October 30, 2005, 1AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $11.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (5th out of 10 Players)
Battled back from way behind (forgot how I got there against these donkeys). Then I felt in control, but needed to catch a break when the blinds got higher. Lost two coin tosses with AK and AJ and finished 5th.

$30 Buy-In Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Tournament (6th out of 10 Players)
Haven't won one of these in a while.
Would have liked to play a $20 tourney. Instead I went into a $30 because I could not find a $20 PLO tourney. Took forever to get started because I think PP sit-n-gos were down for a couple hours prior to me joining this one. I myself noticed that they were down for about 15 mins (long enough for me to lose $25 at the $0.25 PLO table.
I think I need to remember this is a game where you have to be holding the nuts. I made aces up, but there were a couple straight possibilities on the board. Sure enough, someone was holding on to 23 to make a wheel. I really should have expected it to be there with three players behind me. Horrible move.
I lost when I should have folded. Here are a couple losses in a row where I absolutely know that I lost due to nothing but mistakes on my part. Should that make me feel better or worse?

$0.25 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
Donkey move on first hand -- paid a guy off with a boat just because I had a wrap on a str8. Just need to remind myself that just because you hit a flop does not mean someone did not hit it better than you.
I really should not be afraid to rebuy. I'm still living in my college days or in fear of not wanting to go on tilt. Of course I won't go on tilt and lose a thousand bucks. It has taken me 10 years to lose a thousand bucks -- it is not likely I will do it in one night. The point is, if I feel that I would play better with more chips, I should get them. One donkey move at the beginning should not ruin my chances of making money...and yet I sit at this table and continue to milk my stack which is now below $10...
I'll open another table as a compromise. The Sit-n-gos were offline for a few mins, but now they're back. I haven't placed in one for a while, but here goes again. I'll play a $30 because I don't see any $20s.
Damn -- Lost a big hand when AQ was beat by 22 on 22QAQ flop. Busted me.

$0.50 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
Played at the $50 table after winning at the $25 table. Lost one huge pot where I had three pair going to river vs. trips. The guy made a straight...later on I made a huge hand to get it all back and then some when my boat beat some other guys trips.

$0.25 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
Played two tables and was (I think) getting good cards. I was hardly paying attention and got paid twice in like 5 mins on the river holding the nuts. One time I had AQ vs the other guy A9, both aces full, so I guess I don't blame him. Yes, these players are bad, but I have yet to make myself believe I am better than them.

$30 Buy-In Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Tournament (7th out of 10 Players)
Let's see -- even with Jesse here to help me, I felt like I had no chnce. Even when I doubled up early on, I felt like it was just a matter of time before I crippled myself.
Sure enough, the timecame when I looked down at A277. I decided to limp when I could have called, then someone raised. Jesse said I should have known by the preflop raise that the guy had an ace, meaning my ace was ueless except as a low. So now I have A2 on the low and 77 on the high, but I called and lost the whole pot and a huge chunk of my stack.

$0.50 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
I suck at this game. Don't bet the pot with low draws. Don't play cards when you don't give a shit. Don't waste time in the middle of the night playing for real money. Omaha players are, by and large, awful. You should be able to beat them but you make bad bets and play just like them.
I really think the problem is patience. Most of my bad plays are calling when I know I should fold or betting big when I have missed a flop or have some crappy draw to give me hope.

$50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 10 Players)
Finished 7th, my only hand I played in I ended up going all in with AA vs. 2344 on turn. Guy had 4K, I should have known.

Got fourth :(. I had to sit out a bunch of hands while Bernie was trying to go to sleep, then I had to play while watching Bernie. Probably contributed to a lot of bad decisions.

The bad beat jackpot was getting huge ($500k?), so I couldn't resist. Thought I was going to lose a bunch, but ended up doing alright.
