January 11, 2009, 3PM: Played 1 hour, 15 minutes, Lost $25.00 at Legend's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 10 Players)

$20 Buy in get's 3,500 chips, $5 add on for an additional 500 chips.  Everyone bought the add on.  20 minute blinds starting at 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400.

1st time trying this place out.  Small crowd, the 7 PM game is supposed to have more people.  Seemed like most people knew each other and were locals.

Notes picked up during game:

Country Boy was loose and aggressive, people said he will push all in a lot with any 2 cards.

Young Guy seemed to play tighter with better hands.

Both ladies seemed really tight.

Mustache man was loose and talked a lot.  Seems like he will say he has a piece, to scare people when he has a small piece of the board.

The brothers both seemed to know what they were doing.  One next to me mentioned that they play every week in a bar point tournament.

I played tight taking in the game and people.  At this place you need to win early and often to combat the doubling blinds.  Have to play looser next time.

Really didn't get much in the way of hands at 1st.  Played a few drawing hands at minimum and didn't connect.  Had 4/4 but it got raised to 1,200 so I folded.  Flop came A/A/4.  Would have been able to get all in against two others.  Had 7/7 and 9/9 next two hands and folded when it was raised preflop before me.  Would not have connected either hand and would have lost, but might have been able to pick up with a pre-flop all in??

Had Q/Q, raised preflop and got called by country boy.  Flop came 8/8/K.  He pushed a lot of chips in, I ended up folding and he showed an 8.

Got taken out by young guy, I had K/J as BB and didn't raise.  Flop came 6/K/? and he bet 500, I just called hoping to suck him in.  Checked next card and he did too, I should have pushed after his 1st bet or here.  River came a 6, he bet 1,000 and I pushed my last 500 on top of that.  He had the 6 of course.

I screwed up by letting him off easy when I didn't check raise all in after his flop bet.  Next time I will play a lot looser and try to accumulate chips early.

July 1, 2006, 5PM:
Add Links to Posts

Seems like some people want to be able to add links to posts.  I have been hesitant to do this for fear of spam, but may as well give it a try rather than fearing the unknown.  At any rate, putting something like:

[link http://onlinepokerlog.com Online Poker Log]

...will generate a link like this:

Online Poker Log

...if you want to use a bracket in your link, or if you want to explain how to do a link in a post (as I have done above, put a backslash in front of your brackets (as in "\[" and "\]") to prevent them from being interpreted as part of a special tag.

I hope to add more special tags soon (such as images).  Enjoy.

P.S.  This works too (no need for http, and if you leave out extra text after the URL, the URL becomes the text for the link):

[link onlinepokerlog.com]

...as in:

onlinepokerlog.com

...you can also link to pages on the site without the domain name.  The main reason to do this is to prevent the link from opening in a new window:

[link /blog/WhatsNew]

...as in:

/blog/WhatsNew

January 6, 2009, 3PM: Played 50 minutes, Lost $11.00 at Pokerstars
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3,296th out of 4941 Players)

>Started off amazing... took control... in charge of the table... then of course this happens.
*(Me) KhKs... (Him) AdJd... (Board) JhTc9h9dAh.... I raise pre-flop... guy to my left calls... I bet the flop... he calls... At this point I put him on exactly what he had (either AJ or AT)... I bet the turn... he calls... Ah spikes the river... I check... he checks... I get sucked out on and lose half my chips.  I am so used to this by now that it doesn't even bother me anymore.  It's not over yet though.

>After this crap I obviously have to just wait for a good hand and shove it because the blinds are getting so high.  Then this is what happens next...
*(Me) AsKc... (Them) AdJd and AhJh... (Board) 5s9d6sJs7h... One of them raises in front and I push AI pre-flop... original raiser calls and guy on my left calls... Pushing AI with AK vs 2 AJ's is a dominating hand, they are atleast 3/1 dogs... they only had 2 outs to beat me as long as the board doesn't give either a flush (which it didn't)... Absolutely amazing how many bad beats I have been experiencing lately.

January 5, 2009, 6PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Lost $10.00 at Pokerstars
$0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em

>Playing 9 handed fast table.

*(Me) TT... (Him) 22... (Board) 2s5h8hAs3d... He made a large bet on the river and I called.  Good start.
*99 beat by AA... Down to half.  My good hands are continuously beaten.
*Flop two pair and a flush hits the turn.  Have to throw it away.
*(Me) TT... (Him) 77... (Board) Jc7h6c8h7d... Absolutely amazing how bad I am running right now.
*Flopped a wheel... won a little bit back.

>Wow... last two hands...
*(Me) TT... (Him) AhQh... (Board) 3h8d4h5sJh... Breaks me.  Why do I keep losing with TT???
*AI with what I have left... (Me) JdJs... (Him) Ac6c... (Board) Ts3c3s8dAs... I should either give this game up cuz i suck or I am the unluckiest human in the world.

December 27, 2008, 9PM: Made $94.00 at Marco's condo
$0.50 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I haven't been playing live to much, due to playing a lot more on Full Tilt. I feel that I have the live pretty much locked down so I am trying to improve my online game. I have now moved up to the .50 cent 1 dollar limits. not bad since I started off at 5 10 cent.

We played at Marco's condo after the UFC fights. We had 11 of us playing. Out of the 11 I came up the most. It's funny that my c-bets make everyone fold. Like the great Patrick Antonius once said, "When I first started out playing poker online, I would raise preflop, c-bet flop, c-bet turn. Nobody would call. It was like there was free money in the pot everytime." Wow was he right. I started doing that and people fold a lot. That's exactly what I did at Marco's and I had all the young ladies folding to my bets. Weather I had it or not!
