$60 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (19th out of 20 Players)

i played terrible... AJ first hand i ignored the reraise after me and was convinced my TPTK was best. he had KK and i was out first hand, rebought and donked off my chips within 30 more minutes or so.

slump

looking at my log lately and trying to figure out where i'm going wrong.  i think i've loosened my starting hand requirements a little too much having been luckily rewarded by some questionable plays.  i know I've also had a handful of instances where i was eager to get my money in with the best hand too early in the hand only to be drawn out on.  i need to start being more mathematical and only betting enough to have them make a mistake by calling and if i get drawn out on then i at least have the opportunity to fold.  i guess long term i'd come ahead with the strategy of getting it in while i'm ahead, but i don't think my bankroll can take it.  my strategy for the next few sessions is to tighten back up.  i don't think i have the live hand history and experience to be playing as loose as i have been.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

gosh i've been running real bad lately.  its kinda getting me discouraged because i think i'm getting better, but there's no results.  i didn't log this right away and forgot everything that happened, but I remember i got sucked out on 3 times on my all in hands.  waah.  i started playing online again low stakes to regain some confidence.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

i am a donk.  played well completely card dead for nearly 4 hours and more then doubled my buyin, then just donked off my chips in a matter of minutes.  was too tired to be playing.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

lost my first buyin within the first 5 hands, got it all in on the flop with 2 pair, the obvious flush draw, a delta-bravo to the max, reluctantly calls and then screams yesss as he hits it on the river.  i hit up the atm and rebuy with a larger stack.  some unfortunate hands widdled me down once again and i then made a conscious decision to play well and build back up... i end up near even and DB continues to push around the table, be obnoxious, and generally piss everyone off.  i get involved in a hand with him out of vengence and spite with middle pair with QXJ on the flop.  i didn't think he had a Q because I was so intent on revenge.  i lost 2/3 of my stack on that hand.  it was interesting because he goaded me into calling his final bet (he made a boat) by calling me weak after i checked the river.  i knew i was beat when i checked, but that last jab pushed me over the edge and i instacalled with my mediocre hand.  vengence has NO place at the poker table.  so after that i started rebuilding again. the DB got kicked outta the room for vulgarity.  a fish sat down and i won a few pots here and there, including an all in semi bluff that gave me a nice double + up.  last hand I get AK UTG, raise to 4x BB, the table cascades with calls and the button (fish) reraises to 16.  I kick it up to 60, he calls.  flop is AXJ, he goes all in, and I can't lay down my top pair top kicker. his AJ two pair wins sending me to bed.  all in all it was a good learning night, got to make some good plays, and have the no-vengence thing engrained in my mind.  worth the 2 buy in loss in my opinion.

was playing pretty damn loose aggressive... too loose probably. i'm experimenting a lot more with positional raises, squeeze plays, and timed all-ins. its causing quite a bit of volatility, but i'm learning a lot from identifying more imaginative plays.

$20 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 9 Players)

rollercoaster tourney, made a bad speculative call which put me down early, got lucky and ended up chip leader... very late in the game when amazingly there was still 5 players i went all in twice with decent cards and someone called me with bad cards and hit leaving me very short and desparate, then tripled up again, only to get busted a hand later.
