September 17, 2009, 3PM: Played 4 hours, 40 minutes, Made $27.00 at Northern Quest
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Second straight session where I blow most my stack early, then climb back ahead.  A real struggle early, as I had no more money to buy back in.

September 11, 2009, 5PM: Made $128.00 at Northern Quest
Bonus

Limped in with Jc/9c under the gun.  Flop came Qc/Tc/x.  I bet, get called and raised, so I call three more.  Turns a blank.  I check and call a bet on turn along with someone between the middle of us.  River is the Kc.  Ah....
I bet, the guy sandwiched between us raises forcing the other player out.  With his raise, I know he has ace high clubs.  I reraise, he caps it and I drag a doosey.

Got 28 for the straight flush and 100 for high hand.

$17 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 18 Players)

Got talked into playing by Alan after work.  Thought I played fairly solid throughout, made one loose on the turn of one hand, but overall I liked my play.  Got all my chips in with A/5c on a board of Jc/3c/2s against 3/8o and couldn't catch up.

$22 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (7th out of 23 Players)

Was doing alright, did what I had to do, playing smart, I thought, at least...overplayed top pair on my final hand.  Everyone checked the flop and I shoved first to act on the turn with J/9o on a board of 9/8/6/3, got called by 10/7.  Go figure.

August 10, 2009, 10AM: Played 30 minutes, Lost $22.00 at Lilac Lanes
$22 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (22nd out of 25 Players)

Sort of predetermined to go out on this one.  Picked up wired aces one before the button.  Had three limpers for 100, and I raise to 400, get three callers.  Flop comes x/x/K.  Checks to me, I bet 500, get one caller by a weak player.  I love this flop, no flush or straight draws, so I'm putting him on A/K or K/Q.  Turn comes Q.  Not exactly thrilled with this card.  He checks.  I bet 1100, he calls.  When he just calls, my read for him is A/K, so I still feel alright.  River comes another Q.  He leads out betting all-in.  At this point I have about 3/4th's of my chips invested, so I call.  He shows K/Q.

I know the only way I win this hand is massively overbetting preflop, which is something I have a hard time doing.  Even if I shove after the flop, he would have called, I'm sure of that.  Could I have checked the turn, then folded on the river.  Maybe.  But then I'm lost on where I'm at in the hand, and it's doubtful that I get away from it.
