$11 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 9 Players)

had a 2:1 lead headsup. i put him in on a 24h6h board after he had raised preflop. i didnt have anything, but he made a good call(i guess) with 2K and it held. we got it allin preflop with A2 vs QJ, and he made the nuts to double again. eventually lost with 92 vs 9T.

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (722nd out of 3798 Players)

by second break, i've been a card rack, but i have nothing to show for it except an average stack. i've had kings 4 times, jacks 3 times and AK at least 6 times. i knocked out andy bloch with my kings one time. that earns me my buyin back. i'll log that later. but i just lost a huge race with AK vs 99. i didnt have to call there, but now that i'm freerolling, i want to take more chances and gamble a little more.

at the 3rd break, played basically one pot this hour. facing a raise and 2 callers, i push with QQ from sb. one caller. he has TT. i double. only an average stack now, 2/3 are gone.

okay, this is the worst fucking thing that has ever happened to me. i have 15k and an average stack, my internet goes down and i cant log back on for about 30 minutes. by the time i get to a computer that works, i'm down to 5k. i see 4 hands. i push from bb with TT to a raise. he has AK. i lose the race. i'm out. and all because of this fucking sorry ass wireless internet that my idiot roomate insisted that we put up. i can believe this. i dont know if i've ever been this mad about anything in my entire life.

and why in the fuck is the internet working but fulltilt wont connect? i shouldnt even be able to connect to this site right now!!

$5 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 45 Players)

winner gets main event seat. got pretty lucky with 2 tables left. pushed as a short stack with KQ. got called by AK and i made a straight. then, at the final table, with 6 people left, i'm 2nd, push in utg with JJ. a shorter stack calls with 88, he rivers an 8 to cripple me. i got him back though 4 handed, i push with Q6s, he calls with A2. flop is QKA. turn is a 6 and double. 3handed, i make a big mistake. blind vs blind flop is 2QQ. i have A2. i bet, get checkraised. i foolishly push and he has a Q. suck.

trying to get into the FT main event for cheap. didnt work out. i think i might just buyin for the $535 fee. lost with JJ vs KQ. i misplayed it. called when i had the best hand, raised when i had the worst hand.

May 18, 2007, 12PM: Played 9 hours, Lost $550.00 at Harrah's New Orleans
$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (70th out of 622 Players)

63 places paid, and i just couldnt get there. ended up getting blinded down until there was no way i could hold on. so frustrating. i feel like i played pretty well though. i did a good job staying out of marginal situations. i only won 8 hands that i saw a flop on all day, but every one of them was either a double up or me eliminating someone else. i only made 2 mistakes the whole tourney.

breakdown of key hands: played exactly one hand before the first break. blinds 50-100, guy next to me raises to 400. he is a solid player and the only one at the table who i respect. i have 1800 chips and JJ and decide to just call, waiting to push on a favorable flop. headsup: A62. he checks, and he knows i havent played a hand, and would give me credit for an ace, so i bet 600 into 950. he checkraises me allin, i fold and he shows AK.

after the break, blinds up to 100-200. i have 800 and pick up aces in bb. one guy min raises to 400, the button calls. i move in. button calls with suited AK. i double up. a couple hands later, a short stack moves in with 88, it folds to me in the bb, and i wake up with QQ and knock him out.. our table brakes, and i get moved to the main room.

i sit tight and get a feel for the table. a new player gets moved to our table. his first hand, he limps in second position, and i can tell that he is super strong, looking to trap i guess. sb limps, and i take a flop from bb with Ac9s. flop A82 all spades. we check to him, he bets 400 into 600. normally i would play tight in this spot and fold, but i decided that part of my hand would be good, either the pair of aces, or my flush draw, so i checkraised him to 2400, which would put him allin. he didnt take very long to think it over, and with a shrug, put it allin. he had QhQs. wow. dont know what he was thinking, but i'll take it. This is what a one outer looks like. and it didnt hit. 2 hands later, its folded to me in the cutoff, i make it 700 with AKo. the bb thinks, and with a shrug, raises allin for 2200. i hate calling with AK but i do. he has QTo. another gift! an ace hits the flop and i knock out another player. then our table brakes.

this hand i am most proud of: early at my new table 25/100/200 blinds, i raise utg to 700 with AKo. one lady calls in position and the sb calls. flop 6JT rainbow. i decide not to follow up bet, that flop could have easily hit either of them. check to her, she bets 600. blind check calls. i quickly do the math. i have to call 600 into 3750 for my gutshot and possibly 2 overs. i call. turn is a 9. check to her, she bets 600 again. blind folds. i have to call 600 into 4950. cant pass up better than 8:1, and i still have plenty of chips, so i call. river is a Q. i have the nuts. at this point, i feel like she is very strong and wont be able to lay down her hand, so dont waste time letting he bet and move allin for 3700. she says "i have to call you." shows KQ. she had the nuts on the turn and didnt bet me off. now i admit that i got lucky to hit a 3 outer to win, but i feel like i played this hand very well and put myself in a position to get lucky. a three outer actually isnt too far away from 8:1 odds i was getting, though i didnt realize it was a 3 outer at the time. on the very next hand i pick up KK in the bb. a short stack goes allin and i call. he has AKo. 2 players tell me they folded aces, so he has one ace left. pow! the door card is the case ace, i dont hit the case king. oh well. merely a flesh wound.

