May 31, 2007, 11PM: Played 2 hours, 12 minutes at Wynn - Las Vegas
$4/8 Texas Hold'em

Was an idiot and got stuck 300, just cause I was fucking bored.  DONT WANNA DO THIS.

Luckily I got it all back in 1 hand where I flopped a gutshot and turned a 2nd nut flush draw.  Made the flush.  Was happy to walk away even.

May 31, 2007, 3PM: Played 12 minutes at Paris - Las Vegas
$65 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (27th out of 27 Players)

Since Jesse is taking 10% of my tournament action for the week.  I only lost 58.50.

I looked at 3 or hands.  When I looked at JJ. This was the end of me.

There were 2 limpers and I was in middle position.  I raised ~5X the BB (225).  And got one caller.

Flop came 8c6c2d.  The caller checks I bet 325.  He check raised me making it 650 to go.  I put the rest of them in, as I was far certain that I had the best hand, as the guy looked really weak to me.

Hands were exposed JcJs for me Jh8h for him.

And then he caught his 2 outer on the river to take me out.  I just kinda smirked and said nice hand and got up.

I just hope this doesnt set the tone for my tournament week.  And I hope thats the only horrendous beat I take all week.

The thing that had me stumped on this hand was the outragous bet on the river.  Why so much I asked myself for about 40 seconds of my time bank clicking off.

After that hand got up to 25K, then donked off 10K with QQ.  Then took my 13K back into 20K to coast into the money.

Coasting through the money was ok, cause I did pick up a hand here and there and never committed myself till I got really short.  Didnt think I would make it to the 63place pay slot, then I double up with Ac9c against Qc9s.  Very next hand pick up AA and steal the blinds.  This allowed me to sneak into the 63 pay slot.

After getting there 3 players dropped in one hand.  I took a stab at the blinds with Ac7c with little over 3X the bb in my stack, and GOT A WALK.  Played through another round of blinds when someone in early pos raised with AcJc.  Enough to put me all-in.  I call with AdKh If I win that hand i have 40K with the blinds 1500/3000.  Flop came AcJhXh, fearful of AJ like always cause I seem to run into that hand with a bigger ace, and they seem to find the J more than the 18% or whatever they are supposed to.  This was the case.

Was really happy to make it as far as I did.

Had a big stack through the early rounds of the tournament, and just kinda sat on, not really feeling the need to risk little here little there.

Then when I was short stacked I played excellent.  Had the disipline to lay down JJ with an a on the board with the BB calling my raise.  (only had 7X the bb left after folding), could have been busted that hand.

Had the disipline to lay down A-X suited after getting put all in by a stack not much bigger than mine (leaving me with once again 7X the bb after folding).  Most people would have felt themselves committed to call, but I wanted to wait to get my chips in with the best hand.

Was really pleased with my performance for this tournament, and hope my WSOP event is played very similar.  Except for running into the donkeys that feel AJ is so powerful.

I am very confident in my tournament game right now, and I know when I get myself in front of people instead of the computer a lot more of my tournament skills come out.

Thats why DeiYuo is begging me a piece of my action.

$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (222nd out of 381 Players)

Fucking running great against the donkeys.

Am playing an online tournament tomorrow, and I was up so I figured I would take a stab at a turbo sat for it.  All I am in is the initial $3 buy-in and 1 $3 rebuy that I took right away.

When the rebuy period ends I decide not to take the 1500 addon for $3 cause I have 10K and some change.

After the break, I have AKs in late position, and some donkey makes it 1K to go (blinds 100-200 25 ante) so I call.

Flop comes Ad3s9c.  Donk bets another 1K into me and I call, want to see what the BB caller does.  I figured after the turn I would get all the chips in.

Then the turn comes the card I fear the most.  The damn J.  Donk fires all-in his last 1500, I was hoping that I didnt run into the god aweful AJ fucking rags.  Sure enough I did.

A few hands later blinds are now 200-400 same agro donk, fires 1600 preflop, I call with TT, Flop comes 9 high rags.
He puts me all in, I call.  Fucking agro donk has AQo and catches a Q on the river to bust me.

Flop Odds on this miracle for the donkey

Why do people over play A-picture rag? Then get fucking lucky.  I have them locked exactly where I want them, and they fucking get lucky on me.

Hope this shit doesnt continue for the bigger buyin tournaments that I plan on playing, in the near future.
