$3/6 Texas Hold'em
Played with dad. Played extra tight. Didn't get many cards, but won anyways. Should I tighten up more?

Got rivered on two very expensive hands, but played like crap -- too loose, too tired, too much poker lately -- I will take a break now...

$1/2 Texas Hold'em
Let's see if I have any patience...
- A2 offsuit: 4 spades hit and I bet the river without a spade -- what am I thinking?
+ A8 offsuit -- board had A44 out there -- no other aces out there and no set
+ J5 suited on the button -- made top pair and everyone folded on the flop
- 89 suited -- called a bet on the turn when all I had was a gutshot. There were only three players -- shouldn't have been there. Folded onthe river.
+ A3 offsuit -- ace on flop, 3 on turn. Capped on flop (I threw in a raise). The guy on my left was also raising -- figured him for a high pocket pair. Prolly should have bet the river -- I didn't want to get raised, though.
+ J8 offsuit -- flop came KK8 heads up so I bet under the gun. He folded out when I bet again on the turn.
+ K5 suited under the gun -- flop comes AK8 and it checks around -- turn comes king and I bet and everyone folds -- there was a way to make that pot bigger, I know it.
- A6 suited -- TERRIBLE -- made a one-card straight and capped on the river because i figured him for an ace (for the lower one-card straight). But there was a *flush* on the board I didn't see.
+ A3 suited -- reraised from the button before the flop. Called bets all the way down to win against a low pocket pair.
- AQ offsuit -- bet late position when the flop was 44733, but got called down by someone with a 7. I don't think that was a bad play.
* Playing very patiently. Folding Q8 suited... Would have made my flush on the turn... I know I've played m
+ Pocket 9s made trips on the flop, but the board was a FLUSH, so I chopped.
+ TQ offsuit got the side pot with top pair -- someone made a flush for the main pot.
* Folded 78 offsuit on the button -- should I play that on the button? Would have flopped a straight.
+ Pocket 9s got no callers on a raise before the flop.
- Pocket jacks -- called all the way down and lost to queens (a pair of aces hit the board, but I figured I was safe)
* I'm getting cards to play, that's for sure. Shouldn't I be winning? Down $5 :(.
- TJ offsuit flopped TJQ -- someone had 9K...ouch. Should I play TJ offsuit in early position?
+ 44 -- board paired on the turn and nobody called my bet
+ 3K offsuit -- nobody called me on the flop
- AA got cracked by a third heart on the river
+ A2 offsuit hit an ace on the flop -- there was a raiser who I figured for pocket pair -- I was right. I won.
* Winning small pots, losing big ones. Down $17.
- Pocket 9s got beat by pocket jacks.
+ AK suited flopped a flush draw. Made kings and chopped wih AK suited.
- K8 suited got beat by AQ suited -- we both missed and I couldn't bet the river. Could have maybe bought it.
+ 99 again -- tiny pot again.
+ K3 suited made kings onthe flop and trips on the river.
+ 7s made trips on the turn and boat on the river.
+ Js did not improve, but were good enough. Flop was AAT. I was calling all the way.
+ A4 offsuit made aces on the turn
+ AJ offsuit made an ace on the river -- pretty lucky card -- I made a pretty bad raise on the turn with only two overcards.
* Why were all my winners small pots? Need to see if it's something in my betting style.

July 28, 2004, 12AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $100.00 at Party Poker
$3/6 Texas Hold'em
PartyPoker.com -- thanks for the $100, Jesse
- TJ suited made a pair on the flop -- the button had an ace to make top pair, but looked like a position bet -- playing like jesse said and lost.
+ 4 spades hit but my top pair held up. again, playing like jesse said...
+ J3 in late position flopped two pair -- it held up.
- A8 offsuit on the button -- second-top paid beat me. I kept betting the position.
- J5 suited in late position got me in trouble. AAJ on the flop, and I called all the way down against the guy with the ace.
* I'm interpreting the action like the cards have been dealt the way that suits me best, like saying "that is a position bet, and he has nothing" and so on.
- Raised A2 suited on the button, called all the way down, and was rivered by two pair from QT
- QT suited was not bet after the flop, and I never made a flush or inside straight. Would have folded to a bet.
+ A6 suited went all-in -- 76999 came
+ A3 off-suit in late position -- XX663 came. No action -- $17 pot
+ 35 suited made a 4 on my gutshot straight on the river -- was all in for $4 on the end
- KK got beat by a one-card straight (Q6 suited) when 89T-7-8 came. Should have been able to fold that, but the guy was a real loose player (not that I was paying attention)
+ QJ was made a winner when I hit top pair. Only had $8 at the time.
* Would I be doing better or worse if I wasn't short stacked? I really can't say. I assume I would have played the same hands...
- AJ suited did not imporve -- was beat by AQ offsuit
- KQ suited did not improve -- was beat by A7 top pair

$3/6 Texas Hold'em
Two really bad plays -- one I had KJ diamonds and paid like $30 for it, including some raises by myself... Did I not think the pot was big enough or did I think I would scare people away? Idiot. Then the last hand I played A3 clubs and the flop came 344 -- another bad play, asn A or 3 is all that helps me, and those don't help much. It ended up being a really loose table and I got no cards -- not a single pocket pair in an hour and a half.
