September 20, 2007, 2PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $102.00 at Big Daddy's
$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 26 Players)

We split four ways.

First hand I get pocket aces and hit a boat on the flop.  Trapped the guy in and doubled up.  Played a few hands here and there, and got some more chips.

Second table I busted a few players after hitting two pair on the flop to really chip me up for the final table.

At the final table, I just skated along until we made the money.  Everyone was pretty close to even, if someone double up they would have a good chip lead.

I look down at QQ.  The guy before me moves all in for one more chip then me.  I get a good read off of him after verbalizing a few things and call.  He shows 1010.  And, as well as I have been running, he spikes a ten to win the pot.  I have one chip left and the blinds are 2 chips/ 4 chips.

I ask if anyone wanted to chop, and told them if they don't they will be in trouble! (:

So I pick my spots and get all the way up to 26 chips...yah baby! Karma is a good thing sometimes.

The blinds were climbing too fast and I still was in fourth place, the line up was good peoples and didn't mind walking away a winner after having one chip left.

All in all, I played a good tournament, and picked my moves and times properly.  Oh, and congrats to gfro with the AK...you got luuuuucky!

POKER IDIOTS

It really is amazing what you come across in the poker world these days.  I was dealing tonight, was expecting to get of at about 12:30 AM, but noooooooo.  The inevitable occurred.  To of the most moronic poker players decided to play a few hands heads up.  I will not say any names to protect the idiots, I mean innocent!

One player was a newer player that went through one of my old students dealer school.  Basically he has the itch and doesn't know when to quit.  I don't think he even made it through the class.

The other player was just a stone cold donkey, who donates when he comes in, and always stiffs the dealers.

It's pretty sad when you have to prompt for blinds and control the action in a HEADS UP game! So, I just gave in, and they figured it out on there own.

Now, my co-worker and I are probably the two fastest dealers on staff, so what the hell, rake the shit out of the game.  Not once did they ask for a rake reduction, or commented on where the chips were going.

Player one started out with 280 in chips, player two with just around 200.  Once player two went bust, an hour and fifteen minutes later, player one cashed out for 250.  Yes, we raked 230...some tips from player 2, in 1:15! They both didn't have a clue, and it was actually fun taking that much money in rake for the house, as the poker room has been a bit slow lately.

Just thought I would share with you guys, hope you like my story!

August 31, 2007, 5PM: Played 3 hours, Broke Even at Richard Karn Celebrity Tournament
Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (56th out of 250 Players)

This was a fun tournament.  Filled with celebs.....and Jesse and I...lol.  I got a freeroll with WPS to play and actually played well.  The blinds were a little quick, but not a bad structure for there first time.

About 6 people at my table were beginners, so I found myself teaching them how to play when i wasn't in hands.  It was fun.

I made a few good plays and some middle of the road players to create good stack.

Then, I befriended another celeb who didn't have a clue, so I coached her fromthe other table...and she took down some pots.  The other players weren't pissed, they just wanted some advice too.  oh yeah, new pic is of the girl and I after we busted out.  She is briefcase No. 9 on Deal or no Deal.  Yeah baby!

So anywho, I had just over average chip stack, when I my a small raise in late position with 56 suited, flopped a pair and a flush draw, and forgot who I was playing against.  A newbie had wired kings who cold called the whole way, and we were 50/50.  I missed my outs and he took down the pot.  If I take that down, I skate to the final table.  Oh well, still a lot of fun and Jesse made the final table.

All in All it was a great experience in Tacoma, and we will be back next year.

August 26, 2007, 4PM: Made $1.00 at Richard Karn Celebrity Auction
Bonus

So, Deiyuo and I are in Tacoma right now.  World Poker Solutions donated a cruise package for the auction.  Jesse and I had a fun evening starting off with social hour, mingling with the rich and famous.  Then the dinner and auction was a great success.  So, in the brochure, our cruise package was at an estimated value of $1600.  So, Jesse and I made a mall wager.

The over/under was $3000.  I took the over and Jesse took the under.  To both of our surprise, the cruise package went for $4500! So...I shall take me DOLLAR and save it for another bet in the future!

Tonight is the charity poker tournament, They expect to have 250 people, along with the celebs.  It should be good times for all!
