$4,000 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament

I will eventually break this all down to the respective casinos and tourneys but for now this is just a overall view.
I got crushed in Vegas. Same stuff that is happening here.
 
I had 2 tourneys that I went out with AA one was against Q8 off suit and the other was against a smaller pair that hit a set.
 
One I went out with my AQ vs. A10 and she caught a 10 (this was the Ladies WSOP tourney)
 
One tourney went out with A2 and the big blind woke up with AK suited, (I was very short stacked) can't complain in this one.
 
Cash games killed me too
 
One memorable hand was my QQ in the big blind where I raised 5xs the big blind got called in 5 spots, flop a set of Q(top set), check raise the guy who bet he then shoves on me all in I call and he makes his flush on the river.
 
Another hand KK pre, go all in get called my AJ off A right on the flop no waiting.
 
Anyway I could go on and on about the bad beats but that seems to be all you hear when you are walking around the rio or any other casino poker room for that matter so I wont bore anymore.
 
I still had fun in vegas and the Rio really had things running way better than in previous years so that was nice and I will be heading back down at the beginning of July for the casino employee's event so hopefully my bad run of sick suck outs will be over by then........ thanks for all the good thoughts guys, I appreciate it

May 30, 2008, 10PM:
WSOP

Ok my fellow OPL'rs, i am heading to vegas in a couple of days for my WSOP, I have 2 events to play a 2k NLHE and I think I will play the ladies event for 1k, I am also going to play a couple of the deepstack tourneys at the venetian and cesears.
 
So wish me luck guys and hopefully my next posts will be six figures.......

$4/8 Texas Hold'em

I have no concept of how to play limit I think I need to play more hands, I just played really tight and made a little bit. I was working at the same time so it was a little bit hard since I had to get up from the table every so often but an extra 130 is ok....

May 20, 2008, 8PM: Played 2 hours, Made $302.00
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Was just paitient and waited for my hand the table was not very good lot of limpers and 10 raises and the whole table would fold.
 
I am down about 100 just from blinds and time, and i decide to make it a live 6. One guy raises to 18 button makes it 42 SB calls and I look down and AA (yipppeee) finally a hand I only have 200 at this point so I go all in button calls and the SB overcalls.....
 
Button has JJ and SB has AK and finally the best hand preflop holds up all the way through.....

May 19, 2008, 7PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $170.00
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Sat down and lost 100 right away, picked up K10 on the button in a limped pot. Flop comes A Q J rainbow. one guy bets 20 I call guy in sb calls. Turn 8 same guy leads out for 60 I min raise to 120 he calls the other guy folds. River blank I bet 100 and get paid off. Other than that totally card dead and not a very good table so I take my small win and call it a night

May 12, 2008, 3PM: Played 8 hours, Lost $900.00
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I really try and pride myself on being able to take the emotion out of the game and take my beats like a big girl but this one tonight really got to me and I am still thinking about it this morning. I decided to wait to log til today so I had some time to cool.
 
I am in the BB with 99, UTG raises to 18 and 7 people call before it gets to me. I call
 
Flop 5 9 K (2 clubs) I am first to act so I check, pre-flop raiser checks and next guy bets 40 gets one caller. Gets back to me I make it 110. Pre-flop raiser folds and the other 2 both call
 
At this point I know I need to dodge a club.
 
Turn Q (no club) I bet 300 they both insta call
 
River 10 (no club)
 
The guy who originally called the 40 was calling the whole way with K J off suit and the other guy was on the club draw.
 
Not only does he catch a 10 to make four to the straight it is the case fucking 10, The club draw guy had A10C and another guy at the table let me know that he had a 10.
 
Now this was a monster pot that I should have won and yes I want there action, I think what got me was that the guy who catches his one miracle card to win proceeds to say "o you got me you got me I know you have AJ"
 
Really asshole I check raised the flop with AJ I just don't get how people can really act like that. Any way I rebuy 300 more and cant get back

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

So I got back a bit from last night. I played really well tonight felt very confident and had some really good reads.
 
I was able to bluff a 200 pot with 8 way action and how I pulled that off I will never know I still need to go back over the hand a few more times in my head.
 
I was up about another 300 and really tried to get a guy off his over pair and he just would not lay down so close though. Then I went really card dead for about 2 hours and then starting swinging up hill again. Was nice to peel off a win after my nightmare the night before

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

I sucked tonight and could do know right. Was card dead, bluffed at the wrong times called and the wrong times and laid down at the wrong times, I can't beleive I only lost 500 almost feels like a win.........

Nice win for a couple of hours, my last hand I had a guy move all in on me when I am holding the nuts, That is my favorite way to play poker......lol
