$55 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (86th out of 1535 Players)

Was fun as hell, MUST READ HH PLAYER CHAT..

I was commentating on the players play.  I had not slept for a day or so, so posisbly is not as funny as it was at the time.  I did notice that doing this influenced the action and kept me entertained.

This hand in particular was funny as I was giving all the players nick names like, "agro#1" "the best player" and "calling station boy".  Hands previous to the one below I was asked why player "Crusaderick", aka "cruStation" or "calling station", is a calling station in which I replied, "watch" and bet only to have him call me down with nothing.  Then I commented something like, "callingstation donk pays off yet again".  Which led up to this hand below;

Unfornately we can't see everything from the playing perspective, like time delay and player chat scrolling in a fluid conversation regarless of which hand was taking place.
There is more interesting chat throught the tournament but it may not be worth the hassel digging through the hand histories to find it.

(maybe this is where we beg DeDobber, Rob, to allow Hand History highlighting of certain attributes like, player chat or exposed cards or any text of our choice or better yet.. build/find us a hand replayer ;)

This is what you get for fucking with me

A little while back I was playing on the clock at my casino.  At my casino if you hit any bonus while playing you don't get to keep it, insted the players at the table split it up between them.  Well the game was 5 handed with me in it and I didn't like any of the players playing, they were all a bunch of stiffs that were just trying to hit the progressive high hand that was real high that morning($650).  I picked up a big pair, it was raised twice in front of me so I capped it pre-flop, one of the players instantly got on my case and it was pissing me off.  The flop comes and i nail my quads so i check, the fuck-chop keeps belitteling me as he puts out his bet, when action came around to me I rolled my eyes and mucked, FUCK HIM.  If him or any of the other players at the tabel were good tippers or even if they were nice guys I would have gave them air, rolled over my quads and let them split up the money. I would rather loose the 16 than let them all win 160.
THATS WHAT THEY GET FOR FUCKING WITH ME.

February 15, 2008, 12PM: Played 1 hour, 45 minutes, Lost $3.30 at PokerStars
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (475th out of 2192 Players)

what a great start to this tournament.  I get AK first two hands...raise 4x and get one caller.  Each time the flop comes 3 babies and the caller shoves.  About 5 hands later I pick up AA UTG and I raise 4x...MP who has me covered shoves and then my computer just flat out dies.  First time my computer has ever died on me like that and it happens not only when i have AA but between the time when i have seen someone shove and when i can call (like a 10 second window at most lol).  awesome.

worked my way up to 5k and pick up AA in MP (only time other than when comp crashed)...i raise standard and BB shoves for about 2x my raise...i call and he flips up AK...flop K4K...AA hasn't been the best omen so far to say the least.....time to double or die

shove with 87s from SB and BB wakes up with 88....really strange series of events but whatever, been running good so i can't complain

3rd Set of a Hundred MTTs

So, I just finished my 300th tournament last night and I'm going to tally up what went down as I did the first 200.  During this set of 100 I started playing PokerStars along with Full Tilt.  PokerStars' tournament fields are significantly larger than Full Tilt, so my final table's will probably drop.

I played 64 tourneys on FTP and 36 on Stars.  I cashed in 40 of the 100 tournaments.  This is actually probably too high.  I need to be taking a few more shots that will bring my cash % down but my final table % up.  I had 5 final tables with two top 3's (no wins this 100 however).

I invested $305 into tourneys and cashed for $750 even.  $445 profit.

My goal from my last 100 MTTs for this set was to try to play my best game in every tourney.  I think I did this better than I had last 100 but this is an area that takes constant effort for anyone, and I am will continue to focus on this.  My goal for next 100 is to attack the late stages of the tournament better, and not get gun shy.  Last night I really blew a tourney because I didn't shove in a spot I knew I should of and it costed me.

Dealing and proping

I'm a dealer at a very slow casino and every day between five and seven the game takes a nose dive.  Well I get off shift at 6:30 and every night the night dealers push me into playing to help keep the game going.  I don't mind helping out the home team but I also need to prop almost every day to start the game.  Between playing to start the game and helping over the hump in the early evening I'm blowing the meek amount of tolks i make all day. It is starting to piss me off, I know that some of you are dealers and I was wondering if anyone had any good advice on how to hold onto my money a little better.

February 10, 2008, 2AM: Played 3 hours, 30 minutes, Made $78.21 at Full Tilt Poker
$2.25 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 237 Players)

SOUR TASTE IN MY MOUTH!!!! I played a great tournament and steadily chipped up after I lost the very first hand of the tournament with KK. I made what I think was the right laydown with 88 on a flop of 456 and just played very smart. The final table was full of maniacs so I trapped them with my big hands and then attacked all the weak tight players.

Going into heads-up play, maniac had 250,000 and I had 150,000. I steadily just played small-ball, letting him make mistakes and me capitalizing. After a bit of a grind I took the chiplead. Then came this hand which basically shattered my chances to win the tournament:

Full Tilt Poker Game #5195915303: $2 + $0.25 Tournament (39377280), Table 4 - 1200/2400 Ante 300 - No Limit Hold'em - 5:30:49 ET - 2008/02/10
Seat 1: NatePring (197,336)
Seat 2: InkyDink (158,164)
NatePring antes 300
InkyDink antes 300
NatePring posts the small blind of 1,200
InkyDink posts the big blind of 2,400
The button is in seat #1
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to NatePring [Ah Td]
NatePring calls 1,200
InkyDink raises to 157,864, and is all in
NatePring calls 155,464
InkyDink shows [9s Ts]
NatePring shows [Ah Td]
*** FLOP *** [8c Jh 3s]
*** TURN *** [8c Jh 3s] [Qh]
*** RIVER *** [8c Jh 3s Qh] [5d]
InkyDink shows a straight, Queen high
NatePring shows Ace Queen high
InkyDink wins the pot (316,328) with a straight, Queen high
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 316,328 | Rake 0
Board: [8c Jh 3s Qh 5d]
Seat 1: NatePring (small blind) showed [Ah Td] and lost with Ace Queen high
Seat 2: InkyDink (big blind) showed [9s Ts] and won (316,328) with a straight, Queen high

That turn card was just sick. It was also the difference between me making $70 more dollars or not....man I'm pissed...

February 12, 2008, 11PM: Made $5.31 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (10th out of 229 Players)

Blew it.  28k with 600-1200 blinds.  I am in 5th of 10.  Button has bout same as me and raises to 4500 (strangely big but I didn't really know what to make of it) I have JJ in the BB.  Now with the size of his raise i was afraid to raise to like 12k and put nearly half my stack in so I just called (mistake).  Flop is T95 and I check to let him C-bet, he does, I shove, he calls with T9 and thats that.  If i reraise I know he is folding and I have 34k and am in 3rd with 10 to go.  Super Ultra Disapointed.

ONLINE POKE-------ME up :(

i guess i was not ready for the online poker. I mean that i play all the time online but not with real money. I noticed a great deal of difference between play and real money online poker players. They are a different type of tight in those small cash games i think. Almost crazy/tight you know....or maybe it was the table i don't know but i was just wondering why i got murdered when all i was doing was playing super tight/aggressive with good hands. maybe a bad run or players quickly picking up on my play or not the right type of play for the game... aghhh maybe some advice. Not persay "advice" but tactics for these online games. reload.....???? also im thinking of only playing tourneys with 300 ppl or more and only try to grind them out for the big money wins..Y or N instead of cash games, tourneys only?? i seem to be better at tourneys (controlling my play)
