bad table, short handed. just one of those nights when i shouldnt have even played. oh yeah, and a one outer. blind raise to $10 4 people call and i call from bb with 47d, flop is 3s3d6d. i have gutshot strt flush draw. i check, everyone checks. turn is perfect 5c. i have nut strt. i lead out $25, the guy who blind bet raises to $75 and has $50 left, so i put him all in. he calls with 59s!! only bttom 2 pair. river is 5h and i lose. okay, so it was a 3 outer. he could hit 3h, 3c, or the 5h cuz the 5d gives me strt flsh. so lame.

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

so I havent played in awhile. just been working alot, keeping my nose to the grindstone and trying to save up for some things i want to do, one of which is play alot more poker...so my temp agency sends me to a restaurant at crown to work a shift. lucky me. what a coincidence. my shift doesnt end until almost 2am and all the public transportation is done until 530am, so i'm stuck at the casino with nothing to do. huh, what to do, what to do. so i take out $200 from the atm and sit down. the game is typically very soft, with people calling nearly every preflop raise with any 2 cards. so i sit tight. there is a very active, very agro young asian kid who is mixing it up and forcing the action. he quickly bluffs his way through 3 buyins, but of course, he begins his comeback against me by actually having the nuts for the first time ever. my T7d gets beat by his 55 on a stupid board of 7s7c8c5c2s. i got off pretty cheap as he value bet $50 on the river and i check called with my trips and alarmbells going off in my head. almost laid it down, probably should have. so i was cursing my bad luck once more when i pick up JJ and double on a 9 high board.

anyway, pot of the night: i make it $15 utg with QQ. 4 callers, then bb goes allin for $67. he was pretty erratic, so i would have been very surprised if i wasnt way in front here. i think about reraising to isolate as there is nearly $100 in the middle already, but i dont feel like QQ is strong enough for that here and someone behind could easily have AK and wont fold no matter what. (thats the way the table was playing, very passive, call anything but not push) so i just call and to my surprise, agro asian kid calls from sb. flop is A89 rainbow. he checks and i nearly insta-shove for $113. why did i shove? i knew that if he had an ace here that he is good enough to lay it down cuz my shove looks like AK and he cant win. also, if i check behind cuz i'm scared of the ace, he will know i have a smaller pair and will surely bet the turn with or without an ace, leaving me to play the guessing game and a probable fold. so basically, i decided not to play scared. best reasoning in the world? i dunno. maybe you would like to discuss EightFive?...anyway he says "donation" and calls. board runs out blanks. i turn over my QQ and the other 2 muck their cards. i guess he had something like JT for a straight draw. the allin guy said he had lower pair. wow. didnot expect a call and when he did my heart sank. i actually got up from my chair to leave as the board was dealt out. so a very nice pot. and a nice win. decided to call it a night after i tried to get cute with KK by limping from early position. unraised preflop. but i got away from it on a dumb board of Q3457.

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

okay, this is some serious bullshit. i won a couple of hands right off the bat and built up to almost $500 without playing any really huge pots or being allin. then i get KK in the sb. it folds around to the cutoff. he raises to $20. so far i saw him raise to $10 in late position with K6c and to $20 with AQd. i make it $65 and he calls without a thought. he didnt consider folding or reraising, only call. he has only $110 left. flop 25T rainbow. i put him in. he asks how much and then slowly puts his money in the middle. turn 7, river pairs the 2. i turn over my kings and he announces to the table that he has a full house before he proudly turns over 55. i have a thought to try and explain poker etiquette to him, but i thought it would come off as being a sore loser, plus this guy was clearly not on a level to understand what he had done, calling off nearly half his stack with 55 and then being so slow to put his money in with what was basically the nuts. also, when he said he had a full house, i dont think he was being an ass as so much as he was genuinely pleased that he had made such a strong hand as a full house while not even realising how lucky he had gotten to hit a 2 outer. so i kept my mouth such and was thankful that he didnt have more money in front of him.

the very hand i get 99 on the button. the utg player thinks about raising but instead decides on limping. this asian guy next to me raises to $15 and i call, bb calls, then the utg guy makes it $50 to go. the asian guy looks annoyed and genuinely considers folding but calls. he has me covered with about $500 and the guy who made it $50 has about $250 in front. so i call here knowing if i hit my set i might double against a sure over pair, like what just happened to me. $165 pot. flop 9s8s5s. bingo, maybe. guy leads out for $75 with his over pair. the asian guy next to me shoves in before the $75 even hits the felt. its been my experience that most players dont act so quickly with a made hand in this spot. they usually take their time to think about slowplaying or acting weak before shoving, so i find it hard to believe that he already has a flush and even if he does, i'm not too far behind, so i shove and the other guy autocalls. i turn over my set, the other guy looks upset and only has QQ with the spade. i thought KK or AA for sure. asian doesnt show. turn is the 7s and asian stands up and yells YES!!! as he slams down his cards 9h6s for a straight flush. the meaningless river pairs the 8. i lose a $1000+ pot and go bust with 9s full of 8s to a straight flush.

