January 20, 2008, 6PM: Played 2 hours, Made $7.56 at Full Tilt
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (15th out of 467 Players)

Played pretty good, sucked out mid way through to triple up and after that i just chipped up and took advantage of a few of the ppl who were playing super tight.  the hand i busted out on i started with 27k with 1-2 blinds...one limp from MP and a limp from the SB but 7500 in the pot...the first limper had played very standard abc poker up to this point and i had pushed him off a few hands...i really wasn't worried about the SB so i decided to ship it and hopefully add 25% to my stack...the first limper limped with AA and that was that...i don't know if this was technically +EV or not but I am torn on whether it was a good move...i was going to need to get to about 50 to make the final table and this looked like a good spot to chip up.  i can obv check, miss, and then fold and still have a little bit of time but one more orbit and i would be under 10x the BB with the increasing blinds...anyways, i don't love the shove but i don't hate it either maybe i will feel stronger about it later or post on 2+2 and p5s and see how bad they mock me :)

$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (144th out of 359 Players)

two limps and i make it 5x the bb from the button with AA...two calls...flop is 762 rainbow...first guy checks, next guy shoves for twice the pot, i call for all my chips and he flips up 89 and makes the straight on the turn.

feel like i am playing great in these 5's...sure would be nice to run decent in one of them to get my confidence back

January 15, 2008, 10PM: Lost $2.20 at PokerStars
$2 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (432nd out of 975 Players)

Got some $ transferred to me on stars so i played this $2 tourney...really weird hand went down when i was still at about my starting stack:

5 limps, and i check in BB with 95...Flop=T95 rainbow...i bet 400 (pot was 300) and get two calls and then a guy shoves for 1700...i thought for a min but folded thinking one guy had to have a set or T9....the all in got one call from the 87! the shover had Q5!!!!!!! so that left me in trouble and i couldn't double.

i know this was just one tourney but the play that i saw was much worse than full tilt from what i could tell.  i am looking forward to putting in a few more tourneys over there to see what happens.

$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (62nd out of 280 Players)

Card dead, stayed patient but just could not find a good spot or decent hand...eventually got it in with AQ v QJ but a J hit and thats that...still feel pretty confident about playing $5's though so hopefully i will have time to play one soon and get a break through

January 14, 2008, 12AM:
Possible Move Up

I am considering moving up from $1-$3 tournaments to $5-$10 tournaments.  My online roll is not "technically" big enough but if I dropped down to $100 or so I think I would switch back to 1's and 2's.  I am in school right now so I am not depositing lol.  I have been losing interest a little and not always playing my best and I think it may be driven by playing so low.  I have had pretty decent success over the last 5 months or so and maybe enough to play 5s and 10s but because I loaned money to a friend who had to give it back in cash it's no longer in my account.

I have always been good about sticking to fairly strict bankroll management, but I feel that my game is good enough to at least give it a shot.  I am pretty busy this semester so my goal is to only play when I can afford to take 3 or 4 hours to play and also to make sure that I am in the right mind set to play.  Other than that I need to get past my nitty-ass self enough to be willing to drop a 100-150 before moving back down if it doesn't work out.

Anyways, hopefully the results will come and I will be able to stick to those for good.  If anyone finds this post, may all your cards be live and your pots be monsters (puke, jk).  GL
