August 23, 2013, 3PM: Played 30 minutes at Bovada
$0.25 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

One table of 6max.  Really focused in on reads on people.  Made one tough call on the river that was really close and was wrong.  Not sure if it was a mistake or not.  Added on $5 twice so was in for $35 total and my stack was at $27 or so when this hand came up: EP min raised (which did not mean a whole lot based on what I had seen from him so far), MP called.  SB raised to 1.25.  I had AKo and made it $4.50 and the UTG shoved for $22.  SB folded.  UTG had just lost a decent sized pot so I thought it was range was slightly wider than it normally would be.  I had to call something like 17 to win 29 and figured it was pretty clearly supposed to be a call.  I hate having to make that call which leads to me flat calling pre a lot to avoid being put in that situation, but having watched a lot of vids lately I am pretty sure it is good to just 4-bet then get it in there.  He had JJ and I was lucky enough to win.

An orbit or two later I raised AA utg and got a call and was able to get it all in against a player with KJ on a K high board for about another $18 or so.  Very happy with my decisions in the other smaller "less important" hands throughout the decision and how much attention I played to other players at the table.

August 16, 2013, 1AM: Played 13 hours, 30 minutes, Made $1,135.00 at Hard Rock - Hollywood FL
$560 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (150th out of 3389 Players)

Started on time which is unusual. Had a snug table and got them adjusted to a fast pace game.  Got some nice trap hands in my favor. As well as had a maniac image which caused pay offs.  Then went on a rush and played it hard. Avoided some other big stack confrontations with pot control. May have lost out on chips but wasn't left to any decisions for my stack.
Ended day one strong with 270k in chips, ave is around 120k ish.

Day 2: playing well. Grinding. Ducking out pots with non all in players.
Had 2 critical plays. AK vs 88, flop flush draw and overs. I call on flop and turn, hit to double up.

KK vs KK(short stack) and AQ. Fold pre, yes... Fold pre.
AQ raise 4x pre, I flat, short shove, AQ ships for 600k. I had 550k at the time and know I'm ahead but don't want to risk my tournament life. I can find better spots. Plus my gut is freaking out screaming fold. AQ spikes an ace and I avoid elimination. 3 hands later I pick up 160k with the but straight.
On dinner break with about 700k. Blinds 10/20k and 175 players left.

Out... 3 hands raise in a row got shoved on. Made stand with AQs lost

August 10, 2013, 1AM: Played 6 hours, 18 minutes, Lost $350.00 at Hard Rock - Hollywood FL
$350 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament (210th out of 586 Players)

I've not been posting lately as I host poker games and don't consider my play.. "Real" poker as I'm not necessarily playing to win.
As well with a smart phone our site is hard to post easily.
That will change soon as Dedobber and Mtcarddealer will be building a free app to log on the site!
Anyways, I've been fortunate enough to make it to Hollywood FL to attend their series of events. I've carved out 1-3 weeks to dedicate myself to playing again.
Today was a blast, although I disappointedly busted out of day 1c.  I had a terrible start, running my AA into KK, all the chips getting in on the turn and my opener dead to a K on the river, which came.  Starting with 20k I found myself 15 min into the event with only 6k.  I kept my focus and recovered to more than 60k by level 5.  Unfortunately a bad table change and 2 bad beats later I was short stack grinding.
I did my best until my AQs encountered AK pre.
All in all a great start to the events. I'm comfortable and confident in my play and reads after many years of being out of "real" action.
I look forward to the days to come and sharing my experiences.

August 4, 2013, 11PM: Played 1 hour at Bovada
$0.25 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Good session. Ran better than yesterday.  Was about 0-12 when set mining, but avoided any real tricky spots.  Won a few really standard small pots.  A couple big pots played out as follows:

I raised AA in MP and the BB called.  Flop was JT6...he checked I bet he called.  Turn was 4 he checked I bet 3/4 pot which was about 25% of his stack.  He shoved...I was fairly certain he had JT but was getting 2:1 and thought he might have QJ, KJ, AJ enough to make the call...plus I kinda just said screw it and called.  Sure enough he had JT, but I ripped a 4 and took the pot.

Last hand of the night: After a couple EP limps, guy raises to 1.50 (He had just sat at the table a min or two before)...I 3bet to 3.25 with JJ.  Guy calls.  Flop Q94, he donks 2.25 into $7 pot.  I call thinking I can have the best hand there a decent percentage of the time.  Turn was a brick and he bet 2.25 again.  This should have looked relatively weak and I should have just called.  However, I could not think of many hands outside of a Q he could have other than like TT or 88 so I decided to raise to 6.50, turning my hand into a bluff.  Thought given the action so far I could rep QQ+ and AQ...maaaybe KQ if he has QJ or QT.  He calls the raise.  River is a brick and he checks.  I was very happy to check but assumed he had the best hand.  He showed K9! I couldn't believe it but was happy to take the $25 pot.

