August 14, 1997, 12AM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Lost $25.00 at Napa Valley Casino
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

This is a tough one to score because I went to the Napa Valley Casino with dad and Jesse and bought in for 40, but on my last hand my dad rivered me, but gave me half the pot (about 25) anyways.  I won the next hand and cashed out with 40.  I figure it's a 25 dollar loss (no cash, though).  I'm a little slow at the table (probably due to lack of experience), but learning every time I play.  Today's lesson was basically that big cards are worth more than little ones and that I need more stamina (it's all about patience).  I need to get better at judging and betting hands with confidence, and it would be nice to develop a cardroom personality.

August 11, 1997, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $44.00 at Ocean View
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Game: 2-4
 
Got 50 for 20 then 50 for 30 at 2 cardrooms in Santa Cruz.  Cash loss ended up being 24.  Should have stayed at the first game.  It was nice and slow, so it was better suited to my game.  There was more action at Oceanview so my 50 didn't last long.  Played OK, but felt a little out of touch.
