November 7, 2007, 6PM: Played 24 minutes, Lost $12.00 at Poker Stars
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (25th out of 108 Players)

Forgot to take the add-on like a donkey.

1-15th get paid, 1st gets a $650 seat.  I am done for the night after this.

Doing great, 4 times the average.  Had solid stack. Then get outran bad.  Guy on right raise, I just call with JJ, flop is xxx all hearts below an 8.  I have heart.  I know he has Ax or a smaller pair so I let him bluff off his stack.  On flop he bets, I just call, turn is another x, he bets again.. now I push him in or wait.. raise now.  He calls with TT no heart.  Drawing dead to ONE FUCKING ten left in the deck.  It is found.  I have 364 chips left.

I grind that up to 5K somehow! Then.. same shit, move in and get stomped by A-x cracking my KK.

I'm trying really trying not to be a whining complaining baby but.. it is becoming very difficult :)

Part of the game, deal with it, move on, keep my head up.

November 4, 2007, 3AM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $410.00 at Deuces Wild
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Thought I was playing good.  Realized on the way home that I was wrong.  Tripled up on my first had by getting lucky, then won several more pots by hitting big flops and getting paid off.  I kept playing sort of lose, which was appropriate on this shorthanded table.

My big mistake was making to many value-type bets with mediocre hands.  Then being pot commited. I generally get paid off at this card room, so why not just always play tight and wait to get paid off? That's the right way to do things.  Also make a bad re-raise, just thiniking I could push a player off top pair good kicker.  This made me realize I was tired, and not playing sharp, I would have slowed downand thought about it, realized he wasn't laying down his hand, then cut my $20 loss and run, instead I lost $300.  Oops!

Mostly this was a frustrating session because I'm broke, and I needed to win, but I'll survive, most importantly I need to continue getting practice, and trying to improve.

Mexican Poker Cruise with WorldPokerSolutions.com

Some of you wanted to come on the October Poker Cruise to Mexico but could not make it.  So I wanted to give a post poker cruise update from my point of view.

It was a great vacation, from day 1 until the end.  You just get on the ship and you are pampered.  They make your bed, clean your cabin, prepare and clean up your meals.  You are spoiled.  Plus the staff is very warm and friendly while they serve you, and this is just the base of the trip.

A "typical" sea day for myself was, wake up sometime from 10am til noon.  Enjoy a cigarette and coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean.  Jump into the shower and throw on some casual clothes.  I'd then roll up to one of the dinning areas and grab a bite to eat.  I'd usually go alone and always ended up running into a poker player, staff member or someone from the ship I'd met and join them outside to eat.

Then I'd roll down to the poker room and open it up. Players were usually lingering around chatting while they waited for the tournament to start.  We'd usually get coffee and BS for a bit.  Once the tournament started I spent the rest of the afternoon building cash games and running drinks at the bar next to us.

Dinner time we would shut down the room and all go for supper.  This was probably one of my favorite times of the day.  Everyone would dress a little nicer than normal.  We were all relaxed and out of our poker war zone mentalities, so conversation was usually a little better.

Night games would be fired up and the action was better.  Some players would come and go to make it to a show with their wives etc.  I would usually start games, then linger around the poker room and bar, entertaining younger ladies while getting my players drinks.

Once the games where established I'd either sit in a game or sit at the bar.  Then I'd eventually get dragged up to the nightclub.  If we were feeling up to it we would either go back to the poker room for drunk play or wander down to the suite for an after hours function.

This was DeiYuo's typical sea day on the poker cruise.
Port days were very nice, just replace getting up at noon, with, getting up at 9am, going to shore and doing exciting things.

Our next poker cruise is looking to be May 2008 out of Seattle up to Alaska.  Check our website for Poker Cruise Information.  Also, we had many people try to book late after booking was closed.  If you are seriously interested in taking a poker cruise vacation, book in advance.  Anything less than 2 months in advance is getting late.

If anyone has any comments or questions please ask.

I hope to see a few of you at sea soon!

November 2, 2007, 2AM: Played 3 hours, Made $10.68 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (8th out of 235 Players)

first break...i just won a big hand to get to 5k....9/24...4/18...5/14....4/9...ah disapointing finish for sure...had a lot of chips and played a interesting pot with AQ hearts...one early limper and i made it 3.5x to go and he called...flop was JT8 and he bet half the pot...i think i could have or maybe should have gotten away or raised but i just called and the turn was an A...he checked i bet half the pot and he pushed...now i thought he had AJ but since i was double gutted i decided to call and i was drawing to a chop when he showed kq...owell i thought i played well despite maybe that last hand.

on a side note: i finish 8 outta 235 and make 6x the buy in...that seems pretty terrible to me, wish it was a tiny bit flatter but once again...o-well.

October 30, 2007, 4AM: Played 3 hours, 24 minutes, Made $1,237.65 at Poker Stars
$33 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 430 Players)

Was in the groove.. hit near rock bottom and got my game on.  Had a huge stack, almost went broke and rebuilt it..

Just grinded to final table.

Once there picked spots to move in on blinds.. double up 3 times as I was the short stack.  Was a weird final table.  9 of us left, 4 of us very very short stacks.  So we were all playing the waiting game.. esp since 9th was $180 and 6th was $645.  I said fuck them and went for it when I had the hands AND position.

Again, got to 4 handed and I'm all awkward..  did my best to bleed and pick on the other low stack.. double through him and then he went nuts and busted himself.. the other two players just had too many chips.

3 handed now.. stacks are 800K, 400K, and my measly 100K.. blinds just jumped to 5/10K lets see how I do...

Can't touch my chips.. they were all over me.  Stack off with A7 vs A9.. busted.

Happy with 3rd, put up a great battle and played a masterful short stack.
