POKER IN DENMARK.......æ ø Å Æ Ø

i happen to come across a house game that my danish cousin knew about because it was his neighbor. Im still in Denmark visiting friends and family, but this house game was soooooo fun.

The players were ok but i could tell there where no true players in the game, but my experience gave me a victory in a different country... Swoop!!!!!! its crazy how different the game can be with COMPLETE strangers..

the buy in was 300 kroner... the exchange rate is 4.9 krowns to the dollar so it was about a 60 dollar buy in to play. It was fun because there were 8 players so the table was full to start.

I had to lay down top two pair three handed because he lit up like a flare when the diamond came on the river and he just cold called my flop and turn bet. Then ofcourse he sits for a second and bets huge into me....

It was so intense, but so much fun. i will be back on the 8th of july, so watch out SPOKANE.....!!!!!

WSOP Fantasy League Update

**Edit**I changed the date on this so that when the WSOP rolls around I don't have to go find this log.

RyanMo6707 and I have drafted our teams.  Overall I like my team.  Ryan probably has a little more well-rounded team when it comes to different games, but a few of them don't play a very full schedule of tournaments.

My Team--------------------RyanMo6707's Team

Daniel Negreanu------------Phil Ivey
Phil Hellmuth--------------Allen Cunningham
Chris Ferguson-------------Erik Seidel
JC Tran--------------------Johnny Chan
Barry Greenstein-----------Gus Hansen
Michael Binger-------------Scott Fischman
Mike Matusow---------------Scotty Nguyen
Scott Clements-------------Howard Lederer
Erik Lindgren--------------Michael Mizrachi
Jonathan Little------------Huck Seed

I think my team has an edge in NL Holdem, because a lot of the guys will play more events and play them better.  Also, if I was torn before a few guys, I went with the guy I would like to root for the most.  That will make the 6 week sweat (or however long it is these days) that much more fun to follow.  Just over a month and I will hopefully have a points lead to post!

Poker Tournies on FT

Hey all,

Just an idea that I had.  Maybe dumb maybe cool.  I don't know what you all will think.

So like many people do for the WSOP I thought it could be cool if we all did some kind of weekly/monthly tournament, etc buying in for $10 or $20 where the winner would take all and try their luck at a $100 or $200 tourney.  Obviously would need about 10 people for this to work.

Any thoughts???

July 1, 2008, 9PM: Played 1 hour, Lost $2.25 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (98th out of 275 Players)

Again, I feel very happy with how I played.  I start each night positive and excited to play and really feel as though I am playing my best.

Today I even spent an hour or two watching a few of my recent tourneys in a hand replayer NatePringle told me about and I noticed a few things I could have changed but for the most part I think I am making solid decisions.

However, the first tourney I sit down and play I am 3 outted on the river again.  It's actually rather amazing that I am a 93% favorite this many times going to the river but I have lost an unbelievable amount of them.

I am about to have a few days where my girlfriend comes to down and we enjoy some 4th of July fun.  Maybe this little break will help, but I really think I just need to string together a few key pots in a row before another big score comes my way.  In the mean time I am going to try and stay positive and aware that everyone goes through this and I just need to keep my head down and play good.

July 2, 2008, 1AM: Played 2 hours, Made $2.00 at Full Tilt
No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (14th out of 2700 Players)

Kind of fun to get this deep in this big a field.  Started this tournament when I started my other real ones for the night and of course this is the only one I get deep in lol.  Would have been really fun to take it down just because there were so many people but I was pretty card dead near the end.  Shoved on a guy w/ just bottom pair to pick up a little bit before having to shove again from the button with Q8s after MP limped....had a decent shot for all folds but he woke up with 77 and i lost the race.

June 26, 2008, 9PM: Played 5 minutes, Lost $3.80 at Full Tilt Poker
$3.80 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (9th out of 9 Players)

Played one of these 300 chip super turbos because there were some threads on Pocketfives saying they are profitable...they probably are but damn...push/fold right from the start...super crazy...

aa v's 22

OK i know the numbers and all but i honestly think there is an argument to be made for 22 being better than aa. how many times do you win a huge pot with bullets unless you manage to get it all in preflop? And if you do get it all in preflop how many times do they get cracked? now think of all the times you just couldn't trow them away and ended up losing a fortune or worse yet busting out of a tourney. it can seem like you never win hug with them but always lose huge. i mean unless you hit your ace you've only got one pair and how often do you win a massive pot with only one pair? if you do hit your ace its pretty unlikely anyone else as one so failing them hitting two pair or maybe a lower set your not going to make too much off the hand cause of that ace on the board. you only have a 1 in 8.3 chance to hit the flop so you pretty much have to make up your mind there and then how much you are actually willing to put out here.

But if you flip that around i've never heard of anyone with a drop of skill not be able to trow away 22. you have to same chance to hit your set but if you do who is going to be afraid of that 2 on the board? im probably wrong and i have obviously had a bad night with aces which is what leads to this rant but it just seems like they are giving too much weight. i hate getting them cause i know how im supposed to play them but i don't want to cause it means me putting faith in a hand i hate.
oh and use the code power1 on full tilt for a 100% bonus on you're first deposit up to $600. nice way to start off your bankroll!

Gettin Backed

Jaspinal sent me some money to play bigger buy in tournaments and today I played some.  I played 4 $10 mtts and a $5 mtt.  I only cashed in one and it was a tiny one in Midnight Madness, and I was down 38.60 for the day.

I ran like shit like which continued in the 2 smaller mtt's I played with my own money.  I decided not to log those tourneys since each individual tournament isn't really affecting my bankroll.  After I get in several more (if he doesn't pull the plug) I will log any profit I have in the end.

Nice cash tonight in the 50-50 by the way Jasp.

EDIT: nevermind...I ran bad, dropped 50 and felt bad (even though Jasp runs good and wins enough to cover all that anyways) and sent him his money back....i have no problem grinding my micros

I have nothing to say...

...but that certainly never stops me as those of you who know can attest to.  I am finally feeling back to myself after suffering for most the last 12 months with a ruputred disk in my back.  The surgery went well and I am on my way to a full recovery and hopefully back to having something to log on this particular site.  It was nice of Jesse to take time out of his vastly busy schedule in Butte for 2 weeks to stop by and see me one time in my weakened condition.  Maybe if he visits for a month next time we can actually have dinner or a drink, what a treat that would be.
