February 18, 2006, 1AM: Played 1 hour, Lost $100.00 at Party Poker
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Most fun I've had losing.  Was playing like a maniac.  At least my PP acct is empty now so I can work on more important things.  Jesse, don't give me any more money!

$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 10 Players)

I think bad playser such as myself like these sit and go's because you never have to feel like a bad player.  You can sit there and say "I pushed all my chips in on a coin flip and lost -- had to cause I was short stacked -- picked the right time, just got unlucky".  But you can leave out all the bad play that took you from chip leader to short stack in three hands (if you want).

$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 10 Players)

Speed tournament.  Would not normally enter one.  At any rate, because it was a speed tournament it turned into a crapshoot.  Someone put me all in on the flop with AK vs my 66.  I made the right call, but he went runner-runner straight (and flush, but who's counting?).

February 17, 2006, 12AM: Played 1 hour, Made $39.00 at Party Poker
$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 10 Players)

I played patiently, but at the same time felt like I was getting cards.  One of these days I want to have a win where I don't think the cards are anything special.  Then again, maybe you do win at poker when you have cards, and the way you get those cards is by not leaking out all your chips before they come to you.

Played patient at the end when heads up.  I think I deserve some credit for that.

Got the guy out on my TQ vs. his TK, QQX flop :D.

$30 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 10 Players)

Was trying to vary my play this time around, but ended up blowing all my chips, then limping along for a few hands going down to the table with my short stack and winning a few times.  I'm one of those people who can only win with a made hand (as in, a bad player).

I played like a maniac and did OK, but then I needed to change my play and not be a donkey when I flop top pair (jacks) at someone who raised me.  I shove, he calls (kings), game over.

February 8, 2006, 4AM: Played 5 hours, Lost $330.00 at Bay 101
$6/12 Texas Hold'em

I learned a lot this session.  I know that I make all kinds of mistakes and these mistakes cost me 6 chips here and 3 chips there and so on until I have no chips left.

All in all, it was a boring session.  I am not very imaginative when I'm down, and I was down the whole night.  There's one thing I need to learn.

I also need to learn to play better in a loose game.  I think I did better when things were not loose in the second half of the night than at the loose table we started out at.

More than anything I was just frustrated that I wasn't getting any cards.  I like to see a lot of flops, and I could change that, but I could also change when to see those flops and how to bet them.  I made some bad plays betting UTG into a big field on a preflop raise.  Checkraise there if anything.

I also get very self-conscious at the table.  I don't want people to think I'm an idiot, so I get very tentative on the river cuz I don't want to get caught raising the guy with the nuts.  It gets even worse when I have Jesse sitting at the table with me.

Made one good play on like the second hand folding bullets when the board paired.

February 5, 2006, 3PM: Played 45 minutes, Lost $14.00 at Party Poker
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Played pretty good -- only like 45 mins.  I got up a littel early, but then blew some chips on some second-besters.  Not suck-outs, just a few "if he's got it, he's got it"-type beats.

$10 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (9th out of 10 Players)

I decided to go all in with a nut flush draw.  Had to call a 640 bet at a 360 pot.  Pot odds were there, although it was only even money.  Turns out he had AK, which made my A no good, but I could have also caught a four (had A4c).  I prolly should not take an even money bet that early in a tournament when I still got plenty of chips.
