September 30, 2004, 12AM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $33.00 at Party Poker
$30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 10 Players)

7th place.  That was not fair.  I got rivered at least four times.  I was getting great cards.  And I wasn't always up against better cards.  I mean, people were making their draws every time.  The last two I lost people picked up their straight on the river.  Normally I am not one to boo-hoo about being rivered, but that was a cruel half hour.

September 30, 2004, 12AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $100.00 at Bay 101
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Damn.  It was dumb to go back to the well, and at a higher limit, when tired.  I did get some unfortunate beats (like flush beat by boat), but I was also on tilt after I dropped from $160 down to ~$50 in just a few hands.  I had no chance after that.

September 30, 2004, 12AM: Played 30 minutes, Made $38.50 at Party Poker
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Bought a pot after the flop against the blinds with a crappy pair of fives.
Got T9 suited -- do not call unless there are a lot of callers.  There were not a lot of callers so I folded.  Good discipline.
Got QK in the big blind -- split a pot with another QK who kept raising me.  I had him on a diamond draw.  Figured he was one of those people who raises the crap out of flush draws.  Wishful thinking, and it almost cost me.
Played K3 suited and flopped kings.  Raise preflop and an ace hit on the river, but the other two players checked and I got the pot.  I would have expected to see the ace.
Raised preflop with A7 in the small blind and flopped aces and bet it.  I won the pot, but is that a recipe for disaster?
Played J7 suited on the button.  Flopped top pair -- got fishy and folded on the turn.  Was playing against JQ.  Guess that made up for playing J7 suited in the first place.

September 30, 2004, 12AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $22.00 at Party Poker
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 10 Players)

Played pretty badly.  Made some impatient moves toward the end -- I should have just kept sitting out and let the others eat each other.

Played pretty well.  Got called away for an emergency.

September 29, 2004, 12AM: Played 30 minutes, Made $47.50 at Party Poker
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Not much to say -- played the cards I got -- made some nice flops.  I guess I need to know when I have a monster.  I get QK and board is 48KKA.  I can't help but slow down when I'm getting raised.

September 29, 2004, 12AM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $11.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 10 Players)

6th place.  Strange tournament.  Flopped bottom set and someone goes all in in front of me when flop is 89Q.  I had a real bad feeling, but now I think about it, I'm probably good there.  I think that's a hand to gamble on in any event.  What is *not* a hand to gamble on is AT.  I went all in vs. KK *and* AA.  I lost.

September 29, 2004, 12AM: Played 15 minutes, Made $34.00 at Party Poker
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

+ Made a pretty bad bluff at a 2Q8 flop with K2, and won.  Normally, I get killed on those, especially because 8 people called a preflop raise.
+ Bet a pair of 7s into a 68JK flop and everyone folded for a tiny pot.

Strange game.  Very slow people at the table.  Frustrated me.  Should I have stayed because I was winning/getting lucky?

September 27, 2004, 12AM: Played 45 minutes, Made $8.00 at Party Poker
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Did not get very many cards, and wasn't hitting flops.  Then I caught a couple good flops and made it back to even.  I think Suzanne brings me good luck.  Flopped a set of tens with TK, which was nice.  Also, in a strange hand, I get pocket queens, and the board is a spade flush.  I won it with the Queen of spades.
