IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

As I was updating my Online Poker Log just now I kept thinking why don't I just add all these numbers up and make one entry it would be so much quicker and easier, but I remembered I was adding them seperatly so I could get a daily read-out, just to see if there were any significant differences, and there are. Now I know the reason for my 4 straight losses today is because it is Monday. The Day-of-Week graph shows I play more games on Monday than any other day but Saturday, and my wins are GREATLY lower in every area shown. So it is not my bad play; it is my day. I knew it had nothing to do with me. LMAO It's the days fault not mine. I hate Mondays. Screw-U Monday - I got your number.  :p

checking back in

Been a while since I have been on the sight.  I have been dealing and playing in Butte and Missoula, but most of my sessions are on the clock.  So when I am playing OTC, I soft play a lot and give people breaks.  Should I still post these stats, because its not true poker stats.  I dont play much off the clock if it is, its at my "house".  What is your feedback? Should I keep logging these sessions and marking "OTC"? Discuss!

June 26, 2010, 10AM:
Great day; took down three tournaments!

Definitely my biggest success so far.
I started off with around $40 and managed to build it up at PLO. After a few hours, I started to tilt and entered a few tournaments, one of which was a $5.50r PLO. After losing the rest of my tournaments and money, I was left with only the PLO tournament, but managed to take first place for around $230.

From there the day got better and better. I decided to enter the $10.50 HU Knockout tournament and took down 1st place in that too. I think I got around $220, plus all the $5 bounties.
A few other $10.50 HU Knockout tournaments I profited in although didn't make the money (just profited from bounties)
I then entered the $10.20 H-Turbo HU tournament and got 1st place for a little over $1,000.

My Heads Up game has improved alot lately, and I've started entering the medium SnG's.

I managed to overcome my degenerate mode and actually withdrew!

Hopefully my success will continue, and good luck to all of you!

Poker Marathon for Charity

A couple of the posters here know that I have worked for a summer camp for the last few years.  I am back at it again this summer.  Last year my friend and I decided to raise money to bring some kids from local schools to our camp that normally would not be able to afford to come.  Many staff members helped in the efforts.  One guy said he would stop shaving as long as people donated at least $5 a day.  Needless to say he looked pretty terrible after a few weeks.

Fast-forward to this summer.  We are again raising money for as many scholarships as we can.  There are also more counselors into poker this year than in previous years, so I got to thinking about a way I could combine these things.  I decided that I would take donations to sit in our "counselor lounge" and play poker for 30 straight hours online.  I am taking donations from friends by the hour or by just a flat rate....sort of like a walk-a-thon fundraiser.

Now, I honestly don't really expect anyone here to donate in the form of money shipped on a poker site, but I thought what the hell, might as well put it out there just in case...can't hurt to try.  I am not 100% when I am going to attempt this...our camp schedule is pretty full but I want to do it as soon as possible.  Either way I will post updates on here about when I do it and I will log all of my tourneys...hopefully I don't lose too much lol.

First session since joining

Okay, so today I played my first poker session since joining onlinepokerlog.com and it was successful!

I started off with 210FPP and entered a Sunday 1/4M qualifier and placed in top 6. With the $11, I decided to enter a few $1.75 w/18 players. I started off okay, and felt I was running decent compared to my latest form. I made a good call-down with A-high (much to my opponents disgust).  Another tournament I raised big with AK and laid it down when it was raised then called - they had AA and 1010.

At the end of my session, I started running really bad at the worst times; some times I was just in the money and doing well before the bad luck, and others I was just outside the money. Anyway, I decided to stop and ended +$23.69.  I'm kinda wanting to finish 100 games by Sunday 'cause I think I have a chance of making the Battle of the Planets Leaderboard (although the bad run at the end may've dented my chances)

Cliffs:
Played a very long session multi-tabling the microstakes.
Happy with performance.
+$23.69

Intro

Hello, I'm new here and just thought I'd introduce myself before complaining about all my badbeats. ;)

I've been playing poker now for around 3 years with varying success. To begin with, I was too young so would enter freerolls etc which didn't lead to anything. At the age of 18 I joined PokerStars and did relatively well, although not knowing too much about poker and bankroll management, I blew my whole roll in less time than it took to build it - and that's really been the story of my whole poker life.