July 26, 2013, 10PM: Played 4 hours at Bovada
$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 206 Players)

Normally I am super frustrated when I finish 2nd-6th.  However, this time I am pretty pumped.  I just decided today to start consistently including $5 mtts with the $1-$3 I normally play.  Feels good to know I can do what I have been doing in the $5's as well.  I am confident but it helps to get a nice score early so that I don't have to watch the account balance drop faster than normal.  Also, with 8 left I lost a big all in and had 2 big blinds left so I obv ran super well to add probably $80 to the score from what it "should have been."

July 26, 2013, 12AM: Played 3 hours at Bovada
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (10th out of 239 Players)

Ran redic hot at the beginning...Had a top 5 stack the whole tourney until down to 20 people.  I had people all in left and right...never won a single one of them and got short with 17 left.

Fought as a short stack most the rest of the way.  3 or 4 times a short stack was all in on the final table bubble and won which is always annoying.  I didn't avoid any good spots hoping to "just make it to the final table" though which is good.  In fact, I think my shove when I busted was bad.  A3 UTG (5 handed) with 10xbbs...I think I would rather shove like 98s there maybe.  I dunno.  Dominated by so much of their calling range.  Only mistake I think I made in the tourney and I bust.  I feel like I see everyone else at my tables making mistakes all the time and of course they play for a long time...I make one and I get snapped off and busted in like 2 seconds.  Oh well.  Just annoyed cuz I lost.

July 25, 2013, 12AM: Played 1 hour at Bovada
$0.10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

4 tabled .02-.05.  Super low stakes, but I am trying to build up some confidence and comfort level with cash games.  In the past (recent and not so recent) I have gotten tilted a lot easier than I do in tournaments for some reason, and obviously when that happens you can spew off a lot more money in a short period of time than is possible in a tourney.

Happy with how I played.  Made a couple of tough folds that I had not been doing playing cash recently.  I probably saved around $4 with those folds which obv greatly changes the outcome of the session and my attitude about it.  Set-mined probably 5 times and whiffed on all.  Probably missed a river value bet with the second nut flush (4-flush board), but it was a close spot.  Pretty much missed on all other draws.  Double-barrelled once and was successful.

$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 267 Players)

Could just about puke.  I am sure that over the 90 or so tournaments I have played in the last 7 weeks I have run better than average as long as there were more than 4 people still left in the tournament.  Once I get three handed....omg...I wish I had the hand histories of all the hands I played 3 handed or heads up.  I had one of my two opponents all in and I was the favorite in 6 different hands during three handed play and finished third.  Just unreal.  Just ranting at this point but I just can't believe it.  In 90 MTTs I have taken 3rd four times and 2nd three times.  lakjdf;alkdf;adfja So pissed I can't break through.

July 20, 2013, 2AM: Played 30 minutes at Bovada
$0.10 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

3 tabled.  Made a few hands which helps of course.  Was down $9 right off the bat, so went on a nice heater to finish up $8 all in 30 minutes.  Tried to add in some stuff I have been seeing in some videos despite some of it being normally a little outside of my comfort zone.  Opening more pots in late position...probably top 70% of hands on the button.  Top 50% from CO.  Guessing on those numbers, but this is way higher than I normally would.  It can't be too bad considering players at these levels rarely 3bet light and I will typically be making better decisions post flop.

July 15, 2013, 2AM: Played 3 hours at Bovada
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 237 Players)

Ughh.  I was short when I reached the final table.  After doubling up and having enough to play with I dominated the final table.  Everyone was way too tight.  Ran my 40k to 220k w/o really putting much at risk.  I was chip leader when the following hand came up.

Me 220k
Player 1 195k
Player 2 130k
Player 3 70k
Player 4 30k

3500-7000 blinds

Player 1 raises to 14k.  I 3bet to 37k with AKo.  He ships for the 195k.  I realize in a vacuum this is a super easy call.  But this guy had played very tight and not played a big pot preflop for the entire final table.  Also, I was likely going to be able to continue stealing blinds/antes from the rest of the table.  I think in this particular situation if I think he shoves AJ or AQ it is an easy call...if I think he doesn't than it could actually be a fold.

So I call.  He has 10 10 and he holds.  If I manage to win that flip, I think I am a pretty big favorite to AT LEAST get heads up for a $100+.  Still looking for that first win 77 tournaments in.

Update...... Never mind.  No way to fold that even if I think I can run the table over.  86k dead money in the pot...I have to call 158k more to win 402k.  Silly me for even thinking about it.  Ran good with 2 tables left...shame I couldn't win one more flip.
