Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (15th out of 171 Players)

Managed to stay in this one a lot longer than I had any right to. Seemed like every time I was in the small blind I took down a major pot until we were into the top 40 at which point I won a couple of huge pots and got myself into the top ten chip stacks. Eventually took a couple of hits and went out but I'm still mostly satisfied with my playing considering I wasn't entirely mentally sharp.

Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (390th out of 7157 Players)

It's the weekend so time for another multi table freeroll. Anything out of the top 500 will be a disappointment for me.

I had battled from under $1000 in chips to one of the chip leaders at one point so I'm happy with the way I played. I had some very aggressive plays that I was proud of.

$0.50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 6 Players)

Another poor showing out of the money but this one was just not my night. This hand right here pretty much tells you how the entire tournament went for me:

I either got hands and then lost to just barely better hands (10 flush losing to Q flush for instance) or I let myself get bullied out of pots (see above, after they raised after the flop I had her on a flush draw so when they bet on fourth street I had to lay down).

I do want some feedback on one hand. I would've won this pot if I had stayed in but I really felt like I had to lay this one down. Was it a good lay down or should I have stayed in?

$0.50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 9 Players)

Rather poor showing, didn't get pocket pair once in the entire tournament. Chip leader was one seat to my left and they were not afraid to bully the short stacks. Finally went all in with AT, got taken out by AA.

February 18, 2008, 8PM: Played 2 hours, Made $2.25 at Absolute Poker
$0.50 Buy-In Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 9 Players)

Wow, I wish that I had been keeping track of hands during this one because this was the table of epic bad beats! People were losing with AA and KK in the hole all the time to loser hands like K7 (I actually beat AA with K7 at one point).

On one hand it was really annoying but on the other hand, by the time we were down to 5 players everyone realized how stupidly the cards were laying out so everyone stopped trying to be hyper competitive and we just had fun instead which I think went a long way towards helping me relax.

Took 1st which is ironic since I rarely, if ever, play limit hold em.

Just glad to have a cash under my belt again.

Free-Roll No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1,225th out of 6981 Players)

With all the time that I've been spending losing at sit and gos, I realized today that I've been ignoring my tournaments. So today I entered a freeroll just to see how things went and make sure I hadn't lost anything from my tournament skills. Not lasting until at least the top 500 will be a disappointment for me.

fish at the table who easily went through 6 rebuys before finally giving up.

There were a couple of early hands that I really thought I played well:

There was one hand that sealed my doom though and I'm really not sure if I should stand by this call or not. I think I should since the player who went all in originally had shown a very strong streak of bluffing with nothing and when he got short stacked that made it worse.

There was no way I could justify calling the second all in raise after a flop like that and that took up half my stack. I would've ended up losing the hand anyway but after that it only took a few more rounds before I went all in with QQ and lost to a set of J.

$0.50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (4th out of 9 Players)

Went out on the bubble. I'm slowly finding my form again and starting to place better again. Won't be long before I'm landing in the money again.

February 13, 2008, 7PM:
Couple of Sit and Go's

Two sit and gos tonight. Both of which took forever to form but it's a Wednesday night.

Anyways, 6 person single table I went out in 3rd place. Yeah, I could've played better but I just wasn't feeling it at the table. My final hand ended up being QAs and losing to a K high flush.

9 person single table didn't start much better. I went out in 5th. It did seem like every time I won a big pot I would very soon find myself in the short stack again. Just frustrating.

Not really annoyed about the losses tonight though, just wasn't really in it mentally I guess.

February 11, 2008, 7PM: Played 1 hour, 30 minutes, Made $0.90 at Absolute Poker
$0.50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (2nd out of 6 Players)

Entered a six player single table S&G tonight. Just wanted to try and relax in the game and try to have fun. Won a couple of early hands which gave me enough of a chip cushion that I was able to play my usual sniper aggressive.

It was nice playing aggressive again after spending so much time on the defensive last week.

I didn't win but I took a small payout and that's all I needed. Just a very small win to build off of.

February 9, 2008, 11AM:
Slump

My slump continues.

Haven't landed in the money since early this week and it really gets to you after awhile. I've identified problem areas and am working towards correcting them.

The biggest issue I noticed was that I would lose my patience really early for some reason and would begin playing marginal hole cards which would lead to bad calls and thus, early eliminations.

I will say that it's not entirely my fault though, these are two hands that I played earlier today:
