$23 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 35 Players)

First time back at P & S in years.  Lots of familiar faces.  Good tournament, 6,000 in chips, 15 minute rounds.  Only knock is seven dollar entry fee, due to some player supported promotion.
  Key hand: Blinds at 25/50, I'm in the BB with A/5 of hearts, everyone folds to the button who raises to 250.  SB calls as do I.  Flop comes 7d/5h/2d.  SB checks, I bet 250, button raises to 600, SB folds, I call.  With him raising me here I put him on an over pair, but figure I should call here with a pair and a runner draw.
  Turn comes 3h.  I check, he bets 1,200, I call.  Now I figure it's pretty hard for him to put me on a hand at this point.  An ace(as long as he dosen't have wired aces), four, five, or heart makes me the best hand so I like my call.
  River comes 7h.  There's no way he likes this card(unless he has a 7), mainly due to it being top pair on board.  I ponder before betting 2,000.  Agony shines from his face.  He takes a while, but eventually calls.  When I show him my flush he pretends he's in drama class, slapping his pocket Jacks face up on the table.  "WOW, Your the best player in the world, WOW!", he says as he storms off.  Politelly I thanked him as I deposited my new chips into my stack.  Nice to get off to a good start in a tournament for a change.

February 6, 2008, 1PM: Played 2 hours, 15 minutes, Made $78.00 at Ringo's
$32 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 23 Players)

After five rounds (1 hour 15 minutes), I had played just two hands, pocket aces and pocket kings, doubling up both times.
  Key hand of the tournament: Four handed, I'm under the gun with 15,000 in chips, blinds at 2K/4K, the second card dealt to me is an exposed 4 of hearts.  The dealer laughes and says I didn't want it anyways.  He deals me another card and I look down at pocket fours.  If I'm nervous about playing fours without knowing one is already gone, I really don't like them now.  So I ask the dealer to look at my hand as I muck, he does and smiles.  The next two players go all-in with mediocore hands.  Before the flop is brought, the dealer shows the table my wired fours and laughes again.  Sure as shit the case four comes on the flop and the other two players don't even pair up after five cards.  I'm left shaking my head at what would have been, knowing I push if I hadn't seen that exposed four.
  I'm not sure if I made the right play here, am I still correct to push all-in here, expecting a call? Anyways, still had some fun, felt good to finish in the money.

Ended up short stacked like normal.  Went all in preflop with A/K, called by A/Q, queen on the turn.  Back to work.

tough game...lots of ATC players playing to the river.  Just couldn't beat them this time.  One drunk in paticular ended up with nearly all the chips, it was quite gross.

$55 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 17 Players)

Bounty tournament.  No chop this time.  Got damn lucky twice.  All-in three handed pre-flop with A/9 against wired kings and floped two pair; and on the last hand of the tournament got dealt A/Q suited, flop came K/Q/x, x on the turn, and didn't put him on a king when he pushed on the turn.  I called and saw A/K in front of me.  About even in chips, I had two outs.  Well, I did win the tournaemnt, so...I guess I'm running pretty good right now.
  2 bountys collected for 40 dollars.

January 18, 2008, 9PM: Played 45 minutes, Made $162.00 at Hooter's
$4/8 Texas Hold'em

4/8 with a full kill.  If games were always this easy, I'd never have to work again.  Floped sets with wired jacks and nines the first two hands I played.  Another hand I had Q/2 suited in the big blind, no one raised, floped a flush and got paid off by wired aces.  "You didn't raise preflop?", I asked him.  He said he was too busy stacking his chips from the last pot and didn't seem to care.  Didn't bother me either! lol
