January 31, 2012, 2AM: Made $2.01 at micro limits
Texas Hold'em

today i realized that you cant bluff in micros.i knew he had trips but i keep on betting, thinking he would think i were full...not the case.so i will never bluff again its just not profitable in limit micros.i could of won more but i went on tilt for a few mins after that hand and i got suck out on in big pots at least 4 times.a little more discipline is what i need.this may sound funny to some people, but this is a challenge for myself to build a bankroll from scratch.it is slow but i feel it will make me proud when all is said and done.my bankroll is now at 25.26.i may wait till im up to 35 or 40 before i move on to .05/.10 well see PEACE

$175 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (38th out of 98 Players)

was playing really well. had a commanding table presence. and an above avg chip stack until i ran into the short stack when i had 10 10 vs aa and flop came 8 high.  3 hands later i get 10 10 again and same short stack has 22 flop again 8 high and he hit a set. i bet out 2k he shoved for 8 i should have folded then. he was a tight player and would only shove if i was probably beat.  just played to fast.  that crippled me a lil.  i made a good comeback after being down to about 3 bbs.  very tight aggressive play. then again caught myself playing without thinking.  cuttoff raises to 3k a decent player but had his moments of bad play and should have busted a few times.  loose player on button calls i make it 12.5 to go leaving me only 5 behind. cuttoff insta shoves. 9dealer folds i should have not pot committed myself but made it like 8 to go instead i have to call and he has aa and knocks me out

i had a good run of cards and my hands held up early on to build i decent stack. got moved to a new table and the cards went dead. i'm second biggest stack on the table and the only guy that has me covered is to my right and he is a complete idiot. he got his chips by calling big bets and allins when he was behind and sucked out each time to win. 2 outs, 3 outers, 4outers. just lucky as fuck. he limps utg for 600, the sb limps and i have QQ in the bb and raise to 2100. he calls, sb folds. flop is 9c7h3c. i lead out for 3500 and he calls. turn is 6h, putting 2 flush draws out there. i think he may have a draw or something like A9 and i dont think he's ever going to fold either one of those hands, so i overbetshove for around 12k and he snap calls me with J9h. river is a heart and i lose. fml

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament

aussie millions event #11

early on nothing was hitting and my stack dwindled from 5k to 3k. then i doubled with AK vs KQ when another guy got impatient and overplayed his hand. i won a couple other pots to chip up nicely. then i raise middle position with AQo and get 2 callers. then this young agro kid who i've played with a bunch squeezes from the bb. normally i would fold AQ instantly for 80% of my stack, but i thought there was a very good chance that i have him dominated, so i call one of the other callers comes along for his stack as well. he has TT and the bb kid has 44. i brick off, the river is a 4 for this kid to triple up and have a massive stack. i only have 10bb left and i sit and wait for a good hand to shove. one min raises in front of me and i jam 88. then another guy behind me reshoves his very big stack and another shorter stack comes in too. i think i'm in bad shape but luckily i'm up against AKd and AKh. the turn puts a heart flush draw out there but my 88 holds.

then things get crazy. i still dont have a lot of chips but enough to be patient. a new kid moves in on my right and he's not doing a good job covering his cards, so sometimes i can see his hand and i look for a way to exploit it. it folds to him on the button and he min raises to 800 with A2h. i see that he is not strong, so i make it 2500 from the sb with J4o but to my surprise and disappointment he shoves allin over the top of me and i have to fold. the very next hand he min raises and i can see the Kd but not the other card. i have JTh and call. both blinds come in, so the pot is pretty good. flop QhTs7c. everyone checks. turn is 4h, so i pick up a flush draw. the sb leads out for 1200 and the kid next to me goes allin. my hand is not strong here and normally i would fold, but for some reason i convince myself that my JTh is ahead here, so i the rest in. i knew the sb was folding and he did. the kid shows me KQd, river is a brick and i'm out. i am not happy with myself. and this is one of the few times i lost a tourney where i actually made a mistake as opposed to getting unlucky. i dont what i was thinking. very bad spot there.

$10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I'm so fucking annoyed and frustrated right now.

Start down in lower games waiting.

Play short 5-10 NLH and pick off the two weak players to have a solid win.

The lower limit no limit breaks and we fill with low limit idiots.

I trap this one guy 3 times and every time he escapes.
The final one just blows my mind. Flop Q35 and lead, he shoves all in for 400 with A2 and spikes the wheel.  Leaves very next hand.

Other donk ran his stack up to 3k on a min buy in in the first 30 min. Down to 700 and gets paid off constantly.

Trap him with two pair. Board of AK7. His donk ass puts pressure on me the whole way with AT. Spikes a T on the river when I have a whole 200 left and the pot is 2k.

Fuck them!!

December 29, 2011, 8AM: Played 6 hours, 12 minutes at Napa Valley Casino
$10 Pot-Limit Omaha

Lost the biggest pot of my life tonight in PLO.
A little over 10k in middle.

See flop 6 ways with a pot bet pre from button.

Flop is QJ7 two spades.

I have QQT8, no spades in the cutoff.
UTG leads out pot, everyone folds to me.
I flat and button flats.
UTG is reckless and I want to see a "safe" turn card before the pot gets out of control.

Turn is a sweet 4, board is now QJ74 two spades.
I have 2,900 left and the pot is now 1300 ish.

