December 31, 2006, 6PM: Played 1 hour, 12 minutes at Lucky Lil's - Butte
$5/10 Texas Hold'em

2-10 Spread Limit

Played pretty solid, was on top of my game and played cautiously since the game was pretty tight.  The pigeons still were easy to pick off, but for the most part the game was pretty tough.  Made a couple of big hands, but didnt let myself lose control with most hands.  Played a great session.  Game started to fall apart when I got in.  And I finally quit when it was 4 handed.

$5/10 Texas Hold'em

2-10 Spread Limit

Was playing pretty good at first considering I got my aces snapped by 5's chasing me down the whole way and cating his two outer on the river.  Then I started to have a few drinks in me and got caught bullshitting, and ended up playing pretty poorly.  Basically I started playing like the idiots down there, need to lay off the booze when I play, if Im going to drink just keep it to beer.

Started to get stuck in this game right away, seemed like the bad play at the table was still getting me.  Then all of a sudden I pick up a couple monsters 3 hands in a row.  I make all 3 of them stand up.  Hand 1, I flop middle set with 88.  And make quads.  Got paid off in 4 spots.  Next hand UTG I have TT.  I flop top set, and check.  Turn card comes a blank and bet, get called in 2 spots.  River card pairs the board, I bet, one guy folds and the guy on the button calls me with A high.  3rd hand in the BB with AJo, Flop a gut-shot, though well during my heater Im due to get my revenge on all these gutshoting fuckers.  I end up having to call 4 bets on the flop, as I got squeezed.  Then the turn card comes the beautiful Tc, bringing a rainbow board with the nut str8.  Now I hammer the fuckers praying that they dont hit their redraw.  River comes the wonderful blue duece.  I take down a nice pot.  Wife stumbled into the bar shortly after so I got up and went drinking with her and my brother.

$5/10 Texas Hold'em

2-10 Spread Limit

What a donk fest, I was happy to only take a $65 loss, after being stuck over $300.  Couldnt make a hand for the 1st hour and a 1/2, nothing even to sneeze at.  Dont even think I saw a turn card .  Then some guy asked for a deck change, this is when things really went bad.  With in 5 hands, I flop bottom set and someone hits a gut shut with q9o.  Not just once but twice.  So that took a hit on my stack.  Then in the BB, in the first 2 rounds of the new deck.  I flop bottom 2, with 23 and 24.  And I will be damned if the turn and river come 99 both times, counterfitting me.  Those 4 pots were all pretty close to 200 if not over.  And Im ahead all 4 times going in to the river.

So, this kid sits back down after losing his stack from before, buys in for $40, and is all in his first hand with AA against AT, AT makes quads.  So I decide well hell that seat can not be any worse than mine.  So I move there.  Game got short and I was able to jam a couple pots and get close back to even.

December 10, 2006, 6PM: Played 2 hours, 30 minutes at Doc & Eddy's - Billings
$10/20 Texas Hold'em

Got all of my tourny money back and some sugar for the weekend.  Went on a mini rush where I won 3 capped pots in 9 hands or so.  Was happy to leave a winner for the weekend, cause I was supposed to goto work. Game had a couple maniacs and a few pretty decent players in it.  Was an easy game to read and I played very well.

December 10, 2006, 1PM: Played 4 hours, 54 minutes at Doc & Eddy's - Billings
$50 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (19th out of 52 Players)

Had a few $20 rebuys in this tourny, because I kept running into Jerry Fisher, I would make a hand and he kept notching me, plus there were a few others at my table rebuying a ton, so there were a ton of chips at the table.  Right before the break and the end of the rebuy period I went on a 4 hand rush, the last hand where I ended up flopping three 9's along with Jerry floping three 9's.  And he ended up doubling me up getting me to about 25K. If I play the next two hands also I would probably have had 40K by the break.  After the rebuy period the blinds went up fast, picked up a few hands (flop a nut full, and flop a nut flush) but didnt get the action that I wanted.

One hand that I was involved in where I had to make a tough decision.  I have QQ in the SB.  There are 2 limpers and the guy in the cut-off raises it 3-4X the BB.  I almost re-raise but the two limpers have good sized stacks that can cripple me.  So I limp to see if the flop brings the god-awful ace or king.  The BB folds and the limper UTG folds.  Flop come Jh8d7d.  I bet 3K (5X the BB) and the limper that called goes all-in for 15.5K and the pre-flop raiser folds.  I have about 25 or 26K left after my bet. I count out the raise amount and count down the rest of my stack.  While I was doing this I noticed that the player didnt have this little twitch in his cheek that he had after he bet all of his marginal hands that either squeeked by a win, or lost.  So now it was time to really evaluate what he could have.  Is it possible he flopped the nuts, or AJ,KJ, maybe with a flush draw, or maybe just a stone cold bluff with a flush draw.  Since I watched him limp and call a raise before with JTo all hands where definately possible. I recheck my hand and notice I dont have the Qd.  Which means if he has a flush draw or the st8 I dont have the runner runner flush redraw against him.  With him having AJ,KJ he still has 5 outs against me.  Or even something dumb like JTo with top pair and a st8 draw, he has 9 outs.  I end up laying the hand down as I didnt wanna risk 1/2 my stack, when I had control of the table.

$10/20 Texas Hold'em

Fun 10/20 session, was trying to get some of my tourny loss from earlier.  Had fun with a few players at the table bull-shiting and fucking around.  My stack was like a roller coaster.  My headache finally got the best of me, so I cashed out and went to the motel.

December 9, 2006, 1PM: Played 4 hours, 6 minutes at Doc & Eddy's - Billings
$200 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (36th out of 63 Players)

Started with 11K in chips after the optional dealer buyin, and the optional rebuy.  Biggest my stack ever was was 13K.  Didnt pick up any hands, just tried to hold on and survive.  Got down to where my stack was 4X the BB and utg I went all-in with J9o and got called by 44.  I end up doubling up that hand. Another round went by and then I pick up AKo utg, and make a 3x the BB raise instead of sticking in my whole stack.  I miss counted my stack after the flop that came 924, and put almost all my chips in (cause I verbally declared what I thought I had) and I actually had another thousand.  I think if I realize this I try to wait out another round to stick my stack in.  I ran into 22 drawing dead, which If I make it bigger pre-flop that player lays that it down.  2 Mistakes the same hand and Im done.
