$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Got nothing in about 4 orbits.  Raised 2 pots with marginal hands and won one, and then got re raised on the other with all over cards on the flop.

$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Not used to playing limit...one thing I picked up on was all the "older guys" would always wait for a Ace or Face cards to call or play.  I started to "donk" it up.  Raising any pot I went in and played strickly position.  One hand in the cutoff raised a re-raise with 2 4 off.  Had 3 callers, Flop came down 10 2 2.  1 bet to me, and I re-raised one caller.  Turn was the 4 filling me up.  I checked with the flush card hitting the turn hoping he'd bet but he checked.  I bet 4 on the river blind and he called.

Won 2 hands in a row with st8's.  56 off and Ks9s.

March 14, 2008, 9PM: Played 4 hours at Cascades Casino (Langley)
$2 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Got drawn out a couple of times and lost my origional $200 buy-in.  One with QQ..I stratled...6 callers then on me.  I knew knowone was really strong so I put out $100 expecting to win it right now.  However, young guy to my right, 19 and 1st night in a casino calls all in for $85 with As5c.  Of course flops an A.  Next hand, K10 off in the BB with 5 callers I check it.  Flop comes down 10 high rainbow.  SB (young guy) checks and I bet $15.  Folds around to the SB who calls.  I basically put him on J10.  Turn was a blank and he checks again.  I figure with the flush draw coming and him calling I should put out a good bet to either win it now, or make him pay and get the 100 he took off me earlier.  I bet out $50 leaving myself with about $45.  He calls and the river is a J, he say's "I'll put you all in" I know I'm beat but feel that I had to call.  Yup....J10....had him all the way and he would have called no matter what.

Then came back to $375 on a weird hand.  In middle position, I'm playing pretty tight the last 15-20 hands, raise $15 with Jh5h.  Everyone but the BB folds.  The flop comes down Qh 7h 5d.  BB leads out and bets $40, I reraise to $80 trying to represent a big hand now.  He then pushes all in, then....flips over his cards to reveal Ah8h.  $125 to call...I decided to call even it was 50.45% in my favour.  Ended up making 2 pair on the turn and the river was a brick.

$40 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 30 Players)

At final table...blinds 400/800.  Folds around to the me in the SB with 8d9d.  I limp in, BB raises the min. I call.  Flop comes down 8 high, I go all in with my remaining 2100.  BB calls with A6 off.  Double up.  5 hands later down to 6 players, top 5 get paid, and I'm second to act, have 5c5s.  I raise to 2400, and a guy 2 seats over goes all in...I had him covered but I was pot committed for only 2700 more.  He shows two red aces...down to 2100.  In the BB with 500/1000 blinds, guy 3 seats over raises to 2100.  Folds to around to me with Pocket 7's.  I call.  He shows Pocket 9's and I bubble out.

$40 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1st out of 22 Players)

Played well....maximized my profit with each winning hand.  Always had the best hand at the showdown and bet enough to get a call for a showdown.  By the final table everyone was folding to my raises unless they had a hand.
