October 24, 1996, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $50.00 at Ocean View
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Went and got a 20 dollar morning bonus at Oceanview, but I don't think I played very well.  Won a quick 50, but then started to play too many hands.  I got caught drawing dead more than once.  Couldn't really identify a winner.  I don't think I was getting very good cards and I got impatient.  If I could've tightened up in time, I would still be there.  The had I went out on was a really good draw, probably one of the few really good draws I had, but nothing hit.  Get smart in that game, study it.

October 15, 1996, 12AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $5.00 at Ocean View
$2/4 Omaha Hi-Lo

Went to Oceanview Card Club for an hour.  Joe and Brent both tried their hands at the big game for the first time.  I left early because they were waiting.  Would've made a big win if not for losing to the second nut.  A7 getting beat by A10 with AA710 on the board.  The real problem was that I ignored the fact that a better hand could be out there and rereaised on the end.  Lost an extra 12.  We mostly played hilo Omaha with a little Hold 'em, and sometimes just hi.  Oh yeah, made a straigh flsuh to the 7 for a nice scooper.

October 5, 1996, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $50.00 at Stardust
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Sat down at a really fun table as far as attitude goes, but never got any really good cards.  I think I need to learn how to tell when a pair of 10's will be good and when you need a set or a flush to win.  My dad got the 4 kings end of an Aces full bad beat for $2500, so this was a free trip to Vegas for me.  A free lesson, so to speak.  I know I've got a lot to learn.

October 5, 1996, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $50.00 at Stardust
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Didn't get anything, then made a 24 dollar mistake in a hand I'd already paid 15 for.  A 79 got filled up, but was beat by pocket 9's making 9's full.  I knew they could be out there, but I got greedy.  I ignored what my mind was telling me about how to play, and it burned me.  Don't get greedy!
