September 9, 2008, 3PM: Played 7 hours, Made $1,020.00 at Horseshoe
$210 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 65 Players)

No justice in poker. I lost an all in pot on the third hand that woulda made me chip leader. Donk to my left made a reckless shove over my open raise in SB with AQ. He had 31k and I had raised to 3600, so bad. I called immediately, he rolls over As5s, flops 678 with 1 spade, turns 3s, river 9s *sigh*. I'd have been chip leader, best player at the table, with ideal position on the loosest donk.

Although I lost 75% of my stack on that hand, I tripled up then doubled up when I was very short. I managed to climb back to my original stack but the blinds had gone up and two players had busted out so I was forced to gamble with my 10BB stack. I shoved A8 UTG 4 handed and the SB woke up with 99 and it held.

September 9, 2008, 8AM:
First live final table

Well I made my first live final table in the Horseshoe Poker Classic $210 6-max event. I was really excited for this event as I never really get to play 6-max live against casino donks. I actually skipped my second class and got someone to cover my night shift waiting tables so I could play the event. Only about 60-70 people entered and final table paid. It plays at 3pm today CST. Some key hands...

I pick up 99 and a loose, splashy player who had been limping in and calling a lot of raises in the BB limped and called my raise. Flop 932 rainbow, he leads out 300 for like a fifth of the pot. Mystified and thinking he can't possibly be drawing live, I smooth it. Turn offsuit T, he bets 300 again. I call again and the river is a 6. He bet 900, I raised to 3k and he called and claimed he had 33 ya right lol.

Same donk later limped SB and I raised 66 in BB. He led out all in on T69 flop and I called. He rolls over A5 suited for no pair, no draw (LOL). Bye.

I pick up AA UTG and raise to 775 on 150-300 level, SB who had basically been a nit reraises 1800 more. I think for a couple minutes and shove, he agonizes before calling with AK.

At my second table a guy who seemed to play pretty bad minraised from the cutoff. I called with 66 in the SB, loose passive BB comes along. Flop 995 rainbow, we both check, preflop raiser bets out 800 into a 2700 pot. Pretty weak looking bet so I go ahead and raise it to 2500. BB folds, preflop raiser thinks for a bit before reraising...1600 more on top lol. I put him on a weak overpair or a mid pair trying to find out if I had a 9 so I thought for like 20 seconds and shoved, he basically instafolded.

Only bad hand of the night really was the very last one. Very loose, somewhat aggro guy in the SB limps 3 handed, I check 85off. Flop T85, he checks, I bet min, he minraises me wtf. I figured he had a ten so I called hoping to get him in for a raise on the turn. Turn 7 he checks, I'm a little surprised but my hand is good but vulnerable so I bet 4k, a bit under half the pot. He raises to 12k. I call hoping to check behind for a showdown on river but he shoves a blank. I tank for like 2 minutes and fold, he says he had 64 for the turned gutshot. I think I believe him because even though he showed some bluffs earlier, he never played them like that.

Well wish me good skill/luck today.