My tournament results have been good overall, both at the casino and online (only have to be 18 to play live in the UK, woo!) but I'm a big fish at cash games; something I've been trying to improve upon for a while now - and probably why I always result in going broke.

Anyway, I feel I have a decent knowledge of the game and skills and motivation to make it big as a poker pro, but right now I have no bankroll and waiting to start my new job, so it may take a while.

This will probably be one of very few "life-related" posts, as I'm sure most of you just want to hear about poker. I feel keeping a journal of my progression will both help keep me from tilting, but also let others see what it's like in someone else's shoes - the ups and downs of poker.

That's all for now. Good luck at the tables!

WSOP Fantasy Bet

My friend and I picked teams again this year.  Sorry to OPL for not posting/making this available for everyone.  It was semi-last minute, and, basically, I forgot.  Scoring (same as last time):

Cash 100
Final Table 300
3rd 500
2nd 700
1st 1,000

If the event is a 5k we multiply the points by 1.5.
If it's 10k we multiply by 2.
The 50k Player's Championship (8-game mix) and the 25k NL 6-Max will be multiplied by 3.
Women's, Seniors, and TOC events are not included.

Me----------------------Ryan

Daniel Negreanu---------Phil Ivey
Barry Greenstein--------Gus Hansen
Phil Hellmuth-----------JC Tran
Jason Mercier-----------Erick Lindgren
Jeffrey Lisandro--------Scott Clements
Mike Matusow------------Allen Cunningham
Chris Ferguson----------Isaac Baron
Gavin Griffin-----------Steve Gross
Daniel Alaei------------Ted Forrest
Annette Obrestad--------Antonio Esfandiari

Overall, I like my team.  I think it is really important to get players that can play all the games as they will have a much better chance of final tabling a 300 person Stud8 tourney than a 4k person NLH tourney.  I think Mercier at #4 was a stretch for me.  Also, not sure how much Ferguson, Griffin and Alaei are going to be playing.  I wish I could take Bonomo and Binger in place of two of my later picks in hindsight.  For Ryan, I think Gus at #2 was really reaching.  I also wonder how much AC, Forrest, and Antonio will play.

I destroyed Ryan in this bet two years ago, but we didn't do it last year.  I think the teams are a little more even this year.  I do think I have a slight edge however.

Play Money Legend

Ay ay ay.  So I took today off because I had several things to do for Mother's Day.  But, while watching basketball for a little bit (Wow Rondo 28pts, 18rbds, 13 assts or something like that)I fired up a couple play money tournaments for fun.  One was a 2k 90 person SNG.  Won that.  Another was a 2.5k 367 person MTT and won that.  And now tonight I played a 1,155 person 250 play chip 6-Max tourney.  Just finished winning that.  3/3 today.  Wish I could post these results in the real money side.  Either way it was finally fun playing poker with it not meaning anything.

Dream Schedule

I am still super low...$3.07 right now...just playing $1 MTTs hoping to hit something otherwise will reload in a few weeks.  Either way, I am looking forward to the day where I have $75+ on FTP and Stars and can play the following schedule:

4:20 FTP $2 DS
5:00 Stars $2.5 12.5k Guar.
5:05 FTP $2 DS
5:20 Stars $1 1k Cap
5:55 FTP $2 DS
6:00 Stars $1 4k Guar.
6:20 FTP $2
7:00 Stars $1 3k Guar.
8:00 Stars $0.5
8:15 FTP $1 DS
8:15 Stars $2 4k Guar.
10:00 Stars $.25 $100 added
10:05 FTP $2
11:00 Stars $2 5k Guar.
11:05 FTP $2
12:00 Stars $2 3k Guar.
1:20 FTP $2 DS
1:30 FTP $1 Ferg

18 tournaments.  Total buy-ins: $28.25.  Average buy-in: about $1.50.  Would be about 12 hours of play.  If I were to get up over like $150 on a site I would probably include $3's and $2 6-maxes and $1 rebuys.
