October 30, 2009, 3PM: Played 35 minutes, Lost $39.33 at full tilt
$0.10 Pot-Limit Omaha

was just killing a half hour before work and ran into two hands against the same guy.  first one I have some trash with a suited ace and flop top and bottom, it's checked around on flop, turn pairs bottom pair.  board is A K 6 6, guy had KK and slowplayed it nicely, but I didn't lose much here.  Couple hands later I have total dogshit in my bb, it's raised under the gun and everyone calls so I come with.  I have 10 9 7 2, flop is J 8 6 for total wrap.  SB pots it I call, original raiser jams it, I think about it and decide to go for it (after checking I am a 54/46 dog).  But I foolishly went in and he shows top set, of course the board paired on the turn and I could've saved about 8 bucks, very poor play as it's likely the times I hit the turn he is committed anyway, so a call and see approach is better, if a total brick comes I am getting 4 to 1 on the river call as a 3 to 1 dog so it would've been an easy call, but on the times the board pairs I am stuck with 0 outs.  On my little run from 4 bucks to where I am now this is exactly the type of play I have been staying away from by avoiding calling with shitty hands.
UGGGHHH as I was typing this up I had two crap hands against another guy back to back.  First hand I flop set and flush draw he flops double gutter and rivers it.  Second one he flops top set on a terrifying board and checks it allowing me to turn a smaller set.  Seems like this session had a rigged feel to it like I have often bitched about.  I would never ever check top set on K 9 8 flop with flush draw possible, why give 3 people a free draw when half the deck ruins you? Oh so you can bust one off in me of course.

October 29, 2009, 11PM: Played 3 hours, 55 minutes, Made $1.41 at full tilt
$0.10 Pot-Limit Omaha

was just sitting down initially to get the kids in bed and managed to get stuck about 35.  was completely ready for bed, but just kept a steady climb back to even so stuck it out. then I got to within a few bucks of even and couldn't make up that last little bit, then finally got lucky in a multiway pot with the naked A and 3 to the flop flush.  dug out a bluff bet and took down my little win.  the hand that got me stuck is that one I can never avoid when I go in with the 2 pair or trips, but I have AAxx with nut diamonds, raise on my button pre, flop is J 7 4 with 2 diamonds, get into a war with a fool who had just total garbage, J 4 9 K, no diamonds, but somehow I can't catch, I should also point out my other two cards were a gutterball to that flop, so I had a pile of outs but lost 20 on the hand.  Never seems like I play that scenario very well.

October 28, 2009, 12AM: Played 2 hours, 6 minutes, Lost $120.00 at Venitian - Las Vegas
$120 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (27th out of 130 Players)

Had great table image and presence.

Playing solid and reading well..

One mistake with old guy.

Raise early with 77, he strong called with AA.  I felt strength from him but not sure how.  Put him on pair or AK, AQ.

Flop comes down J23 all hearts, me 7hearts.  I check and he looks at whole cards and checks behind.  Turn bring 2.  I bet out 3k and he go all in for 5k total.  I call he shows two black Aces.

My read, completely off but directly on.  On in the sence that I read his strenth, inexperience and inability to play "correctly".  Off in the sence that I did not interperit off of this and correctly realize he had an overpair and was a scared calling station.

Oh well...

October 27, 2009, 6PM: Played 2 minutes, Lost $20.00 at Kaloosa
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

6 handed starting the game and after one rotation i was up about $80. then the stupidest thing to happen to me at the poker table in a long long time. i make it $9 with AA, the sb and bb both call. flop 88Q. they check to me. i bet $15, the bb check raises to $50. i know this guy. sure he could have an 8 here, but his range for checkraising is any queen and very often a stone cold bluff, so i put him allin for $21 more and he calls.i turn over my aces and he doesnt show. the turn is a 5 and the river is a 6. he goes "i think i got a straight" and turns over 79o. called off his stack with no pair and no draw and basically drawing dead. so i figured i was still running bad from the last time i played 2 weeks ago, so cut my losses and got up and left. here are the odds just for fun.