who runs worse than this over such an extended period of time? who? i cant even run the odds for this cuz i'm so sick about it. fuck man. fucking bullshit. i mean, what the hell? how can this keep happening to me? i dont know what else to do other than quit. seriously. what else can i do? i'm at a loss

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

this is like 4 sessions rolled together. really bad sick hand: i have about $350 starting the hand. some joker blind raises to $10 utg. its not a straddle, just a blind raise, so he has no option. 5 people flat call $10. i have 34d in the sb and make it $55, knowing that i'll probably get one caller at least but just trying to get all the shit hands out like the people that play any 2 suited cards. 2 people call, the bb who is a tight very solid player and some old guy donkey who overvalues his hands and doesnt know how to lay down anything he hits. $185 pot, flop 2d4s5d. i flop middle pair with an openended strt flush draw. and nobody can put me on this hand. beautiful. as i'm thinking about check raising here, i notice the bb next to me immediately begins looking at his stack and for some reason, i just know he has a set of 5s. i dont really want to get it in vs a hand that strong here, so i decide that if i lead out as a blocking bet, he will slow play and i can see a turn card. so i bet $80, he calls, other guy folds. $345 in the pot, turn is Ac. wonderful. i made my straight. time to get the money in. he slightly has me covered. most people would instacall if i shoved here for $220, but this guy was as tight as they come and i'd seen him make big lay downs. i dont wanna run him out, so i bet $105. to my surprise, he puts me allin and i cant call fast enough. i show my cards, everyone is surprised. blah blah blah. river pairs the 2. he shows 55 for a full house, i lose. i feel like my only mistake in this hand was taking a risk from the sb with 34d, but i feel as though i played the rest of the hand pretty much perfectly.

$110 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (27th out of 235 Players)

this was a satelite into the $1100 first event of the aussie millions. they gave away 23 seats. i'm pretty annoyed with myself right now. its one of those tournies where the blinds go up so fast that at a certain point all anyone can do is shove and it becomes a card catching contest. so i had a pretty big stack with only 35 players left and was just planning on folding my way in but i lost a huge race to TT with AQh from the bb and that kinda crippled me. maybe i didnt have to call there and the only thing i'm mad about my play really is that i didnt take the time to even think about my options. all i saw was AQ suited call. so i ended being blinded down cuz there just wasnt any spots to steal the blinds and keep myself afloat. at the end, folds to me on the button and i have an autoshove with QJo for 9k with blinds at 3/6. bb calls only 3k more with Q4o. nice right? wrong. split pot on a stupid board of A Q 9 2 2. very next hand i get QTd. folds to me and i shove 10.5k. bb wakes up with AQc and i'm done. shoulda just folded. there were a couple of other short stacks on the other tables, so i could have held on. damn

raised with AA, called in 3 spots. flop KhTx8h. check to me, i bet $35. bb checkraises allin for about $90 more and i call. he has QJ for only openended. turn pairs the 8 with takes away 2 of his outs. blank river. just stayed tight until tourney started.

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

so i went back after a late dinner with some friends. probably should not have sat down cuz i was really tired. i was in the proccess of trying to talk myself into getting up and going home when i look down at 2 black kings. guy next to me raised to $16. i'd seen play one hand so far. he had raise to $13 preflop and then led out pot sized bet on a 247 rainbow board with top set 77. i thought it was strange at the time that he would bet everyone off such a monster hand. so anyway, i decide to get cute here and only call $16 cuz the table was playing very very tight and i didnt expect but one other guy to call and he did from sb. flop 479 rainbow. raiser leads out for $50, another pot sized lead out. did he raise with 99 and flop top set again. but i figured against his range that i'm likely to be a favorite, i'll almost never fold KK on that flop, and my hand is very well diguised, so i shove $155 more. he groans and calls with AA. damn. thats not cool. now i'm kickin myself for even sitting down to play in the first place. damn

$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

well, i got my monster hands finally: raise with KK both blinds call. flop KcJh4c. check to me, i bet $25 into $50. old guy calls. he is the kind of player who you cheer for to win a pot that you're not in cuz you know he's gonna give his whole stack away chasing something silly. turn is the beautiful 4d to fill me up. he checks and i know he has some kind of weird draw and wont fold, so my goal here is to get money in the middle. i bet a smallish $35. dont wanna scare him off. river another beautiful card 9c. he leads out for $50 and i move allin for about $100 more and he calls with QTo for the straight. thanks man

my other big hand i flop bottom set 44 on a 4h9cJs board and decided to slow play it to the preflop raiser behind me, but he checked as well. turn is ugly Tc and tight girl in bb leads out for $50 and i just know i'm behind at this point so i call to try and fill up. guy behind me calls as well. river is the ugliest Qc. flush hits and a 4 card strt is there. she checks, i check, guy behind checks. he has KQ for the strt and she had J9 for 2 pair. damn. if i had just bet out, mr gutshot would have called and then she would have check raised and i win the hand. damn. so i spent the rest of the time calling raises and then folding when i missed so i take meager win and run