just before the dinner break, i make my first mistake. the table has tightened over the last couple of go arounds, so when its folded to me in the second cutoff, i make a standard raise to 1200 with A3c. the bb is a fairly loose player and he calls. flop 3s7h8s. he checks to me. i think my 3 might me good. i bet a meager 1700 into 3100. he check calls, but he looked like he wanted to do something else. turn is Th. i bet 2700 into 6500, leaving my self with 3300. he checkraises me allin and i have to fold. i bet on the turn because i felt that he was drawing to a flush, but i didnt have enough to bet bigger. basically, it was just a bad play. i didnt bet more because i was weak and i let him know it. i gave away 5600 on the crappy ass hand. so, a couple hands later when i doubled up with aces, it was for significantly less than it should have been. thats a 10000 chip swing! what a costly mistake. i limped utg with my aces and it folds around to bb, the chip leader, and he checks. great. flop T65, 2 diamonds. he puts me allin. he knew i had aces and that i was a very tight player. he could have anything in the bb, but i said "i dug my own grave with this one," as i threw in my last 3000. he turns over K2d. only a flush draw. what a gamble on his part! my aces hold.

very next hand and the last one before the dinner break, one guy limps in early position, something i'd seen him do with everything from aces to 89o. the guy next to him goes allin for 2200. folds to me in bb. i have 77, and would have instantly called if it werent for the limper, so i fold, the guy calls. he has 66. the allin has AA. so it was a good fold, but a 7 hit the flop and i would have won a pretty good sized pot while knocking out another player. damn.

after the dinner break, i went cold. picked up a couple of hands, but only stole the blinds with them. i made my second mistake after watching this hand. 88 vs AK on a board of KK298 for a 40k pot. the guy that lost with AK had 2100 left, and he put it allin blind. i folds to me in sb, i'm getting short stacked. blinds and antes are 200/600/1200 and i have 6600 total. with J9c, i'm favored over a blind hand. need to win a pot, so i decide to go allin to isolate against him. the bb is the guy who just won that monster pot. he says he had AT, and mucked it, giving me much respect. allin has Q2 offsuit. i'll take it. flop.turn puts me way ahead. he has 2 outs and he nailed it. damn, so lucky. looking back, there is no way i win that hand. if he doesnt push blind, i actually go broke by way of the bb's ace. i could have folded. i only had 600 invested from sb, and if i fold, the bb surely would have called with almost any hand. i should have folded, but i talked myself into trying to gain some chips. instead, a player didnt get knocked out and i lost a quarter of my stack. after that it was all over. a couple of times, i was gonna move in with a weak ace in position, but the big stack to my right would beat me to the raise and i'd have to fold. i just got blinded to down. it was sad. even at the end, it was folded to sb, he limps. i have 24h. what can i do with 4 high? he would have called my allin. he hit a pair on the flop and won. next hand, its folded to me in the sb. i have 600 in the sb and 800 in front of me, so i move in without looking and bb calls 200 without looking. i have 28o and he has Q9o. flops gives me lead with an 8, but he knocks me out when q hits the turn. i bust on the bubble after 9 hrs of play. what a waste.

May 10, 2007, 9PM: Played 4 hours, 10 minutes, Made $65.00 at BJs
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

played pretty well i think, but i made 2 bad plays that cost me quite a bit. i won alot of money right off the bat by cracking aces with 8Tc. flop was a ten with 2 clubs, and the aces raised my bet and i called. flop was a blank and he messed up by giving me a free card. river was another ten and i bet enough to put him in and he couldnt lay it down. shortly after is when i made my mistake. the game had gotten pretty wild, with button straddles alomst evey hand, some of them for up to $20 in a 1/2 game. i look down at JJ facing an $8 straddle from chip, a guy i knew would defend it with almost any 2 cards. one guy limped, he was the kind of player that was gonna play a hand no matter what if he had already put money in. so i raise to $25. they both call, 3 handed to the flop: J24 all clubs. the limper leads out for $12 into a $75 pot, i smooth call, chip calls. turn is a blank, we all check. river is a 3. checks to me, i feel like i have the best hand, so decide to bet it for value, $50. chip raises allin for $87 more. the other guy goes allin, but he has less than chip. now i have call $87 to win $363. i do the math and realize that i'm getting better than 4:1 to call. how can i fold with those odds? but i talked myself out of it. if the limper hadnt have gone allin behind chip, i would have called, cuz i know that he is very capable of making that kind of play at me. but once that other guy was in there, my confidence in my hand weakened, and i mucked top set. the limper showed 22 for bottom set, and chip mucked his cards. i woulda won a big pot if i had just grown a pair. damn.

i after that, i went card dead. coudlnt find any 2 cards to play, and i that was hard to do with all the crazy action going around. it was fast and furious at the table, for example, KK getting cracked by A2o to a $50 preflop raise. these people were ridiculous. i did manage to win a few small pots by bluffing in position. i'm up about $100 or so. i call a raise on the button with 45h from a guy who was playing terribly and over valued his hands big time. all four limpers and the bb call $12. 6 to flop: A3T, 2 spades, everyone checks to me, and i feel like i could take a stab, but i dont. turn is 7s. everyone checks to me. these arent the kind players who would slow play a flush. they would check-call a flush draw, but not a made hand, so i bet $35 on just a gutshot. chip calls. at this point, i feel like he has a pair and is calling to either get lucky or try and take it away on the river. river is a blank. he checks to me and i decide to bet $75, which represents more than half his stack. i thought it was a pretty good bet, and everyone at the table gave me credit for a big hand. but chip couldnt lay it down and he called and i just mucked. he showed A7 for 2 pair. good call i guess. a $120 bluff. nice.  couldnt get anything playabel after that. i was down to my last $100 and was about to get up and go since it was late. took one last hand, TT in late position. a tight player raised to $12, i'm in, 5 people to flop: T32, 2 clubs. the raiser leads out for $35, chip calls, and i go allin for $57 on top. the raiser calls and chip folds. the guy has 33 for middle set and i double up on my last. so i ended up making a small porfit, which i will take considering all the money i gave away.
