April 23, 2008, 2AM: Played 45 minutes, Lost $3.30 at Poker Stars
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (600th out of 1213 Players)

I hate pokerstars.

No, I don't believe it's rigged or anything dumb like that.

I hate the bad players.

I was sitting, waiting, not playing hands.  Trying to break my recent string of poor play with sub-par hands.  Finally pick up AA with 1k left.  I'd been sitting at this table for about 30 hands, and hadn't played other than from the bb.

blinds are 50-100, I figure if I shove everyone folds, so I raise to 250, next player raises to 400, bb calls, I shove, both call.  Flop is 7D 5C 9D.  I have AD, so I'm thinking not too scary.  They both have chips left, first leads out 900, bb comes back for the rest of his chips, and the mid pos calls.  Go ahead and try and put them on something here, because what they had will shock you (especially bb).

...

mid pos has 1010, first one I looked at so I'm thinkin, ok, not the worst play ever, pretty bad, but still.

bb flips over 5D6D! Turn is 6C (of course), river D of some sort to make his flush.  56 Suited.  I'm at a loss.  How can you play against dumbasses like this who keep winning.  GRRRRRR.

if the blinds are 50-100 and you have 1K, you CANNOT raise. you have to shove. you raised to 250 so you could get action and you got it. if you shove, its very hard for 56d to enter the pot, unless he has an ungodly amount of chips. TT calls you and you take it down instead of complaining about bad players.

Sometimes no matter how you play a hand you are going to lose.. it sucks and it is frustrating but it is true.

All you can do is play every situation as best as possible.

Obviously what I'm doing isn't working...so...guess you're right.

I think if you shove and TT folds he is the worst player ever.  I don't think it said but if you are on the button with 10x you should be shoving a huge range and most players realize that so they should be calling with as bad as like A8.  If there was an ante obviously the shoving and calling ranges in this situation open up even more.  I think if you shove, and they fold, you just shrug it off and move on.  But being afraid of only winning 150 is not the reason to just throw a lil raise out there.  Anywho, I def do NOT think that you don't know shit and should quit playing.....you know that, I just have a different opinion about this spot.

I don't like the shove here.  I guess if I'm lucky the 1010 calls, but what's 150 more to my stack at this point? I didn't think my play was bad.  Maybe I don't know shit...guess I'll just quit playin'.

and we both know those players don't realize that you haven't played a hand, they are simply not paying attention.
