I guess even demi-gods can lose.
Jokes aside, I played poorly tonight, I think, due to emotional stress. Shit has been on my mind (girl problems), and on top of that, some douche slowrolled me and kinda put me on tilt (villain had the ace of diamonds on an unpaired 4-diamond board, giving him the absolute nuts, and he then asked me to show first then revealed the ace of diamonds). What a dick.
Other than that, I made one really poor bluff that I'd like to jot down for future reading:
I raised preflop with [7d 2d] in middle position and got 5 callers. $60 going to the flop. Flop comes [Qd 2s 8c]. Check, check to UTG, who bets $40.
Now, these players at Carom are pretty straightforward players, so if I was thinking straight, I could've avoided this. If I was playing well, I would've deduced that $40 bet into me, the preflop raiser, is a very strong, confident bet. This really limits his range to [Q K] or [A Q]. I don't think this player would bet out $40 with [Q J] or any lesser queen. Any set, he would check to me, and two pair is really unlikely on this board.
My mistake was reraising all-in (about $100 over the $40) thinking I could get him to fold whatever he was betting with, but like I said, most of the Carom players are very straightforward, and they will not fold [K Q] or [A Q] when they hit their queen. Basically, I tried to bluff a calling station, because with the way he bet out so confidently, he was definitely calling a $100 reraise.
Now that I think about it, I made a lot more mistakes than I normally make. I just think my mind wasn't right tonight. I think I need to take a break and destress. I dunno if I'm going to play tomorrow. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Brandon and Yuya are starting to call me a demi-god due to my win streak.
Truth is though... I think this is the most comfortable I've been with my poker game in my life. My confidence is surging, and I think I'm playing some great poker.
I guess it's easy to say that when you're winning, but I really think I've evolved into a much better poker player than I was back in Stony Brook.

Ran super good tonight. Flopped a straight flush and quads in one night! What are the odds of that happening? FYI, I got paid on the straight flush, but not on quads.
Other than that, just played standard TAG style. Stole some pots here and there with my tight image, and the rest of the time, just played solid poker.
Sadly, I'm still down overall for the year at Carom Cafe. This means, I've been playing like dogshit + running super bad there ever since I started playing there, geez.
Hopefully, after my next session at Carom Cafe, I'll be up there for the year. There's no reason why I shouldn't be winning there consistently.

Not really Carom Cafe, but I don't feel like making a new location for this place, bc I'm never going back there ever again.
$10/hr time charge for $1/$2 NL? Get the fuck out of here. Plus tipping? Fuck that.

Had [Jc 2c] on a [9c 10c 9s][Qc] board and called an all-in and lost to [10 9], who flopped it.
I'm starting to learn from experience, when players at these stakes bet very, very big like $1000 over or go all-in instantly, they have it 99% of the time.
These past few weeks of playing $5/$10 NL, I've been making some big calls in situations where either the villain has it or they are bluffing with 2nd best, and in all of those spots, the villain has turned out to have it.
About 3 weeks ago, I got re-raised all-in instantly on a 3 suit flop when I flopped the jack-high flush, and I reluctantly laid it down – it was really, really, really hard to lay that down. Yuya has been saying I should've called, but now that I know how these players like to go all-in instantly when they have it, I feel a lot better about that laydown now.
If it wasn't for busting out in this session, I would've had a very good weekend poker wise. I made some sick calls this weekend and overall, I was really satisfied with my play.
Maybe next weekend, I'll walk away from the Borgata being 100% satisfied with my play.
