February 8, 2008, 11PM: Played 2 hours, Made $40.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

3-6 full kill.

Played solid poker, made very good reads in the pots I played. Lost a pot calling this guy down with middle pair since it was the 5th hand in a row he had won and he was playing in the dark. The donkey had AJ on the JJxxx board. Go figure. I play that hand the same way every time against some asshole playing in the dark.

Full Tilt = Full Rigged?

I've played my share of internet poker with good results in the long run. I've been playing some sit and go tourneys lately and I'm starting to notice some very odd "play".

I realize there are players far superior and far worse than me online, but these guys are cold calling with 94 off to make runner runner two pair to snap off aces and stuff. It doesn't take much of a player to figure out 94 off on the KQ2 rainbow flop doesn’t have much chance of dragging the pot on the river. You have no draw except runner runner two pair/trips. How are these guys consistently winning with such odd hands?

Now the 94 guy I was observing doesn't play every pot. As a matter of fact, the only pots I watched him play were ones he/she stayed to the river with and rolled over the winner. Everyone has heard the stories about hackers taking advantage on the internet poker. How far off are these "outlandish" stories?

Now internet security measures have classically been described as "reactive" since these companies are waiting to catch hackers breaking the rules and then fix the problem after the damage is done. Are there just too many of these "hackers and crackers" out there now to keep up with? Has internet poker become completely venerable to the average 14 year old fat white kid sitting in his parents' basement? Whats the story? Where are the articles talking about how far internet poker security has come in the last year?

February 2, 2008, 10PM: Played 4 hours, Made $60.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

3-6 full kill. Played very similar to the day before. Tight agressive. Made some of my big pairs work instead of getting snapped off.

January 31, 2008, 10PM: Played 2 hours, 15 minutes, Made $55.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

I buy in for 60 chips. Get a couple big hands cracked early on. Get all in with 99 and drag the pot and come all the way back to a 55 win. Felt good to maintain my composure and book a win

January 14, 2008, 6AM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Lost $40.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Here's another session that shoudln't have taken place. I didn't feel like playing poker but wound up in a card room again. I lost a pot to a runner runner draw on the first pot i played. Recovered a little bit but then started shoving my stack preflop trying to go broke and finally got there.

January 13, 2008, 1AM: Played 3 hours, 45 minutes, Made $130.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Lose table with some familiar faces. I play very tight knowing seeing a flop will likely cost several bets. I picked up very few playable hands but made my big pairs work for some good pots.

January 12, 2008, 1AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $20.00 at Mardi Gras Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Played few hands again. Trying not to catch the "gambles". Got snapped off in a huge pot. I have KQ this super agressive moron has KT. Flop KKA turn x river T and I get raised on the river of course. If I win that pot im big winner instead of $20 loser. Played good solid poker to rebuild my stack to a small loss for the night.