October 24, 2009, 4PM: Played 3 hours at Mandalay Bay
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

First time playing at the mandy... there were a couple regs there, one of whom i've played with at luxor (he took M's stack with a very sneaky boat that night).  I had revenge in mind which is never good, he outplayed me twice costing me a total of 250.  revenge is never a good idea.  there was a guy there that claimed to be "in a total differnt class" then the rest of the table, claims to play high stakes, he was drunk and agro and helped me regain all my money in a multiway pot where i had AA. overall i played well except against that reg.

October 24, 2009, 5PM: Played 3 hours, 42 minutes, Lost $20.00 at Hooters - Missoula
$220 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 30 Players)

Blah, Grinding, ran up from 2k to 15k then made two stupid mistakes...

1) missed bet on donk kid who is agro.  I raise pre.. he call, he bet small on flop, me call, turn he bets less than he did on the turn... huge sign of weakness there.. don't raise just call.  River he freeze and give up and check.  I again don't make play at it, his Ace high beats my KQ high.. idiot

2)In BB look at one Queen and check with 3 limpers.. I see QQ post flop and a board of J27 flush draw.. I bet, rock calls, turn flush card and pay him off on turn AND river.

Other than that played great and picked spots

October 20, 2009, 2PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Made $65.00 at Sandia
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Was down most of the session.  Played too aggressive again.  Ran into a hand against meat-head Bill.  Have JhJd.  Raise to $13 and everyone folds to Bill in the small blind who calls.  Heads up to the flop.  9c 5c 4c Bill check raises my bet of $20 to $80.  I think he has an over or two and probably a high club.  The turn gets weird with a 10c.  Bill checks to me and right away my read is that he hated that card.  I don't think he is acting and I start to wonder if he just called with a bigger over pair and no club.  I fire $60 into $184 to find out.  He calls.  The river is 5h and he goes all-in which is me all-in for $80.  No way I can call.  He said he had 99.  Terrible play on my part.

Made a nice bluff against Syd and a bitter old veteran.  I limp with 4h5h.  Veteran and Syd are in the blind and there is one other limper.  Flop comes 3d 7h Qc Syd bets first $15.  This felt like a muscle bet so I float to take it on the turn.  Syd plays me like a knit and shows a lot of respect to my bets.  Unfortunately, the small blind also calls.  Turn is the Qh.  Veteran fires $25 into $49 and Syd calls.  I am thinking right here that they both probably have a Q.  But they are the blinds so they may not have a kicker and I have a tight table image.  I raise $100 on top.  They both go into the tank and end up folding.  They kind of knew they each had a queen but put me on 33 or 77.

October 17, 2009, 3PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Made $660.00 at Sandia
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Played with a crazy aggressive Texan and an amazing calling station.  Got up right away with AA and one caller.  J22 board and I just bet $25 every street.  Three limpers to me in the hijack and I have the As9s. I call, the cutoff calls, and the button makes it $8.  Everyone calls.  The flop is Qs 8h 6s.  Crazy Texan bets $15 and I raise to $45.  Calling station calls of course and Texan calls.  Turn is the 5s.  Station checks and Texan bets $80 into $195.  I call and Station calls.  River is the 3h.  Station checks and Texan goes all-in for $30 into $435.  I just call here thinking that the Station actually will fold to a raise.  I was probably right as he had JJ.  So crazy.

October 10, 2009, 12PM: Played 5 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $300.00 at Sandia
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Pretty awful session.  Played too aggressive.  Down the whole session.  Got back to even and the lost a big one.  In the big blind with QcJc.  Two limpers and the small blind come along and I check.  Flop is Qs Kc 9h.  Checked to me and I bet $10 into $8.  Folded to small blind who calls.  Turn is the Ac.  He checks to me and I am thinking that he may have a queen.  He is a super tight player so I think a bet here gets him off of the queen.  I fire $20 into $26.  He min raises me to $40.  At this point I think he has two pair.  A set is out of the question with the high board.  I think he is tight enough to fold a medium two pair hand so i re-raise $100 more.  He ends up going all-in for another $75 into $304.  I know I am behind here when I call.  Worst case I have 8 outs and the best case I have 17 outs.  He flips over Jh10c and I miss my 8 outs.
