Now... when he raised $5 after the flop, I called because I had two top pair and the size of the bet made me think that he was trying to just steal the blinds in the face of a strong flop.
When the turn came down and we both checked, I felt confident in my two pair. When my full house came on the river, I had zero idea that he was carrying a better house.
Now... if a mistake was made, I think it was after the flop when I called the raise.
Good call or 'dude, are you kidding me?' stupid call?
ETA: On second thought, what was I thinking? He had a set and he could've had quads for all I knew. That was a stupid call.
ETA Again: Ok, I'm coming to the realization that I'm a below average/decent tournament player but I'm an absolutely dreadful cash game player.
How do I fix this?

I don't mind your raise on the flop if he does not have a J you take the pot down right there. Once he reraises you you have to fold. He probably bet so much because he is trying to protect his hand from the flush draw and straight draws. Once the straight and flush draw comes on the turn he has to check.
Once he reraised on the flop you have to fold. At best you are calling to chop if he only has a 10
just my 2 cents
