January 17, 2008, 11PM: Played 6 hours, Made $788.00 at BJs
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

played solid yet aggressive poker. won several hands with way the worst holding by betting strong. got kiric to move at me when i had aces. playing 6 handed at the end of the night, monster pot. i button straddle for $5, everyone limps, i put in a little sweetener bet of $5 more with AJo. marcus, justin and snuffy call, then paul makes it $25 more. i call, marcus moves in for $91 total. justin calls, snuffy calls, paul calls, i'd be a fool to miss this one so i call. flop is 9AA, paul puts in his last $62, i call, justin calls, snuffy folds. me and justin check it down, the river gave me quads even though i didnt need it. my AJ beat 77, 66, 85c, 97s. wow, did this really just happen? sweet pot. good win

$300 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (91st out of 1000 Players)

shoulda gone broke in the second level with JT on a flop of TT4, bb had 44. i gave him a good sized pot, but was able to get away from it. played a short stack for the entire rest of the tourney. key hands: a shorter stack moved in from late position with KQh and i called most of my stack from bb with KJ. i would normally fold, but i didnt have enough to wait anything better. i made a 4 card flush...got dealt AK, by far the best hand i had seen all day, but the dealer accidentally gave 3 cards to the sb and didnt know which crad was the 3rd, so the hand was declared a misdeal. i got mad, bu then the utg player showed aces. shoulda gone broke there too...never had enough chips to bet, allin or fold for the entire tourney. i must have moved in 20/25 times and i never got called once, so i never was able to build a stack, only survive. stole enough blinds to play for awhile. raised to 5000 with AK, bb called, a good young player. flop 66hTh, check check. turn Kh. check, i bet 8500, have 15000 left. he checkraises me allin. he has to put me on AK, so for him to make that bet, he has to have me beat, so i make a tough laydown. he shows me TT, flopped the joint. later, same kid raises to 5000 from button, i have 67h in bb and move in for 11000, knowing i'll get called, but thinking i'll be live and that hes not very strong. he has 69o. oops. but i get lucky and hit a 7...i'm allin several times and never get called, just hangin on. finally double with 44 vs AK. then i get it allin with TT vs 66 and another guy folds A6 face up.
turn is the case 6.
now i'm crippled again, but i move in on 3 of the next 5 hands and never get called, so i have room to sit again. then this woman gets moved to the table with only 20000. shes moves in on the first hand with A6o, gets called by AJ and hits a 6 to double. a few hands later, facing a raise and reraise, she moves in with AT and gets called by AK, hits a T to double again. later i pick up AK, raise to 18000, she moves in from bb for 68k with 33. i brick off and am left with 9000 and blinds 2500/5k. very next hand, 2 players limp, i find KK and get it in. another player calls behind me. she moves in over the top from sb. dumb move. she has AJh.
how can i possibly win on this board?
river T, i bust. what a fucking cunt.

and another thing. how the hell can you have 1000 people in the tourney and only pay 72 spots? that dont make one lick of sense. 7% of the field? what tournament pays 7% of the field. how about the standard 10% or even 9.5% if they fucking did it normal, i would have had a fucking cash instead of playing for 12 fucking hours with nothing to show for it. shit fuck damn cock balls.

January 10, 2008, 3AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $1,000.00 at Gold Strike - Tunica
$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

straddle for $10 on button with 78d, sb opens for $40, 3 callers, i call. flop A78. checks to me, i bet $75, sb checkraises to $200, i only call, to let him bet again. turn is T, he puts me allin for about $450. i call. he has AK. river is a ten, i get counterfeited. i rebuy for $500. the very next hand, i pick up AK and only call, cuz i know the same guy will raise his button straddle. he doesnt let me down and makes it $50. one guy calls, i reraise to $200. the button looks at me and says "you got a red ass, boy?" he calls. we're headsup to flop KJ9. i go ahead and move allin for $300. he says he has to call me, shows bottom pair and gutterball. river is a ten yet again, busto

$200 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (14th out of 207 Players)

i raise from cutoff with Q8d to 1600, bb min raises to 3200 and i have to call. flop comes QQ9. he leads in for same 3200, i move in for $21000 more and he calls! he calls with ATd. what are you doing dude? thanks for the gift. once i got some chips i was again super agro. we played with 19-23 player left, money bubble, for a long time and i won almost 2 out of every 7 hands. once in the money, i made bad/amibitious call with KQh vs TT in a monster pot. i bricked off. if i win that pot, i know without a doubt i go on to win. several hands later, i move in with A6d for 9 bb's. bb wakes up with JJ. busto. disappointed. my tournament game is on right now!

January 9, 2008, 3PM: Played 2 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $500.00 at Gold Strike - Tunica
$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

crazy hand, i call min raise from bb with J6s, 6 people to the flop 4T9 spades, everyone checks. turn is Qh. i check again, early player bets $25, raised to $75, i smooth call. the EP guy moves in for $280, the raise moves in for $600, i make the call for my whole stack. EP had Q8s and flopped it too, so i need to win the side pot against the guy who has AsQd. no spade on the river, i win a little. then this, smooth call a straddle with TT cuz he had been raising every one of his straddles and i wanted to disguise the strength of my hand. no raise. flop 259, i lead out for $25, he makes it $75, i make it $150, he calls. turn is a J, i bet $200, he puts me allin and i make a crying call. i cant see how he hit the jack. he shows me J4o!!! he put in $150 on the flop with nothing of nothing meaning to bluff me later and instead hit his miracle 3 outer to make a winner. jeez

$100 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 114 Players)

sat tight for a long time and waited patiently for good hands. when they came and held up, i started to gather chips and got more aggressive, raising every opportunity i had. this paid off in several hands: raised with 68d and called a smallish allin and beat AJ. my favorite, i raise the button with T4h, bb calls. flop is 3hTsJs, he check raises me allin and i go into the tank but make a tough call. i have to fade spades, a gutshot and 2 overs. he missed the world and i win. i won basically all my coin flips and even the 60-40s. once i got to the final tbale i went totally card dead and did my best just to pick the blinds and hold on.

$500 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (34th out of 205 Players)

6 handed deep stack. i feel like i played the best tournament of my life. if i had a read on someone i went with it, regardless of of whether i had a hand or not. this allowed me to gather a pretty det stack right of the bat, which in turn allowed my to keep the pressure on my opponents. won a big pot with 99 vs 77. flop was 578 and he check called. turn was a 6 for my straight and he called my allin bet. later, a player moved in on me for about 11 bb and i made an ambitious call from bb with 88, but i knew he was weak. he showed T7o. nice shove buddy, he hit a ten. then i got set up very nicely by a good player named matt brady. he had just gotten very lucky when aipf with Q6 vs AQ to double up when a 6 hit. i raise early position with K9o and he calls from bb. flop is AQ8, he checks, i bet 5000 into about 9000. he check raises to 10k, leaving himself with about 18k. i know that he is good enough player to checkraise here with nothing, hoping i was just continuation betting, and i think that he bets to minimum so that if i reraise, he can get away from it. i9 feel like he will fold every hand AJ and weak here, so i put him allin with nothing. he has AK and i'm drawing basically dead. he was smart enough to realize that his check raise would look like a steal to a good player like me. nice play. i still had plenty of chips after this. but a new player came in raising the first 3 hands and winning with no showdown. so when he raised for the 4th straight hand, i move in with 88. he has AK and i lose the race and bust. 6 tables left and they paid 4 tables and i have to make a move with nothing. i'm proud of myself for being willing to go with my instinct, but i wish my awareness had been a little better, knowing that folding would have asuredly gotten me into the money.