UTG bets out 1k. I raise all in.
Button tanks and comes over the top for 4.5k
UTG now tanks...  and calls.

They discuss one or twice. I'm sure button has set and flush as well and decide once.
I'm not sure what is the better option here. In my mind they have;
Case jack, plus 5 straight cards plus 5 flush cards for 11 outs.
Why should I give them two shots at it?
Plus I like the thrill of scooping and keeping it natural.

River comes king and UTG gets rewarded for his out if position aggressive play by making the straight.

Oh well, I continue on and almost fully recover.

Will have to get advice on when and when not to run it twice.

UTG AT92 nut flush draw
Button KJJx king high flush draw.

December 4, 2011, 11AM: Played 5 hours at MGM
$80 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 42 Players)

Played so well!!! 3rd was a disappointing.  early on just started buying chips hardly contested.  bluffed a lot of small pots and had a hand when called.  resistance here and there but not much.  I was either 1st or 2nd in chips at the 1st table until I got Q 10 on the button and a guy in 2nd position limp then called my small raise.  flop comes Q 2 9 he bets small i call then k turn he bets small and i call then river a 4 he checks and i value.  he calls with Q 8 next hand i get aa a raise and he calls he flops an a he shoves i call he has a 7 and from there the stack just grew i grew my chips to about 35k with about 28 players left we started with 6000. total chip count was 252k so i already had final table chips.  continued to show my dominance winning every hand by the river.  i coast to final table with about 80k i get aa a few hands into it and the kk not long after and increase to 90k after knocking out the 2 short stacks.  then it was basically a shove fest at the table and i was card dead after that and all my steal attempts were getting shoved against.  we get down to 6 and i was still in command of the chip lead i agree to the stupid bubble getting 80 back ( i need to stop doing that i enjoy the button play) but it was a cheap tourney and i was trying to be friendly then they wanted to chop and i refused we get down to 3 players i have lost the chip lead and was actually the bottom in chips.  somebody else offered a chop i would have taken but the chip leader kept talking about how she was wanting to leave the whole time and now had to consult her husband.  at that point i said lets just play.  it was 650 or so chop value and it was 450 for 3rd and 600 for 2nd.  one guy kept shoving and she had just gotten a little lucky at the end with a couple of suck outs. she then wanted to chop but i said just lets play knowing I'm the superior player by far.  about 4 hands into that i min and a half raise from the button the small blind shoves like he does so often bb (chip leader) folds i make the call he shows a 7 flop to low cards and an a tuns a k rivers a 7. bullshit that was! But shit happens i knew i was going to have to not get sucked out against but thought he had like kq not a 7 and hit just the 3 outer.  but still felt good to have been able to build such a commanding lead even though it all went to waste with such few good hands.  ak once aa twice kk twice 99 once and that was it for 5 hours.  and 99 i had to fold to raise reraise preflop. so happy with my performance and always good to come out ahead.  was my 1st tourney and mgm very soft field (or maybe just my 1st table)

we started with 20k in chips and i'm taking 28k into day 2 on sunday. the average will end up being about 80k with blinds at 8/1600. so i dont have much time to sit around and wait. could be a pretty short day. it was just one of those days when nothing went right. everytime i got a hand to play, someone had a better hand, or i missed from out of position. i dont think i even flopped top pair one time in 6 hours. at one point i had AK 4 times in 8 hands. i raised each time, got called by at least one player each time. missed the flop each time. lost the pot each time. continuation betting didnt work. nothing works. i did give away a bunch of chips late. i raise late position near the end of the day with T7o. the table was all old people and they were playing very tight, waiting for the session to end, so i tried to steal a bit. anyway, the bb defends. flop is K96, so have a gutshot. he checks, i bet 3000, he calls. i'm gonna give up now, but then an ace hits the turn, a good bluff card. he checks, i bet 6000, he calls. i'm gonna 3barrel the river, but then another ace hits. he checks, and i know there is no way i can get him to fold his king here. any card but an ace and i bet 12k and he folds, but instead i lose a pretty big pot with ten high. lame.

okay, day2 went well for awhile. i was in a shove or fold situation to start off, so the decisions were pretty easy. i shoved a couple of times and didnt get called. so i built up stack to the point were i could play a little more. then the cards went dead and the next thing i know, i'm short stacked. then the big hand. long story short, i raise with AJo and then call off 80% of my stack preflop and lose to QQ. bust on the next hand. could have waited for a better spot than AJ. not happy with myself

$125 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (8th out of 239 Players)

felt good to cash, its been a while.  played aggressive enough but kept getting big hand vs bigger hand.  i was able to suck out on called rivers a couple of times. disappointing final table however.  sat down with about 2nd or 3rd in chips but very close.  became the chip stack leader got 88 the small blind called and all in of about 90k i was chip leader with about 600k bb raised all in with about 200 i call original had ak bb had kk and kk held up.  not long later i felt a cutoff raiser was week and called his raise while i was in bb he was probably 2nd in chips then around 600 i was down to almost 400 it was a min raise. flop a q 8 he made it about 80 i felt he was week and made it about 200.  i had 46 he then shoved i folded and he showed a 6 i guess he was willing to risk it all on 6 kicker either way.  i get 88 a few hands later and shove and get called by 99 and that ended my night.
