$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Small stack goes all in, i have straight draw, and flush draw so I call $30 and there's another caller.  There's about $130 in pot, and the river comes A.  I now have a pair with 4 kicker, but missed flush/straight draws.  One player is already all in, and I check and opponent bets $25.  He has to have A with bigger kicker or already hit two pairs.  I know that he knows that he has to beat the all in player.  So I fold and to my surprise, he takes this $25 side bet and folds immediately and lets the other guy take the pot.  Very very strange play and come to find out he knows the other player.  I should have called the floor, but I'm not sure there's much recourse for that type of collusion.

All in all, a good night, but did chase a bit too much at end of night.  Was up $750 as one point.

December 5, 2007, 10AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $179.00 at Limelight
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Made three big mistakes costing me around $400.  First, flop comes AJ8, I hold J8 in unraised pot.  He bets $12, I raise to $30, he calls.  Turn is blank, he checks, I bet $50 and he calls.  I put him on AQ or A10.  River comes Q, and he bets $80, which pretty much puts me all in.  I figure Q hit him for two pair and lay down.  He shows A3.  Tough call, but still think that was the right laydown.  Any two pairs, I lose.  There are no draws, so I layed down correctly even though I had a winner.

Now, the next two were just terrible plays.  99, raise to $15, I raise to $30, two callers, then inital raiser goes all in for $29 more.  I call, and two others call as well.  Flop comes KQ10.  Checks around the three remaining in pot.  Turn comes up 9, bet goes $100, I call thinking he had a made straght.  River doesn't pair board and he bets another $100.  At this point, I'm beat since J is good, but I think there's too much in the pot (>500), so I call.  It's a bad call, but my rationale was that I thought there was a better than 20% chance my set of 9s were good.  $100 mistake.

December 3, 2007, 10AM: Played 3 hours, Made $23.00 at Capital Casino
$5 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

First time playing at Capitol in the big (2/5) game.  Started down, but ended up a little bit.  Missed the good action where there were multiple all ins on draws and overcards (not overpairs).  Should be a good place to frequent in the coming months.

November 24, 2007, 11AM: Played 3 hours, Lost $15.00 at Orleans
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Non-profitable table with many tight tight players, makes for some boring poker.  Avg pots were $8.

$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Great game, full of Euros, both dollars and players.  Made $800 on boat after call with K6 on 256 board.  I had pocket 2s.  Great atmosphere for winning poker.  Either super tight or mistake prone players.

AA vs TT, and got action when I reraised $125 over his $48.  He went over the top of my reraise with TT! Won $250 on that hand and another with nut flush on river.  Layed down TT against 2 4 6 (2d) when I was reraised to $100 after I raised $15 to $45.  That's the kind of poker I should be playing since I think he was already good with straight.  Finally a good, winning session.

November 18, 2007, 12PM: Played 2 hours, Lost $170.00 at Limelight
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

trying to squeeze poker during lunchtime has proven to be a losing proposition.  Too impatient and wanting to get a good 'win' in a short time is a recipe for disaster.  KQ on the button, raise to 8, get 5 callers.  10jq (2 hearts) on flop.  I have Kh.  $40 bet to me from a rock at table.  I call thinking I can win with KQ or A9.  Turn is blank and she bets $70.  Thinking again she's on two pair, I call.  River comes K, so now I actually think I might be good and call $50 on river.  She shows K9, flopped straight.  I'm playing horrible and will be taking some time off before heading to Vegas next weekend.  How long can I continue making the same idiot plays?

November 15, 2007, 8PM: Played 30 minutes, Made $24.00 at Limelight
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

KJ and checked raised with top pair and had two rocks fold.  Folder Ah6d in early position to button raise, only to see all hearts with a six on the flop, turn 7h.  Action was crazy after flop!

I'm finding less fish at Limelight these days (though looking at my stats lately, I'm the fish!).  Hoping to find some at the new no limit game at Capital starting in Dec.
