$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Played one more session with dad before going to see Love. There were a could good old boys at the table. I don't know how people deal with the sexism and racism and homophobia exhibited/tolerated by most gamblers.

$50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 13 Players)
Tiny tournament at Mirage with only 13 players. I managed a miracle to pull of second, nursing a tiny stack, and letting the idiot with the #2 stack be way more aggressive than he ought to have been. He had an all-in call on the hand he went out on, and if he had folded (like he should have), I would have offered to split second place with him. They only paid top 2, and, strangely, second place paid like $240 and first paid like $290.

$200 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (50th out of 150 Players)
Did quite well in this tournament. It seemed to be full of locals and semi-pros. They all seemed to know each other and have seen each other at the various cardrooms, taking money from tourists like me. There was also the douchebag "bro" who gave me a good tip about betting halftime lines in basketball.
I got a pretty healthy stack going into the second break, and the first hand out of the second break I pick up 99 and double up someone with JJ. It was only about a quarter of my stack, so I'm not sure it was a bad play. Strangely, my dad lost his whole stack with the same hand, except he had JJ, and lost to 99.
Later on, with a slightly-below-average stack, I fell in love a little with AKh, and lost to AQo. Flop was AQX, and the guy just let me put myself all-in. Maybe could have avoided that one.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Weekend in Vegas with dad. Don't remember anything special about this session, except the frightening German kid who is the only person I've ever met who was against reunification of East and West Germany.

$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
It has been a while. I didn't play poorly. Probably not aggressive enough, but nothing really ever hit for me, either.
Jesse had the hand of the night. He had K5 for two pair, and a very loose player has AQ for a pair of queens. Jesse raises all-in and then shows him his hand. He folds, of course, and then Jesse makes the dealer turn over the river card, a Queen, which would have made the guy a set. It was a big pot before the all-in raise. Jesse probably made over $200 on the hand and went on to win about $800 for the night. Fucker.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em
This was sick. Jesse decided we should each put in $35 and buy in at $1-2 NL and shove in the dark until we get called, just to see how people reacted. It was so goddamned funny I couldn't stop laughing. Some people wer pissed, some were confused, and when we finally did get called, we won and stood up immediately.
We then proceeded to do the same thing at three more tables. After a while, one of Jesse's friends remarked that we should sit and play straight up now, since we have established a crazy table image. It worked like a charm. People had no idea what to put me on at the table that I shoved on. I ended up busting the poor kid who called me on the first all-in (which was Q9d). This time, I had pocket Aces. I really had my way with the table. Everyone wanted to take me down, but nobody was able to figure out what I had. It was unusual position for me to be in. I wonder if I have the balls to try to be a little crazy from now on.

$100 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (58th out of 94 Players)
Never got a hand before blinds were very high. Did not help I showed up an hour late. Lost with AK vs 88. Jesse and his friend Chris were also in the tournament and finished 2nd and 3rd for $1700 each. Good times.

Just fell in love with AA. When I raised to 15 on rainbow 49J flop and got called four times, I should have known there were set(s) out there. Silly me goes all-in on the turn. Donkey.
