asohrt stack on a straight draw, a short stack with top pair and BJ, who flopped top pair and a flush draw. nice hold. didnt do anything for awhile. then this older guy came in. i think he was pretty much wasted and he coudlnt play worth a damn. so i waited for a spot to get it in against him. i had AQ in the bb and everyone limped. this guy wanted to raise but he couldnt figure how to put his chips out without it being a string bet. i was about to make it $30 more to isolate him, but the dealer flopped it without my option. anyway, flop came down As4s5h. everyone checked around to him and he bet $100 into about a $14 pot. at this point i put him on an ace weaker than mine or some small pair, but i know he could have a flush draw. i'm certain that my hand is best, so i check raise to put him allin for about $120 more. he calls. the board comes 5s, 7s. 4 spades on board and i dont have one. i turn my hand up. he looks at his cards and the board for long time like he's trying ti figure out what he has. all the player and some of the people watching start saying everything that can beat me and asking him if he has this or that, trying to help him. "do you have a spade? all you need is one.""do you have a six? and six beats him." so he turns over a six, 56h to beat me. whatever happened to one player to a hand? i dont think he understood he had a straight til someone told him. nice suck out. i had a little left over and a couple of hands later, he doubled me when i moved allin preflop with QQ for $75 and he called with Q5h. but i lost another big pot soon after. i only smooth call a raise with JJ. flop comes Q high, we check it around, the button moves all like i thought he would. he bet $80 into abou a $30 pot. i call with JJ. he shows me AJo. spikes an ace on the turn to beat me. wtf man? at the end, i gave away $120 when the game was near braking. this guy started talking about moving allin so he could go. so he moves in and shows jacks. the very next hand he moves in again. i have T7d and ask him if he will run it twice if i call. he says sure and turns over KK. jeez, back to back monsters after declaring he was gonna move in? i missed both times anyway...i thought my shitty luck was over after winning 3 sessions in a row, but i got thumped back to earth tonight with 3 pretty aweful bad beats. gay

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (34th out of 205 Players)

6 handed deep stack. i feel like i played the best tournament of my life. if i had a read on someone i went with it, regardless of whether i had a hand or not. this allowed me to gather a pretty deep stack right of the bat, which in turn allowed my to keep the pressure on my opponents. won a big pot with 99 vs 77. flop was 578 and he check called. turn was a 6 for my straight and he called my allin bet. later, a player moved in on me for about 11 bb and i made an ambitious call from bb with 88, but i knew he was weak. he showed T7o. nice shove buddy, he hit a ten. then i got set up very nicely by a good player named matt brady. he had just gotten very lucky when aipf with Q6 vs AQ to double up when a 6 hit. i raise early position with K9o and he calls from bb. flop is AQ8, he checks, i bet 5000 into about 9000. he check raises to 10k, leaving himself with about 18k. i know that he is good enough player to checkraise here with nothing, hoping i was just continuation betting, and i think that he bets to minimum so that if i reraise, he can get away from it. i9 feel like he will fold every hand AJ and weak here, so i put him allin with nothing. he has AK and i'm drawing basically dead. he was smart enough to realize that his check raise would look like a steal to a good player like me. nice play. i still had plenty of chips after this. but a new player came in raising the first 3 hands and winning with no showdown. so when he raised for the 4th straight hand, i move in with 88. he has AK and i lose the race and bust. 6 tables left and they paid 4 tables and i have to make a move with nothing. i'm proud of myself for being willing to go with my instinct, but i wish my awareness had been a little better, knowing that folding would have asuredly gotten me into the money.

June 9, 2008, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Made $63.00 at Pinball Casino
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 24 Players)

Got up after a long night at work and decided to head in and play and get some lunch.

First few hands I got sucked in with an A10 against an AK.  We both flopped and ace, and then I turned an open ender.  The guy checked on the turn, and I bet, he just called.  The river was blank, then he comes out betting, I call and lose.  This guy could not even remember what he had after the hand was over.  I told him I wished he made two pair, and he didn't get the fact that I would have made my straight.  With a little help and comedy from the dealer, he said, "so what would have happened if I made two pair?" The dealer jokingly says, "A FLUSH".  Made me laugh cuzz he believed that.

So, I was shortstacked, and doubled up.  Then I started playing some fun poker.  Made a solid bet on the turn with 4 straight cards out there to get a guy off of his set.

Raised UTG and stole the blinds with 23, and showed it, so I could mess around with peoples heads.

The best one was, I was in the small blind, get two limpers, and I move all in.....WITHOUT LOOKING! Everyone folds, and I tell them I didnt look and roll over my junk.  The very next hand, a guy min raises and I take a quick peek at AQ...I move all in quick again.  He thought I hadnt looked and called me down with A10.  Yippee.

Skated along to the final table, stole some blinds to stay alive and just waited till the donks busted out.  Flopped second pair and pushed...with the lowest stack and blinds eating me up.

Good times....good times!

Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (154th out of 2659 Players)

freeroll once a week to the weekly final.

Had to go before the blinds ate me up A10 vs. 88. could have waited but 5 times the BB is not that much A10 was good enough.

I thought i would for the next month try some step tourneys and so on and not always play live or sit and gos.

LOL prob not but i will try some new tourneys and games Ohama H/L. maybe some HORSE tourneys.

Im burning out on holdem like they say its time for a game change for a while, then come back to NL texas. The game just frustrates me now at least but i will change up for a while and come back to Texas. anyone else ever get burned up on one game from playing it all the time. I mean like the situations never change, i just wanna game change.

:) happy poker :)

$0.25 No-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Just dinking around while I catch up on some computer stuff.  Pretty fun little game to play.  They actually play pretty solid for what limit it is.

Every once in a while though, you get a donkey just not having any clue, calling you down with middle pair and no low draw on the turn.

I made an interesting and complex call on the turn when I had numerous outs for the river...got there on one end, with a weak low and ended up hogging it.

For some reason, people like to try to bluff with a small bet..which is weird to me....well not so weird, but in retrospect, I made the call with actually calculating outs and probability of one or the other holding up.
