August 28, 1996, 12AM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Broke Even at Ocean View
$2/4 Texas Hold'em
Got the Wednesday bonus today at 10:30, then walked out 4 and a half hours later at 3:00 dead even. Actually, it was a 20 dollar cash win for me, but I didn't play all that well. First of all, I should have known to walk away when I had 90 for a 30 dollar win plus the 20 for the bonus. I had already been there 3 hours, what more could I expect? My worst play was a 23 getting flopped 23J for two pair. I called all the way to then end when there was a lot of action. That should've been my tip to get out. I also loosened way up after I was down to 90 and made a few bad calls. I was tempted by the loose action. Went back later to play in the tourney, then lost $8 on the table waiting for dad. As for today, remember to play your game, Rob.

August 21, 1996, 12AM: Played 4 hours, Lost $60.00 at Ocean View
$2/4 Texas Hold'em
Never got anything good to look at. Felt a lot like when I went on the 12th. Got the early-bird bonus, so I only really lost $40 cash. My only really bad play was when I threw my last 11 dollars into a pot knowing I was beat. I did it out of frustration more than anything. Dad beat my only real good hand. A king in my hand tripped up and I had the ace kicker, but his pocket jacks made him a full boat on the turn. He beat me out of the last pot, too. He lost in the end, though. I keep losing because I'm unlucky and not because I'm outmatched or anything. It's frustrating.

August 14, 1996, 12AM: Played 5 hours, Made $40.00 at Napa Valley Casino
$2/4 Texas Hold'em
Played hold 'em today at Napa Valley Casino for 5 hours. Made a quick 80, then lost a slow 80, brought it back to 90, ended up with 80. Towards the end there weren't very many people there so I loosened up a lot. Most of the interesting hands were in the beginning, but I didn't scoop any huge ones I can remember. I had a perfect (I thought) bluff called with 4 diamonds out when some lady with the 8 of diamonds beat me. Got paranoid when I made a flush one hand and chased some people out when I didn't need to. Live and dies agressively, Rob.

I got nothing today at the table. 24 of 40 probably went toward blinds. Never got a single winner, and I only got to see one showdown, and that's only because it only cost me 2 dollars to see it. I was real patient, and still nothing hit for me. That's 4 in a row now. I need a winner bad. It was interesting watching the guy who claimned to be down 2,000 dollars fall apart and drop another 3-400.

August 6, 1996, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $40.00 at Cache Creek
$2/4 Texas Hold'em
Lost 40 playing poker, but went back for more like a complete idiot. I never even made it back to the poker table. Lost 50 playing blackjack, which voids out my 46 dollar blackjack win from a week ago. That's 3 losses in a row at poker. That puts me about even for the summer, and down about 40 on poker playing (I'm even if you count Blackjack). Have a plan, Rob.
