$30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 59 Players)

$30 No limit Hold'em freeze out.  3,300 starting chips and 20 minute blinds.

I just have zero luck at this place, sure hope that changes soon.

This format is much bettet than the former freeroll, now $10 rebuy tournament. Saw some familar faces but there were a lot of new people at this.  Didn't realize so many don't like the rebuy tournies, but at this point I can't blame them

Got taken out when I had J/J and the other guy had 8/8 and caught an 8 on the river.

1st - $490
2nd - $300
3rd - $200
4th - $145
5th - $105
6th - $80

$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (32nd out of 62 Players)

Did the super addon and it made no diff.  When BB came to me (500/1000) I had Q/Q and 4 callers.  Rasied it 5,000 and one guy called.  Flop came two spades and all cards below my queens.  Pushed all in and he still called with his flush draw.  Of course the next two cards were also spades, even though he only needed on.

Mike also played and made the final table.  He ended up finishing 5th and it paid $145, so he won $90 after buy ins.

$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 10 Players)

Played well but the guy to my right had a horseshoe up his ass.  Last hand summed it up well. KK in big vs his button. He calls and I make it 4x, he calls flop 348. I bet and he pushed all in. I call to see K4.  Of course he spikes his 2 outer.  He had gotten lucky on me 3 times before and I had waited until I could get him in a position I knew was bad before making my move.  The thing is, I went into heads up down5 to 1 in chips and had nearly evened it the hand before this one.  Oh well, played well. Shit happens.

March 4, 2009, 7PM: Played 2 hours, 15 minutes, Lost $20.00 at Snookers
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (22nd out of 68 Players)

They've now changed the $1,000 guaranteed freeroll to a $10 buy in.  All rebuys and add on prices remain the same but the chips have doubled.  2,000 to start, rebuys/add ons are $10 = 2,000; $25 = 6,000 and the break time super add on of $35 = 12,000 chips.

Never really had anything good most of the night.  In the first hour I split one hand K/Js vs K/Js.  Other than that I didn't win a hand until the last two before break.  Won with 8/8 and 7/7, my only move was all in and they both stood up.

Only won one hand after the break with 10/6s...BB special, flop gave me a flush.  Slow played flop and everyone checked.  Guy to my right bet the turn ($1,000) and I went over top for my last $3,200 and everyone else but him folded.

Another crappy night full of crappy hands.

$25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 32 Players)

Finally i ran well and played my game to a T. Its really fun when you know you are better than the other player and you "punk" them into shoving their chips in. I really was tight the whole tourney until the final table.. The blinds were 4 and 8 thousand when we all reached it. The first fivwe players to leave the table were just forced all in because of their SS. Then from their i really tried to focus on evryhand and understand each player. There was one guy i picked up on his bluffs and i raised all in with 8 6 offsuit in a huge hand with him the flop was 7 10 A. He was so mad but i love when your right then you show the bluff and they feel like a dagger was shoved down their neck. Ended up chopppin it was my buddy mike who made it the whole way. SWOOOOOOP

February 23, 2009, 8PM: Played 45 minutes, Broke Even at Snookers
Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (52nd out of 125 Players)

$1,000 guaranteed no limit hold'em tournament.

Got there 25 minutes early and was 46 on the waiting list, wtf?? Turns out the state has been shutting down some of the charity games/tournaments (Slap sticks, 5 star to name a few) so it's pushed people to Snookers.  The plus side is that the prize pool has grown larger and now 1st prize is usually over $700, with as many as 11 getting paid.

Took about 45 minutes for me to get in the game and the blinds were already at 200/400 with a couple of minutes until they were to go up again.

Didn't get anything worth playing the 1st 5 hands.  Then it was my turn to be the BB and it was 300/600, leaving me with 400 chips after posting.  Had J/6s and there were 3 callers.  Flop came with a 6 so I stuck with the hand and caught another on the river to make trips.  Made it to the break with 3700 and didn't do an add on.  Didn't get anything to play and the blinds went through me, 500/1000.  Got K/Js and pushed my last 2,200 in and the BB called with K/10o.  Flop came a flush and the turn gave me a Royal flush.  A little later I had A/Qs and called an all in bet from a guy with A/Ko and lost.  In hindsight maybe this wasn't a good move on my part since I called off my chips.  Might have been better to pass and try to use my chips as power, but who can fold A/Qs? Specially in a tournament where the blinds go up so quickly.
