Obviously, I was on tilt tonight.  Prolly just frustrated because I have to go back to work on Tuesday.

December 29, 2005, 11PM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $33.00 at Party Poker
$30 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 10 Players)

I think I played pretty well.  As well as I could have.  And I lost.  So perhaps I should take that as a sign.  It is more fun playing the higher limits.  I should get better at this.

Not much to say.  Trying to get back in the swing of things with that game.  It isn't really hard...  I like tournaments better though.  Makes you feel like you're playing for more money even though you're not.  It's easier for a tournament to feel interesting to me without spending a lot.

$10 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament (20th out of 30 Players)

I hit like three flops that other people also hit.  Good ones, too.  Set of Aces cracked early, set of Queens cracked to put me out.  I think I did what I could to minimize the damage, but you can only take so many of those.

$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 10 Players)

OK, I played patient enough to win, so all I can share is my bad beat.  I had about 2k chips and pocket deuces in the big blind.  Flop was 882, turn 9, river 9, so the guy with the J8 sucked out on me.  He put me all in except 100 chips on the turn.  Would a really good player have folded that on the river? No way...you have to make the 100 chip call in a 4500 chip pot, right? Doesn't matter how sure you are you're beat, right? Or maybe when the guy on your left has only 300 chips left, you make the fold and hope to luck into third place? Very tough decision.

December 28, 2005, 8PM: Played 45 minutes, Made $19.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 10 Players)

Played fairly well.  Here's one hand I played badly, though, I think:

AJ flops A24, I'm playing against the blinds and bet the ace for the minimum on the flop.  Turn is 5, small blind guy bets 85 into me, I call.  I think I should have raised to see if he had it. River is J, guy bets 300 into me, I call.  Should have folded this, but won anyways.  Guy had K8.

At the end when heads up, I trued my best to be patient, but was not.  Shoved all my chips when I felt like my pocket threes were beat.

I let Bonnie take over when it got to four players.  We had some crazy gamblers at the table so it got whittled down early.  That was a very easy table.

Not much to say -- just relaxing a bit on xmas eve.  I guess one thing to say is what the hell is wrong with me.  Go to bed with your family you dork.

Playing dumb again -- making moves on pots I should not even have raised preflop on...  Did I play smart last time or get lucky...  I think I know the answer, but I'm not going to write it here.

Let's see...how did I win this? Well, I lucked out on a A7 vs A9 against a short stack.  I stole a bunch of blinds (side note: what do you do if, without intending to, you steal like 5 our of 10 hands' blinds? Do you get more or less aggressive?).  Anyways, I felt like the cards made that tourney easy for me.  Last hand, AA vs. K7 and K7 raised into me.  Then he flopped a king to ensure his demise.
